Updated security/sks to 1.1.4

(pettai)

2012-11-10 14:24:45 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

1.1.4
  - Fix X-HKP-Results-Count so that limit=0 returns no results, but include
the header, to let a client poll for how many results exist, without
    retrieving any. See:
    http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/sks-devel/2010-11/msg00015.html
  - Add UPGRADING document to explain upgrading Berkeley DB without
rebuilding. System bdb versions often change with new SKS releases
    for .deb and .rpm distros.
  - Cleanup build errors for bdb/bdb_stubs.c. Patch from Mike Doty
  - Update cryptokit from version 1.0 to 1.5 without requiring OASIS
build system or other additional dependencies
  - build, fastbuild, & pbuild fixed to ignore signals USR1 and USR2
  - common.ml and reconSC.ml were using different values for minumimum
compatible version. This has been fixed.
  - Added new server mime-types, and trying another default document (Issue 6)
In addition to the new MIME types added in 1.1.[23], the server now
looks over a list and and serves the first index file that it finds
    Current list: index.html, index.htm, index.xhtml, index.xhtm, index.xml.
  - options=mr now works on get as well as (v)index operations. This is
    described in http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-shaw-openpgp-hkp-00
    sections 3.2.1.1. and 5.1.
  - Updated copyright notices in source files
  - Added sksclient tool, similar to old pksclient
  - Add no-cache instructions to HTTP response (in order for reverse proxies
not to cache the output from SKS)
  - Use unique timestamps for keydb to reduce occurrances of Ptree corruption.
  - Added Interface specifications (.mli files) for modules that were missing
    them
  - Yaron pruned some no longer needed source files from the tree.
  - Improved the HTTP status and HTTP error codes returned for various
situations and added checks for more error conditions.
  - Add a suffix to version (+) indicating non-release or development builds
  - Add an option to specify the contact details of the server administrator
that shows in the status page of the server. The information is in the
form of an OpenPGP KeyID and set by server_contact: in sksconf
  - Add a `sks version` command to provide information on the setup.
  - Added configuration settings for the remaining database table files. If
no pagesize settings are in sksconf, SKS will use 2048 bytes for key
and 512 for ptree. The remainining files' pagesize will be set by BDB
based on the filesystem settings, typically this is 4096 bytes.
See sampleConfig/sksconf.typical for settings recommended by db_tuner.
  - Makefile: Added distclean target. Dropped autogenerated file from VCS.
  - Allow tuning BDB environment before creation in [fast]build and pbuild.
If DB_CONFIG exists in basedir, copy it to DB dir before DB creation.
Preference is given to DB_CONFIG.KDB and DB_CONFIG.PTree over DB_CONFIG.
  - Add support for Elliptic Curve Public keys (ECDSA, ECDH)
  - Add check if an upload is a revocation certificate, and if it is,
produce an error message tailored for this.

1.1.3
  - Makefile fix for 'make dep' if .depend does not exist. Issue #4
  - Makefile fix: sks and sks_add_mail fail to link w/o '-ccopt -pg'
    Issue #23
  - Added -disable_mailsync and -disable_log_diffs to sks.pod
  - Added file extensions .css, .jpeg, .htm, .es, .js, .xml, .shtml, .xhtm,
.xhtml and associated MIME types to server code. Part of Issue #6
  - Added sample configuration files in sampleConfig directory
  - Added sample web page files in sampleWeb directory. Issues #7, 9, 19
  - Allow requests for non-official options hget, hash, status, & clean to
    be preceded by '-x'. Closes issues #10, 11, 13, & 14.
  - Allow &search with long subkey ID (16 digit) and subkey fingerprint
subkey lookup was failing with other than a short key ID. However,
public key lookup was working with short and long key ID and fingerprints.
This patch makes subkey lookup behave the same as full key lookup.
    http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-users/2012-January/043495.html
  - Patch recon script so that POST includes HTTP version number.

Only match swig <2.0, for now.

While swig2 may or may not work for various packages, 1) it installs
swig2, which isn't API-compatible with calling 'swig' (since it won't
be found) and 2) it hasn't been validated.

Additional implementation of Ideographic Variation Sequences

IPAex Font has been implemented several Ideographic Variation Sequences, including different glyph shapes between JIS X 0213:2000 and JIS X 0213:2004. In IPAex Font Version 002.01, IVSs are added to default glyph, consequently total number of IVSs changed to 352. The default glyphs, which appear without IVS environment, correspond to the exemplified shapes in JIS X 0213:2004.

Noted that some IVSs in 352 sequences of IPAex Gothic Font have same glyph shapes for different sequences, because some differences of glyph shapes in Mincho font design have no meaning in Gothic font design.

Import swig-2.0.8nb1 as devel/swig2.

This package was created by Jason Bacon in wip.
Note that this is nb1 because it has been in wip as nb1.

SWIG (Simplified Wrapper and Interface Generator)

SWIG is a compiler that integrates C and C++ with languages including
Perl, Python, Tcl, Guile, Mzscheme, Java, Ruby, PHP, and Ocaml.

SWIG reads annotated C/C++ header files and creates wrapper code (glue
code) in order to make the corresponding C/C++ libraries available to
the listed languages, or to extend C/C++ programs with a scripting
language.

This is version 2 of swig.

-pedantic in gcc 4.5.3 (NetBSD 6) is less pedantic than
in gcc 4.1.3 (NetBSD 5.*) aka, -pedantic causes build
failures when including gnutls on older versions of gcc.

Should clear up the build issues on NetBSD 5.x

Note update of www/drupal7 package to 7.17.

2012-11-08 13:25:53 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update drupal7 to 7.17.

Drupal 7.17, 2012-11-07
-----------------------
- Changed the default value of the '404_fast_html' variable to have a DOCTYPE
  declaration.
- Made it possible to use associative arrays for the 'items' variable in
  theme_item_list().
- Fixed a bug which prevented required form elements without a title from being
given an "error" class when the form fails validation.
- Prevented duplicate HTML IDs from appearing when two forms are displayed on
the same page and one of them is submitted with invalid data (minor markup
  change).
- Fixed a bug which prevented Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 upgrades on sites which had
stale data in the Upload module's database tables.
- Fixed a bug in the States API which prevented certain types of form elements
  from being disabled when requested.
- Allowed aggregator feed items with author names longer than 255 characters to
have a truncated version saved to the database (rather than causing a fatal
  error).
- Allowed aggregator feed items to have URLs longer than 255 characters
(schema change which results in several columns in the Aggregator module's
database tables changing from VARCHAR to TEXT fields).
- Added hook_taxonomy_term_view() and standardized the process for rendering
taxonomy terms to invoke hook_entity_view() and otherwise make it consistent
with other entities (API change: http://drupal.org/node/1808870).
- Added hook_entity_view_mode_alter() to allow modules to change entity view
modes on display (API addition: http://drupal.org/node/1833086).
- Fixed a bug which made database queries running a "LIKE" query on blob fields
fail on PostgreSQL databases. This caused errors during the Drupal 6 to
  Drupal 7 upgrade.
- Changed the hook_menu() entry for Drupal's rss.xml page to prevent extra path
components from being accidentally passed to the page callback function (data
  structure change).
- Removed a non-standard "name" attribute from Drupal's default Content-Type
  header for file downloads.
- Fixed the theme settings form to properly clean up submitted values in
$form_state['values'] when the form is submitted (data structure change).
- Fixed an inconsistency by removing the colon from the end of the label on
multi-valued form fields (minor string change).
- Added support for 'weight' in hook_field_widget_info() to allow modules to
control the order in which widgets are displayed in the Field UI.
- Updated various tables in the OpenID and Book modules to use the default
"empty table" text pattern (string change).
- Added proxy server support to drupal_http_request().
- Added "lang" attributes to language links, to better support screen readers.
- Fixed double occurrence of a "ul" HTML tag on secondary local tasks in the
  Seven theme (markup change).
- Fixed bugs which caused taxonomy vocabulary and shortcut set titles to be
double-escaped. The fix replaces the taxonomy vocabulary overview page and
"Edit shortcuts" menu items' title callback entries in hook_menu() with new
functions that do not escape HTML characters (data structure change).
- Modified the Update manager module to allow drupal.org to collect usage
statistics for individual modules and themes, rather than only for entire
  projects.
- Modified the node listing database query on Drupal's default front page to
add table aliases for better query altering (this is a data structure change
affecting code which implements hook_query_alter() on this query).
- Improved the translatability of the "Field type(s) in use" message on the
  modules page (admin-facing string change).
- Fixed a regression which caused a "call to undefined function
drupal_find_base_themes()" fatal error under rare circumstances.
- Numerous API documentation improvements.
- Additional automated test coverage.

Updated databases/guile-pg to 0.44

(gdt)

2012-11-07 13:45:36 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 0.44.  Because guile-pg now works with mainstream guile,
switch from guile16 to guile (currently 1.8), and remove the special
accomodations for 1.6.

- 0.44 | 2012-04-20

  - distribution now .tar.xz

If you have GNU tar, you can use "tar xf" and it will DTRT.
If not, you can use "xz -dc TARBALL | tar xf -" to unpack.

  - bugfix: ‘pg-get-copy-data’ handles unspecified ‘async?’

Previously, if ‘async?’ was unspecified, it was incorrectly
interpreted as true (i.e., "not false").  Now, if unspecified,
it is interpreted correctly as false.

  - testing slack for pre-8.1 ‘pg-client-encoding’

Previously, the types-table test was too strict when checking
the ‘pg-client-encoding’ return value, expecting "UTF-8" only.
Now, it accepts also "UNICODE", which is the norm for PostgreSQL
prior to 8.1.

  - support for ‘make check KEEPD=1’

If you run "make check" many times, you can avoid daemon bounce
overhead by specifying ‘KEEPD=1’, which inhibits daemon killing.

  - maintenance tools
    - GNU Autoconf 2.68
    - GNU Automake 1.11.5
    - GNU Libtool 2.4.2
    - Guile-BAUX 20120309.1509.1c4bb92
    - SNUGGLE 0.1

- 0.43 | 2012-02-06

[PBI] means "WARNING: potentially backward-incompatible".

  - bugfix: ‘sql-quote’ translates backslash (#\\) to ‘\134’

Previously, backslash characters were passed through
unmodified.  Now, they are translated to the string "\134"
(i.e., the four characters ‘#\\’, ‘#\1’, ‘#\3’, ‘#\4’).

  - [PBI] ‘bytea’ stringifier outputs only one backslash

If the ‘bytea’ stringifier from ‘(database postgres-types)’ is
used standalone, this represents a BACKWARD INCOMPATIBLE change.
In the normal case, however, where the stringifier is used in
conjunction with ‘sql-quote’, this change is transparent.

  - new (database postgres-qcons) proc: string-xrep

Some versions of Guile emit ‘\xXX’ to represent the octet with
hex value XX when constructing the external representation of a
string, for certain octets.  Furthermore, some versions of
PostgreSQL cannot grok such escape sequences anyway.  The new
procedure ‘string-xrep’ is like ‘object->string’ (for a string
arg) except that it explicitly emits the octet itself, except
for ‘#\\’ and and ‘#\"’, which are backslash-escaped as normal.

  - ‘(database postgres-qcons) idquote’ no longer emits ‘\xXX’

Before, ‘idquote’ used ‘object->string’ internally, and thus
suffered from the problems described in the preceding NEWS
entry.  Now, it uses ‘string-xrep’.

  - ‘(database postgres-col-defs) validate-def’ more permissive

A column name may now be any symbol that does not contain
whitespace.  Previously it was restricted to a symbol whose
constituent characters were alphanumeric or underscore.

This change makes Guile-PG less strict (in some sense) than
PostgreSQL, which imposes other rules.  Overarching is the
recommendation from PostgreSQL to consistently use a "delimited
identifier" (aka "quoted identifier") rather than a naked name.
That's what ‘idquote’ and ‘string-xrep’, both used extensively
in Guile-PG, do.  See section "Identifiers and Key Words" in
chapter "SQL Syntax" in the PostgreSQL documentation, for more
information.

  - ‘pgtable-manager’ and ‘pgtable-worker’ likewise relaxed

These use ‘(database postgres-col-defs)’ procs and new proc
‘string-xrep’ internally, and thus benefit from the changes
mentioned in the preceding NEWS entries.  Notably, table and
column names are less constrained.  For example, see file
test/types-table.scm, proc ‘test-m2’.

[Probably "relaxed" is not as good as "strictness relaxed and
multi-byte-fu enhanced", but that does not fit on one line.]

  - fake cluster created on-demand for "make check"

In addition to a fake installation, "make check" now also
creates a cluster under test/fake-cluster/ configured for
Unix-domain connections, and kicks/kills the daemon around the
actual ‘runtest TEST’ invocations.  This means it is no longer
necessary to set env var ‘PGDATABASE’.  In fact, that and env
var ‘PGHOST’ are now silently ignored, since ‘runtest’ clobbers
them internally.

If you previously tested Guile-PG against different PostgreSQL
versions by varying ‘PGDATABASE’, you now need to vary env var
‘INITDB’ instead, and zonk the cluster before the "make check"
invocation.  Something like:

  $(MAKE) delete-cluster
  $(MAKE) check DEBUG=1 INITDB=/a/particular/initdb

in directory test/ would be fine.  See README section "Testing".

- 0.42 | 2011-10-04

  - bugfix: "make check" no longer clobbers installed file

For Guile versions that require a Scheme wrapper for .so loading
(i.e., Guile 1.8 and later), "make check" does a fake install w/
a ‘prefix’ in the build tree.  Unfortunately, in Guile-PG 0.41,
that dir was not specified to the Scheme wrapper, resulting in
its installation under the "real" (as determined / set by the
configure script) ‘prefix’.

The system would reamin in this inconsistent state, with the
wrapper pointing into the build tree, until "make install", at
which point everything was resynchronized.  Obviously, if you
never do "make install", the problem persists (silently, until
the build tree is deleted).

This has now been fixed.  If you did a "make check" but NOT
"make install" of Guile-PG 0.41, the best way forward is to
configure Guile-PG 0.42 and then "make install; make uninstall".

  - ‘pg-print’ now does ‘fflush’ after each operation

This probably kills performance, but it is safer, given Guile's
direct use of ‘write(2)’ et al.

  - ‘pg-set-client-encoding!’ also accepts symbolic encoding

- 0.41 | 2011-09-29

  - Bugs fixed

    - Make ‘idquote’ special-case ‘*’ in second part.

was: (display (idquote 'a.*)) |= "a"."*"
now: (display (idquote 'a.*)) |= "a".*

    - Call ‘string-append’ with strings, not symbols.

We no longer rely on this particular Guile 1.4 slack.

  - Portability fixes (tested w/ Guile 1.8.7)

With the following (and other, non-user-visible) changes, "make
check" no longer displays "foo is deprecated" messages with
Guile 1.8.7.  If you see them for your system, for either "make
check" or subsequent Guile-PG use, please report that as a bug.

    - Don't do "defer/allow ints" for Guile 1.8+.

    - Revamped Scheme object to C byte range for Guile 1.8+

Access to Scheme string representation was curtailed in Guile
1.8 (API available but deprecated), so all operations that pass
a C byte range to libpq functions now incur an extra conversion
step.  The unfortunate user-visible result is performance loss.

  - Planned retirement
    - procedure ‘(database postgres) pg-getline’
    - procedure ‘(database postgres) pg-getlineasync’

These procedures are obsoleted by ‘pg-get-copy-data’ and
WILL BE REMOVED by 2012-12-31.

  - New fluid to control ‘(database postgres-qcons) sql-quote’

The fluid ‘sql-quote-auto-E?’ controls whether or not
‘sql-quote’ should check for ‘\’ (backslash) characters and
prefix an "E" in that case.  This is relevant if you use
PostgreSQL 8.2+.

  - New support for "hex format" in ‘bytea’ objectifier

PostgreSQL 9.0 introduces a more efficient "hex format" for
‘bytea’ output.  This is now recognized and parsed, falling back
to handling the traditional "escape format" if not recognized.

  - Doc improvements
    - Fix omission: Document ‘pg-get-copy-data’ arg ‘async?’.
    - Indices merged into one
    - Builtin type converters listed and indexed
    - Builtin type converter array variants listed

  - For ‘make check DEBUG=1’, display the guile(1) invocation.

  - Tested w/ latest server versions: 8.[01234], 9.[01]

Additionally, the entries in file test/OK now include the
associated Guile-PG version, and some include a subheading
"other pg" to list the precise server version numbers.

- 0.40 | 2011-06-05
  - Changes to configuration
    - Bug fixed in finding ‘pg_encoding_to_char’, ‘pg_char_to_encoding’
    - Now seeks and arranges to use <postgresql/foo> headers
    - No longer clobbers user vars ‘CPPFLAGS’, ‘LDFLAGS’
  - Changes to build / test / install
    - Bug fixed: Delete everything on "make uninstall"
    - Scheme code now punified for install
    - Add "no C module" mode for build / install
    - Changes to "make check"
      - Flaky symlinking replaced w/ partial in-tree installation
      - runtest now honors env var ‘GUILE’
      - runtest now shows loaded files if env var ‘DEBUG’ set
  - New (database postgres-qcons) proc: idquote
  - Docs now explicitly UTF-8
  - Tested on more platforms (see file test/OK)
  - Maintenance uses AAL 2.68, 1.11.1, 2.4; Guile-BAUX 20110605.1656

File::KeePass gives nearly raw data access. There are a few utility
methods for manipulating groups and entries. More advanced manipulation
can easily be layered on top by other modules.

File::KeePass is only used for reading and writing databases and
for keeping passwords scrambled while in memory. Programs dealing

Updated devel/guile-www to 2.35

(gdt)

2012-11-07 00:50:06 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 2.35.

- 2.35 | 2012-11-06

  - support for "make installcheck"

This does "make check" at its core, so the same env vars apply.
Obviously, you should do "make install" first for sane results.

  - ‘receive-response’ spec takes thunk for ‘custom’ handling

This means that instead of using:

(list 'custom (values P1 P2 P3 P4))

to construct a ‘receive-response’ spec, you can use:

(list 'custom (lambda () (values P1 P2 P3 P4)))

In fact, this is now the preferred way, as support for using
‘values’ directly is now deemed a misfeature and marked for
eventual removal (see below).

  - tested against Guile 2.0.6

There are some deprecation warnings, however.

  - MARKED FOR REMOVAL

    - 2013-05-15 support for values in ‘receive-response’ spec

Out of an explicit ‘call-with-values’ context, Guile 2.x will
silently discard all values but the first if the continuation
expects one value only (the common case).

(cons 0 (values 1 2)) => (0 . 1)

Thus, the ‘receive-response’ spec constructed by:

(list 'custom (values P1 P2 P3 P4))

fails to preserve P2, P3, P4 (w/ Guile 2.x).  See above for
thunk support, the future-proof way to specify ‘custom’ procs.

  - bootstrap tools upgrade
    - GNU Autoconf 2.69
    - GNU Automake 1.12.4
    - Guile-BAUX 20121026.1208.c21074a

- 2.34 | 2012-03-29

  - bug fix: unbotch ‘upath->filename-proc’
  - bug fix: unbotch ‘log-http-response-proc’

In Guile-WWW 2.33 (2012-02-29), these procs were changed to use
(ice-9 optargs), but the change was botched.

  - bug fix: ‘(www http) http:post-form’ reserves ‘#\&’ and ‘#\=’

That is, in the absense of upload specs, the urlencoding for the
key names and values now also includes ampersand and equal sign,
as those used to delimit pairs and separate key and value within
a pair, respectively.

  - bug fix: ‘url-coding:encode’ outputs two hex digits for 0-15

Previously, octets 0 through 15 were output as "%0" through
"%f", respectively.  Now, they are "%00" through "%0f".

  - portability fix: big dishing loop handles #f ‘sockaddr:path’

For Unix domain sockets, some Guile versions have ‘sockaddr:path’
sometimes return the empty string, others ‘#f’.

  - ‘(www url) url:parse’ can handle IPv6 addresses

Handling doesn't imply validation, however.  For example:
(url:host (url:parse "http://fool@[::ffff:bogus.0.2.1]:42/foo"))
=> "[::ffff:bogus.0.2.1]"

  - ‘(... answer) hqf<-upath’ more efficient

The char-set computation has been moved to load-time.

  - ‘(... cookies) simple-parse-cookies’ takes optional arg SEP

By default, tokens are ‘#\,’ (comma)-separated.  You can use SEP
to specify another character, e.g., ‘#\;’ (semicolon).

  - new ‘(www cgi) cgi:init’ option: cookies-split-on-semicolon

If the server provides the CGI script with a "Netscape style"
(i.e., old and deprecated) set of cookies, you can use this
option to split them.

  - ‘(www cgi) cgi:getenv’ recognizes some more "idiomatic" names

The following keys now are recognized by ‘cgi:getenv’ (that is,
they no longer signal "unrecognized key" error): ‘server-name’,
‘server-software’, ‘server-protocol’, ‘auth-type’, ‘http-accept’.
Also, the manual now marks those keys that either are aliases,
or return parts of the associated value, of these idiomatic names.

  - new (... parse-request) proc: receive-request

This uses the same underlying machinery as ‘receive-response’
from (www http), and thus sports the same features.

Additionally, there is a new ‘request’ type with five accessor
procs: request-{method,upath,protocol-version,headers,body} and
the new predicate ‘request?’.

  - new (... log) proc: string<-sockaddr

This formats AF_UNIX or AF_INET addresses (including port).

  - new (... answer) proc: compose-response

This is a stripped down variant of ‘mouthpiece’.  It uses the
same underlying machinery as ‘send-request’ from (www http) and
thus sports the same features.

  - MARKED FOR REMOVAL

    - 2012-12-31 module (www main)

    - 2012-12-31 (www url) procs
      - url:address
      - url:unknown

    - 2013-02-28 (... parse-request) procs
      - read-first-line
      - read-headers
      - skip-headers
      - read-body

    - 2013-02-28 (www http) procs
      - http:head
      - http:get

  - test suite expanded

Previously, there was just one test.  Now, there are several,
and they are in directory v/ (for "validation", "verification",
"vouchsafed", and so on).

  - doc license upgraded to GNU FDL 1.3

  - maintenance uses Guile-BAUX 20120309.1509.1c4bb92

- 2.33 | 2012-02-29

  - distribution now .tar.xz

If you have GNU tar, you can use "tar xf" and it will DTRT.
If not, you can use "xz -dc TARBALL | tar xf -" to unpack.

  - configure no longer checks for some widely-available modules

The modules ‘(ice-9 and-let-star)’, ‘(ice-9 rdelim)’ and
‘(ice-9 regex)’ have been widely-available since Guile 1.4.x.

  - configure uses SNUGGLE for cross-Guile portability

SNUGGLE is Free Software: <http://www.gnuvola.org/software/>.
It provides ‘build-aux/snuggle.m4’, which is more amicable than
the various ‘guile.m4’ in the wild.

  - dropped ‘(www server-utils answer) string<-header-components’

This was pre-announced below in Guile-WWW 2.28 (2010-06-22).

  - changes to (www http)

    - bug fix: ‘http:request’ sends message body as-is

This procedure used to erroneously send ‘CRLF’ after each string
specified in BODY.  Now, it sends BODY only.

    - ‘http:status-ok?’ also accepts numeric arg

E.g., ‘(http:status-ok? 200)’ and ‘(http:status-ok? "200")’
both return ‘#t’.

    - ‘http:request’ also accepts a symbolic method

Of course, a string is still acceptable.  Additionally, it is
now an error if ‘method’ is neither string nor symbol.

    - new procs: ‘send-request’, ‘receive-response’

These give (www http) a more asynchronous feel; it is now
possible to implement pipelining, connection re-use, etc.
Support for "chunked" transfer encoding and other HTTP 1.1 bits
is built-in, although you can explicitly downgrade to 1.0 if you
wish.

Other features: (optional) caller-directed i/o to reduce data
motion; support for ‘u8vector’ body (see example in the docs);
support for custom body type; caller-specifiable header-name
normalization; procedure names w/o "http:" prefix :-D.

    - message field types now documented

The message object returned by ‘receive-response’ has a numeric
status-code and header names normalized by the caller.

In contrast, for backward compatability, the message object
returned by ‘http:request’ has a string status-code and
lower-case header names.

(Header names are symbolic in any case.)

    - new fluid: protocol-version

This affects how ‘http:request’ calls ‘send-request’ internally.
It also impacts ‘http:get’, ‘http:head’, and ‘http:post-form’,
which call ‘http:request’.

The default value is ‘(1 . 0)’, i.e., HTTP 1.0.  The idea is to
support backward compatability out of the box, but allow users
to experimentally do:

  (set-fluid! protocol-version '(1 . 1))

without having to modify their current code.  (New code
should use ‘send-request’ and ‘receive-response’ directly.)
This is a transitional feature of Guile-WWW 2.x; 3.x will
drop ‘http:request’ (et al) along with the need for this
fluid, entirely.

  - (www cgi) recognizes ‘application/x-www-form-urlencoded’ better

Before, Content-Type recognition was over-constrained, failing
to handle parameters (usually of the form "; charset=...").
Things are now more relaxed.

  - documentation now explicitly UTF-8

This has no immediate impact, but if you regenerate the .info,
it may be possible that the makeinfo you use will generate nicer
quotes, e.g., ‘foo’ instead of `foo'.  Time will tell.

  - maintenance: Autoconf 2.68, Automake 1.11.3, Guile-BAUX 20111227

mk/checksum: build time speedup for packages with a large number of patches

Revisions pulled up:
- mk/checksum/checksum                                          1.13

  Module Name:    pkgsrc
  Committed By:  jmmv
  Date:          Sat Oct 13 15:31:23 UTC 2012

  Modified Files:
          pkgsrc/mk/checksum: checksum

  Log Message:
Speed up the algorithm to determine the files left to check.

This change modifies the algorithm used to keep track of the files that
have not yet been checksummed to use a simple loop instead of shell pattern
  matching.

For packages with few distinfo entries, either way yields the same result
as the list of files to check is very short.  But for those packages with
hundreds of distinfo entries (vim, I'm looking at you), the difference is
huge.  In my old macppc machine, the checksum of vim used to take around
40 minutes and now it takes ~35 seconds.  The difference is also clearly
visible in my faster amd64 machine (although I haven't bothered to time it).

2012-11-05 23:08:06 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

v1.1.1 - Oct 31, 2012
---------------------

Bugfixes:
        * Fixed assertion failing when asking directly for a wildcard name.

v1.1.1-rc1 - Oct 23, 2012
-------------------------

Bugfixes:
        * Crash after IXFR in certain cases when adding RRSIG in an IXFR.
        * Fixed behaviour when incoming IXFR removes a zone cut. Previously
occluded names now become properly visible. Previously lead to a
crash when the server was asked for the previously occluded name.
        * Fixed handling of zero-length strings in text zone dump. Caused the
          compilation to fail.
        * Fixed TSIG algorithm name comparison - the names should be in
          canonical form.
        * Fixed handling unknown RR types with type less than 251.

Features:
        * Improved compression of packets. Out-of-zone dnames present in RDATA
          were not compressed.
        * Slave zones are now automatically refreshed after startup.
        * Proper response to IXFR/UDP query (returns SOA in Authority section).

This is a pure python implementation of the DES encryption algorithm.
It is in pure python to avoid portability issues, since most DES
implementations are programmed in C (for performance reasons).

Triple DES class is also implemented, utilising the DES base. Triple DES
is either DES-EDE3 with a 24 byte key, or DES-EDE2 with a 16 byte key.
See the "About triple DES" section below more info on this algorithm.

The code below is not written for speed or performance, so not for those
needing a fast des implementation, but rather a handy portable solution
ideal for small usage.

  Log Message:
Update fetchmail and fetchmailconf to version 6.3.22.

  # SECURITY FIXES
  * for CVE-2012-3482:
NTLM: fetchmail mistook an error message that the server sent in response to
an NTLM request for protocol exchange, tried to decode it, and crashed while
reading from a bad memory location.
Also, with a carefully crafted NTLM challenge packet sent from the server, it
would be possible that fetchmail conveyed confidential data not meant for the
server through the NTLM response packet.
Fix: Detect base64 decoding errors, validate the NTLM challenge, and abort
NTLM authentication in case of error.
    See fetchmail-SA-2012-02.txt for further details.
    Reported by J. Porter Clark.
  * for CVE-2011-3389:
SSL/TLS (wrapped and STARTTLS): fetchmail used to disable a countermeasure
against a certain kind of attack against cipher block chaining initialization
    vectors (SSL_OP_DONT_INSERT_EMPTY_FRAGMENTS).
Whether this creates an exploitable situation, depends on the server and the
    negotiated ciphers.
As a precaution, fetchmail 6.3.22 enables the countermeasure, by clearing
    SSL_OP_DONT_INSERT_EMPTY_FRAGMENTS.
NOTE that this can cause connections to certain non-conforming servers to
fail, in which case you can set the environment variable
FETCHMAIL_DISABLE_CBC_IV_COUNTERMEASURE to any non-empty value when starting
fetchmail to re-instate the compatibility option at the expense of security.
    Reported by Apple Product Security.
For technical details, refer to <http://www.openssl.org/~bodo/tls-cbc.txt>.
    See fetchmail-SA-2012-01.txt for further details.

  # BUG FIX
  * The Server certificate: message in verbose mode now appears on stdout like the
remainder of the output. Reported by Henry Jensen, to fix Debian Bug #639807.
  * The GSSAPI-related autoconf code now matches gssapi.c better, and uses
a different check to look for GSS_C_NT_HOSTBASED_SERVICE.
This fixes the GSSAPI-enabled build on NetBSD 6 Beta.

  # CHANGES
  * On systems where SSLv2_client_method isn't defined in OpenSSL (such as
newer Debian, and Ubuntu starting with 11.10 oneiric ocelot), don't
reference it (to fix the build) and if configured, print a run-time error
that the OS does not support SSLv2. Fixes Debian Bug #622054,
but note that that bug report has a more thorough patch that does away with
    SSLv2 altogether.
  * The security and errata notices fetchmail-{EN,SA}-20??-??.txt are now
under the more relaxed CC BY-ND 3.0 license (the noncommercial clause
was dropped). The Creative Commons address was updated.
  * The Python-related Makefile.am parts were simplified to avoid an automake
    1.11.X bug around noinst_PYTHON, Automake Bug #10995.
  * Configuring fetchmail without SSL now triggers a configure warning,
and asks the user to consider running configure --with-ssl.

  # WORKAROUNDS
  * Some servers, notably Zimbra, return A1234 987 FETCH () in response to
a header request, in the face of message corruption.  fetchmail now treats
these as temporary errors. Report and Patch by Mikulas Patocka, Red Hat.
  * Some servers, notably Microsoft Exchange, return "A0009 OK FETCH completed."
without any header in response to a header request for meeting reminder
messages (with a "meeting.ics" attachment). fetchmail now treats these as
transient errors.  Report by John Connett, Patch by Sunil Shetye.

Update to 1.07

Upstream changes:
1.07  Thu Nov  1 12:47:00 2012
- New maintainer: Ron Savage
- Pre-emptive apologies for any changes which are not back-compat. No such problems are expected, but the
introduction of new methods may disconcert some viewers.
- Fix RT#78858, reported by Gene Boggs. Audit code for similar problems.
- Fix RT#79506. reported by Ron Savage.
- Rename ChangeLog to CHANGES, and add Changelog.ini.
- Replace all uses of cyclicity_fault() and Carp::croak with die.
- Remove unused methods: decommission_root(), cyclicity_allowed(), cyclicity_fault(), inaugurate_root(),
no_cyclicity() and _update_links(). OK - cyclicity_fault() was called once. It just died.
- Add methods: format_node(), hashref2string(), is_root(), node2string(), tree2string().
tree2string($opts, $node) - unlike draw_ascii_tree() - can optionally print the tree starting at any node.
Override format_node(), hashref2string(), and node2string() if desired.
- Reformat the POD big-time.
- Add Build.PL.
- Re-write Makefile.PL.
- Remove use vars(@ISA $Debug $VERSION). Replace latter 2 with 'our ...'.
- Rename t/00_about_verbose.t to t/about.perl.t.
- Add scripts/cut.and.paste.subtrees.pl. Warning: Some trees get into an infinite loop.
- Add t/cut.and.paste.subtrees.t.        Warning: Some trees get into an infinite loop.
- Document the options (discouraged by Sean) supported in the call to new($hashref).

- This release is based on version 2012h of the Olson database. This release

1.51    2012-10-18

- This release is based on version 2012g of the Olson database. This release
includes contemporary changes for Palestine and Samoa.

1.50    2012-09-16

- In scalar context, DateTime::TimeZone->names_in_category returned an
arrayref containing an arrayref (rather than _just_ an arrayref). Reported
  by Ed Shrock. RT #76791.

- The DateTime::TimeZone->names_in_category claimed that it returned names
based on the population of the zone. I don't think this was ever true, but
this data is definitely not part of the current Olson database. Reported by
  Ed Shrock. RT #76792.

However, the DateTime::TimeZone->names_in_country method does preserve the
order specified in the Olson database, which is sort of based on population
and geography. This method is probably the best choice for presenting a list
  of names to end user.

1.49    2012-09-13

- This release is based on version 2012f of the Olson database. This release
  includes contemporary changes for Fiji.

1.48    2012-08-03

- This release is based on version 2012e of the Olson database. This release
  includes contemporary changes for Fakaofo.

1.47    2012-07-19

- This release is based on version 2012d of the Olson database. This release
  includes contemporary changes for Morocco.

Updated net/p5-Net-Server to 2.006

(pettai)

2012-11-03 23:13:21 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

2.006  Jun 20 2012
        - Allow for case where host is *, and IO::Socket::INET6 is installed, but IPv6 doesn't really work.
        - Add missing child_init_hook in Fork server (so Fork can be more parallel with PreFork in some respects)
        - Change BOUND_SOCKETS passing to use ; as a separator rather than a \n

2.005  Jun 12 2012
NOTE: ipv now defaults to *
        - Change the default of ipv from 4 to *.  This means if a host of * (default), or a named host is used, any available IPv4 OR IPv6 address will be used.
        - Allow for explicit close_client_stdout call
        - Add dispatch methods and app setup to HTTP
        - Allow for exec_fork_hook in HTTP
        - Make sure errors in HTTP use correct logging mechanisms (and do not die un-needed)
        - Fix 500 call in PSGI
        - Fix send_header

2.004  Jun 08 2012
NOTE: Version 2.005 will change the default ipv value to * meaning it will attempt to bind IPv4 and IPv6 if they are available if you pass a hostname
        - Add Net::Server::Proto->get_addr_info which can more reliably resolve domain information.
        - Use that information to figure out an appropriate host to bind to for tests
        - Make get_addr_info less reliant on magic values of sysctl net.ipv6.bindv6only
        - Allow all tests to function in IPv6 only environments
        - Fix broken number of tests in test suite
        - Add warnings about changes to the default value of ipv coming in 2.005

2.003  Jun 06 2012
        - Make the logging system pluggable
        - Added net-server server executor for writing easier one line servers
        - Sys::Syslog and Log::Log4perl are now moved out to their own module subsystems
        - Added full apache style HTTP log formatting for the HTTP server
        - Allow for ipv to be specified as part of host, or proto, or passed via $ENV{'IPV'}
        - Add apache style access logging (access_log_file and access_log_format) to HTTP
        - Allow HTTP header parsing to not untaint the headers (thanks Miko O'Sullivan)
        - Fix missing legacy NS_unix_path call (missing since 2.000)
        - Fix a bug in MultiType that prevented calling server_type HTTP

Update fetchmail and fetchmailconf to version 6.3.22.

# SECURITY FIXES
* for CVE-2012-3482:
* for CVE-2011-3389:

Updated graphics/GraphicsMagick to 1.3.17

(adam)

2012-11-03 20:45:46 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Changes 1.3.17:

Security Fixes:
  * PNG: Fix for CVE-2012-3438. The Magick_png_malloc function in
coders/png.c in GraphicsMagick 6.7.8-6 does not use the proper
variable type for the allocation size, which might allow remote
attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted PNG
file that triggers incorrect memory allocation.
  * Automake (derived): Fix for CVE-2012-3386: The "make distcheck"
rule in GNU Automake before 1.11.6 and 1.12.x before 1.12.2 grants
world-writable permissions to the extraction directory, which
introduces a race condition that allows local users to execute
    arbitrary code via unspecified vectors.

Bug fixes:
  * PNG: Reading sub-8-bit palette images is fixed (images looked
    stretched).
  * SVG: Fixed bug which allowed MVG and SVG files with long vector
    paths to crash the software.
  * SVG: Ignore XML headers rather than rendering them as text.
  * MVG/SVG/WMF/-draw: It is now possible to draw a plain ','
    character.
  * WMF: Fixed a bug which caused wrong centered-text placement.
  * import: Return status was inverted.
  * configure: Don't force that liblzma is used just because libtiff
    is used.

New Features:
  * The configure script now supports a --enable-quantum-library-names
option to enable that shared library name includes quantum depth
to allow shared libraries with different quantum depths to
co-exist in same directory (only one can be used for development).
  * JNX: Support is added for reading the Garmin proprietary Image
    Format.
  * BMP: Support an alpha channel in uncompressed 32-bit BMP.

Feature improvements:
  * -lat: The adaptive threshold algorithm is replaced with a new
algorithm which scales linearly (rather than quadratically) with
    area size.
  * Tests: Test suite is re-written to use TAP-based tests.
  * GIF: Reader tries to be better at detecting and reporting
    failures.

Performance Improvements:
  * -lat: Adaptive threshold is much faster with large area sizes.

Windows Delegate Updates:
  * Dcraw 9.16 is now included in the build (with JPEG and JPEG2000
    support).
  * Libxml2 is updated to the 2.9.0 release.
  * Libtiff is updated to the 4.0.3 release.
  * Lcms2 is updated to the 2.4 release.
  * Libpng is updated to the 1.5.13 release.

Behavior Changes:
  * Loading modules is only supported for the modules build.
Previously any build using shared libraries could load modules.
  * Bundled libltdl is now configured as 'installable' rather than
    'convenience'.
  * -enhance: Only filter based on color channels (ignore opacity).
  * BrowseDelegate: Web browser (for viewing help information) now
defaults to 'xdg-open', but if it is not found, then configure
will search for firefox, google-chrome, mozilla (in that order).
