Updated devel/jq to 1.2

2013-04-26 10:20:34 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update jq to version 1.2.  This is the version which should have been added
in the first place, but I somehow missed it.

Unfortunately there is no changelog, just a git history, with no indication
of which are the important changes.  However a lot of bugfixes are included.

The main pkgsrc change in 1.2 is that there is now a manual page.

2013-04-25 16:24:55 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Import ent-19981020 into the Packages Collection.

Originally packaged for wip by evaldo - thanks!

ent is a program which applies various tests to sequences of
bytes stored in files and reports the results of those tests.
The program is useful for those evaluating pseudorandom number
generators for encryption and statistical sampling
applications, compression algorithms, and other applications
where the information density of a file is of interest.

(Modified by me only to hold the distfile in a DIST_SUBDIR, since
the random.zip filename has the possibility to clash with other things)

An example of its usage:

% dd if=/dev/urandom bs=1k count=10 | ent
10+0 records in
10+0 records out
10240 bytes transferred in 0.001 secs (10240000 bytes/sec)
Entropy = 7.977398 bits per byte.

Optimum compression would reduce the size
of this 10240 byte file by 0 percent.

Chi square distribution for 10240 samples is 321.50, and randomly
would exceed this value 0.30 percent of the times.

Arithmetic mean value of data bytes is 128.5722 (127.5 = random).
Monte Carlo value for Pi is 3.195779601 (error 1.72 percent).
Serial correlation coefficient is -0.003620 (totally uncorrelated = 0.0).

Updated www/apache-tomcat7 to 7.0.39

(ryoon)

2013-04-25 14:30:35 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 7.0.39

Changelog:
There have been multiple improvements in the bytes to/from characters conversion process. The core conversion process has been refactored to use the NIO APIs. This has resulted in a number of improvements including invalid UTF-8 byte sequences at the end of a series of bytes now trigger a conversion error rather than being silently swallowed. Errors detected in request URIs will be replaced with the replacement character (allowing the application to respond to the invalid URI as it wishes) and errors in request bodies will trigger an IOException. The use of the JVM provided UTF-8 decoder has been replaced by a better UTF-8 decoder derived from Apache Harmony. This improved decoder has earlier detection of error conditions and more closely follows the Unicode specification regarding the use of replacement characters.

The annotation scanning process now provides more information if the scan fails due to broken class dependencies. There is now enough information to identify the class(es) at fault. The JAR scanning process that supports annotation scanning has also seen multiple improvements and fixes including the exclusion by default of the Bootstrap class path from the scan.

Upgraded a number of Tomcat's dependencies including Commons Daemon to 1.0.14, Commons IO to 2.4 and Commons FileUpload to r1458500. A new dependency on Commons Codec was added to replace Tomcat's internal Base64 encoder/decoder.

      "geoip_proxy_recursive" directives.

*) Feature: the "proxy_recursive" parameter of the "geo" directive.

*) Bugfix: a segmentation fault might occur in a worker process if the
      "resolver" directive was used.

*) Bugfix: a segmentation fault might occur in a worker process if the
"fastcgi_pass", "scgi_pass", or "uwsgi_pass" directives were used and
      backend returned incorrect response.

*) Bugfix: a segmentation fault might occur in a worker process if the
"rewrite" directive was used and new request arguments in a
      replacement used variables.

*) Bugfix: nginx might hog CPU if the open file resource limit was
      reached.

*) Bugfix: nginx might loop infinitely over backends if the
"proxy_next_upstream" directive with the "http_404" parameter was
used and there were backup servers specified in an upstream block.

*) Bugfix: adding the "down" parameter of the "server" directive might
cause unneeded client redistribution among backend servers if the
      "ip_hash" directive was used.

    *) Bugfix: socket leak.
      Thanks to Yichun Zhang.

Import jq-1.1 as devel/jq into pkgsrc.

jq is a lightweight and flexible command-line JSON processor.

jq is like sed for JSON data – you can use it to slice and filter and
map and transform structured data with the same ease that sed, awk, grep
and friends let you play with text.

(obache)

2013-04-24 13:34:28 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Import py27-polib-1.0.3 as devel/py-polib.
Based on PR pkg/47459 by Richard PALO.

polib is a library to manipulate, create, modify gettext files (pot, po and mo
files). You can load existing files, iterate through its entries, add, modify
entries, comments or metadata, etc. or create new po files from scratch.

polib supports out of the box any version of python ranging from 2.4 to latest
3.X version.

polib is pretty stable now and is used by many opensource projects.

polib is completely free and opensource, the license used is the MIT license.
It was developed back in 2006 by David Jean Louis and it is still actively
maintained.

Updated databases/couchdb to 1.3.0

(jperkin)

2013-04-24 12:22:38 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update databases/couchdb to 1.3.0.  Changes since 1.2.1:

Version 1.3.0
-------------

HTTP Interface:

* No longer rewrites the X-CouchDB-Requested-Path during recursive calls to the
  rewriter.
* Limit recursion depth in the URL rewriter. Defaults to a maximum of 100
  invocations but is configurable.
* Fix _session for IE7.
* Added Server-Sent Events protocol to db changes API. See
  http://www.w3.org/TR/eventsource/ for details.
* Make password hashing synchronous when using the /_config/admins API.
* Include user name in show/list ETags.
* Experimental support for Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). See
  http://www.w3.org/TR/cors/ for details.

Replicator:

* The replicator will use a new server-wide UUID in checkpoint IDs to
improve the chances of an efficient resume.

Storage System:

* Fixed unnecessary conflict when deleting and creating a
  document in the same batch.

View Server:

* Additional response headers may be varied prior to send().
* GetRow() is now side-effect free.

Futon:

* Disabled the link to the Futon test suite. These tests were causing problems
when run from a browser, and are now available via the CLI instead.
* Added view request duration to Futon.
* Disable buttons for actions that the user doesn't have permissions to.

Security:

* Passwords are now hashed using the PBKDF2 algorithm with a configurable work
  factor.

Test Suite:

* Moved the JS test suite to the CLI.
* Improved tracebacks printed by the JS CLI tests.
* Improved the reliability of a number of tests.

UUID Algorithms:

* Added the utc_id algorithm.

URL Rewriter & Vhosts:

* Database name is encoded during rewriting (allowing embedded /'s, etc).
* Reset rewrite counter on new request, avoiding unnecessary request failures
due to bogus rewrite limit reports.

Build System:

* C/C++ compiler detection has been improved.
* Autoconf v2.63 is now required if building from Git checkout directly. See
  DEVELOPERS file for more details.
* Fixed issue in couchdb script where stopped status returns before process
  exits.

Version 1.2.2
-------------

HTTP Interface:

* Reset rewrite counter on new request, avoiding unnecessary request failures
due to bogus rewrite limit reports.

Build System:

* Fixed issue in couchdb script where stopped status returns before process
  exits.

Updated sysutils/cdrtools to 3.01alpha14

(wiz)

2013-04-24 09:40:38 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 3.01a14:

All:

- Fixed a typo in include/schily/stat.h related to nanosecond
handling for NetBSD and OpenBSD

- New autoconf tests for sys/capability.h and cap_*() functions
from Linux -lcap

WARNING: If you do not see this:

checking for cap_get_proc in -lcap... yes
checking for cap_get_proc... yes
checking for cap_set_proc... yes
checking for cap_set_flag... yes
checking for cap_clear_flag... yes

your Linux installation is insecure in case you ever use the
command "setcap" to set up file capabilities for executable commands.

Note that cdrtools (as any other command) need to be capabylity aware
in order to avoid security leaks with enhanced privileges. In most
cases, privileges are only needed for a very limited set of operations.
If cdrtools (cdrecord, cdda2wav, readcd) are installed suid-root, the
functions to control privileges are in the basic set of supported
functions and thus there is no problem for any program to control it's
privileges - if they have been obtained via suid root, you are on a
secure system.

If you are however on an incomplete installation, that supports to
raise privileges via fcaps but that does not include developer support
for caps, the programs get the privileges without being able to know
about the additional privileges and thus keep them because they cannot
control them.

WARNING: If you are on a Linux system that includes support for
fcaps (this is seems to be true for all newer systems with
Linux >= 2.6.24) and there is no development support for capabilities
in the base system, you are on an inherently insecure system that allows
to compile and set up programs with enhanced privileges that cannot
control them.

In such a case, try to educate the security manager for the related
Linux distribution. Note that you may turn your private installation
into a secure installation by installing development support for libcap.

- The autofconf tests for broken Linux kernel headers now avoid to
warn for /usr/src/linux/include if this directory is missing.

- include/schily/priv.h now includes sys/capabilitiy.h if available.

Libscg:

- Trying to support suid-root-less installation of librscg users on Linux.
librscg now understands that a non-root program may be able to
create sockets for a privileged port.

Cdrecord:

- Trying to support suid-root-less installation of cdrecord on Linux.
NOTE: You need "file caps" support built into your Linux installation.

Call:

setcap cap_sys_resource,cap_dac_override,cap_sys_admin,cap_sys_nice,cap_net_bind_service,cap_ipc_lock,cap_sys_rawio+ep /opt/schily/bin/cdrecord
To set up the capabilities on Linux.

Cdda2wav (Maintained/enhanced by Jrg Schilling, originated by Heiko Ei゚feldt heiko@hexco.de):

- Trying to support suid-root-less installation of cdda2wav on Linux.
NOTE: You need "file caps" support built into your Linux installation.

Call:

setcap cap_dac_override,cap_sys_admin,cap_sys_nice,cap_net_bind_service,cap_sys_rawio+ep /opt/schily/bin/cdda2wav
To set up the capabilities on Linux.

Readcd:

- Trying to support suid-root-less installation of readcd on Linux.
NOTE: You need "file caps" support built into your Linux installation.

Call:

setcap cap_dac_override,cap_sys_admin,cap_net_bind_service,cap_sys_rawio+ep /opt/schily/bin/readcd
To set up the capabilities on Linux.

Scgcheck:

- Link now against $(LIB_CAP) also as librscg needs it on Linux

Scgskeleton:

- Link now against $(LIB_CAP) also as librscg needs it on Linux

Btcflash:

- Link now against $(LIB_CAP) also as librscg needs it on Linux

Mkisofs (Maintained/enhanced by Jrg Schilling since 1997, originated by Eric Youngdale):

- -new-dir-mode now just superseeds the effect of -dir-mode on
directories that have been "invented" by mkisofs.
This is a more intuitive behavior.

- Link now against $(LIB_CAP) also as librscg needs it on Linux

Moving ispell-* packages as discussed on tech-pkg@. Reasons being:

1) Shorter package name;
2) Be consistent with kde3-l18n-*, kde4-l10n-*, hunspell-*, aspell-*,
lang-* PKG_OPTIONS;
3) Simplify modifications to PKGNAME in some Makefiles;
4) Accordance with international language naming standards;

and rename the ispell-base package to ispell, to be consistent with aspell
and hunspell. Bump PKGREVISION where necessary.

Updated misc/py-anita to 1.30 [gson 2013-04-23]

(gson)

2013-04-23 17:16:45 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update misc/py-anita to 1.30.  Changes from 1.29:

Increase the default timeout for running the NetBSD test
suite from 2 hours to 3 hours.

Add support for installing the new "debug" set, and add a new
man page section on using anita for debugging NetBSD.

Organize the BUGS section of the man page into sections,
and add links to four more qemu 1.x regressions.

Add Kuya support, based on patch from Julio Merino.

  New command line option "--version".

Support booting i386 and amd64 from boot-com.iso instead
of the boot floppies, attaching a second virtual CD-ROM drive
for the install sets.  Enable with "--boot-from cdrom".

Fix the Anita 1.2 backwards compatibility Release class.

Also, satisfy the qemu dependency using emulators/qemu0 rather
than emulators/qemu because the latter does not work on NetBSD 5.

Update to 1.1.0. Bump ABI depends due to shlib major bump; but no packages use
this version yet.

Changes between 1.0.0 and 1.1.0:
--------------------------------

* Remove deprecated APIs and bump library version.
* Corrected use of dvbpsi_ValidPSISection() to not use b_syntax_indicator as check,
the function tries to always check the CRC32 of the given PSI section. Take care
to only use the function for PSI sections that have a CRC32 field. Use the function
  dvbpsi_has_CRC32() for this purpose.
* Remove workaround for checking CRC32 in TOT PSI table.
* Add function dvbpsi_CalculateCRC32() to calculate a CRC32 on the payload.
* Fix offset for description parsing in tables;
  - CAT
  - BAT
  - TOT
  - NIT
* New descriptor:
  - 0x54 content descriptor
* EIT: add NVOD event detection.

(imil)

2013-04-22 17:27:27 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Initial import of paris-traceroute, version 0.92, into the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

Paris Traceroute is a new version of the well-known network diagnosis and
measurement tool.

traceroute fails in the presence of routers that employ load balancing on
packet header fields. The failures lead to the discovery of inaccurate and
incomplete paths, that may mislead operators during problem diagnosis and
result in erroneous internet maps.

Paris traceroute, by controling packet header contents, obtains a more precise
picture of the actual routes that packets follow.

* xmlto is just required to docbook_docs, move dependency to `doc' option.
* remove buildlinking to gobject-introspection, it is alrady in option.mk
  conditionally.
* gdk_pixbuf2 is really requied by this package, drop specification of `build'
  dependency.
* exactly specify required glib2 version.
* from NEWS, libnotify>=7.0 use GBus instead of dbus-glib, so drop dependency
  on dbus and dbus-glib.
* change dependency on gtk3 to `build',  it is just required to test build.

buildlink3.mk
* change ABI_DEPENDS to reasonable version.
* drop `doc' and `introspection' option condition handling , it will not affect
to packages usind this file or should be handled packages by themselves.
* drop buildlinking to dbus and dbus-glib and add to gdk-pixbuf2, same reason
  as Makefile.

options.mk
* gtk-doc documents are already in release taball, so dtk-doc is not required
to build, reuse as docbook-docs to match PLIST.doc condition.
* exactly specify required gobject introspection version.

add & enable monitoring

(imil)

2013-04-22 09:39:21 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Initial import of monitoring, version 0.9.5, into the NetBSD Packages
Collection.

Monitoring is an API with a DSL feel to write monitoring daemons in Python.

Monitoring works well for the following tasks:

* to be notified when incidents happen (email, XMPP, ZeroMQ...)
* automatic actions to be taken (restart, rm, git pull...)
* to collect system statistics for further processing e.g. graphs
* tie into existing/third-party Python code
* play along nicely with existing deployment/configuration ecosystem
  (fabric/cuisine)

Overview

* monitoring DSL: declarative programming to define monitoring strategy
* wide spectrum: from data collection and incident reporting to taking
  automatic actions
* Small, easy to read, a single file API
* Revised BSD License

Use Cases

* ensure service availability: test and start/stop when problems
* collect system statistics/data, log locally and/or remotely
* alert on system/service health, take actions

(imil)

2013-04-21 21:31:34 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Initial import of cuisine, version 0.5.8, into the NetBSD Packages Collection.

Fabric is an incredible tool to automate administration of remote machines.
As Fabric's functions are rather low-level, you'll probably quickly see a need
for more high-level functions such as add/remove users and groups,
install/upgrade packages, etc.

Cuisine is a small set of functions that sit on top of Fabric, to abstract
common administration operations such as file/dir operations, user/group
creation, package install/upgrade, making it easier to write portable
administration and deployment scripts.

Cuisine's features are:

* Small, easy to read, a single file API:
  <object>_<operation>() e.g. dir_exists(location) tells if there is a
remote directory at the given location.
* Covers file/dir operations, user/group operations, package operations
* Text processing and template functions
* All functions are lazy: they will actually only do things when the change
  is required.

Import p5-Mail-POP3Client-2.18 as mail/p5-Mail-POP3Client.

This is a POP3 client module for perl5.  It provides an object-oriented
interface to a POP3 server.  It can be used to write perl-based
biff clients, mail readers, or whatever.  See the inline POD doco
for more details.  (perldoc Mail::POP3Client)
