Updated archivers/unzip to 6.0

(wiz)

2010-03-03 16:27:57 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 6.0:

New features in UnZip 6.0, released 20 April 2009:

  * Support PKWARE ZIP64 extensions, allowing Zip archives and Zip
archive entries larger than 4 GiBytes and more than 65536 entries
within a single Zip archive. This support is currently only
available for Unix, OpenVMS and Win32/Win64.
  * Support for bzip2 compression method.
  * Support for UTF-8 encoded entry names, both through PKWARE's
"General Purpose Flags Bit 11" indicator and Info-ZIP's new "up"
unicode path extra field. (Currently, on Windows the UTF-8
handling is limited to the character subset contained in the
    configured non-unicode "system code page".)
  * Added "wrong implementation used" warning to error messages of
the MSDOS port when used under Win32, in an attempt to reduce
    false bug reports.
  * Fixed "Time of Creation/Time of Use" vulnerability when setting
attributes of extracted files, for Unix and Unix-like ports.
  * Fixed memory leak when processing invalid deflated data.
  * Fixed long-standing bug in unshrink (partial_clear), added
boundary checks against invalid compressed data.
  * On Unix, keep inherited SGID attribute bit for extracted
directories unless restoration of owner/group id or SUID/SGID/Tacky
    attributes was requested.
  * On Unix, allow extracted filenames to contain embedded control
characters when explicitly requested by specifying the new command
    line option "-^".
  * On Unix, support restoration of symbolic link attributes.
  * On Unix, support restoration of 32-bit UID/GID data using the
new "ux" IZUNIX3 extra field introduced with Zip 3.0.
  * Support for ODS5 extended filename syntax on new OpenVMS systems.
  * Support symbolic links zipped up on VMS.
  * On VMS (only 8.x or better), support symbolic link creation.
  * On VMS, support option to create converted text files in
    Stream_LF format.
  * New -D option to suppress restoration of timestamps for extracted
directory entries (on those ports that support setting of directory
timestamps).  By specifying "-DD", this new option also allows
to suppress timestamp restoration for ALL extracted files on
all UnZip ports which support restoration of timestamps. On
VMS, the default behaviour is now to skip restoration of
directory timestamps; here, "--D" restores ALL timestamps,
    "-D" restores none.
  * On OS/2, Win32, and Unix, the (previously optional) feature
UNIXBACKUP to allow saving backup copies of overwritten files on
extraction is now enabled by default.

For the UnZip 6.0 release, we want to give special credit to Myles
Bennet, who started the job of supporting ZIP64 extensions and
Large-File (> 2GiB) and provided a first (alpha-state) port.

updated cad/magic to 7.5.188

(dmcmahill)

2010-03-03 03:40:01 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to magic-7.5.188.  There have been many changes since this package
was last updated.

Besides the upstream changes listed below, also add DESTDIR support
(which is enabled by better upstream support for it).

4. Version 7.5 Release Notes:
---------------------------------

Version 7.5 is the development branch.  Version 7.5.0 is the same as
7.4.2, which is essentially the same as 7.3.123, plus some
documentation updates.  Intended development is as follows:

  1) Use a finely spaced grid for the database, but keep the concept
of "lambda" for layout.  Keep backwards compatibility, and resolve
issues with layout that does not work well on the lambda grid.

Item #1 implemented in 7.5.1 by allowing a DRC "scalefactor" line,
which declares that all DRC rules are in units of (lambda /
scalefactor).  Rules "in use" are scaled to lambda and rounded to
the nearest integer.  The original value is retained, however, so
that any call to "scalegrid" will recompute the DRC distances based
on the current internal grid.  Thus, we can define DRC rules in
fractional lambda and therefore match vendor DRC rule distances
while still maintaining magic's concept of "lambda".  This means
that users working entirely within magic have scalable CMOS rules,
but if a "vendor cell" (3rd party GDS or CIF) is loaded, the DRC
rules will be correct with respect to it.

  2) Create tile-based DRC functions that work like cifoutput:  perform
tile operations, for which the resulting plane, instead of being
output as a file like CIF or GDS, simply becomes an error result
plane.  This will become an extra built-in plane.  Try to keep the
plane numbers down by removing the built-in routing planes when they
      are not used.

Basically, this means that the top of the DRC section defines a set
of "templayer" blocks just like "cifinput" and "cifoutput" (but at the
same scaling as the layout (thus the main reason for item #1 above)),
where the templayer types can be used in the DRC section.

  3) Add "cifoutput" operators as needed to form a complete DRC.  Add DRC
rule types as needed to form a complete DRC (for example, it needs a
"copy" function that declares that the templayer itself represents the
      error condition).

4. Version 7.4 Release Notes:
---------------------------------

Version 7.4 is the new stable distribution version of magic.
Apart from changes to the release notes, it is identical to
the last revision (123) of development version 7.3.  Revisions
of 7.4 will be made as necessary to fix bugs in the code.  All
new additions and major changes will be done to the new
development distribution, version 7.5.  Therefore there will
not be a "What's new in 7.4" section, as there is not supposed
to be anything new in version 7.4.

5. Version 7.3 Release Notes:
---------------------------------

Magic release 7.3 incorporates a stacked contact model which is,
for the most part, backwardly compatible with Magic releases
7.2 and earlier.  Information about this developmental release
  can be found at:

http://opencircuitdesign.com/magic/magic7_3.html

  What's new in 7.3:
  ------------------
Provided by Tim Edwards (MultiGiG, Inc.):
        1) Stacked contact model allowing arbitrary stacking of
    contact types.
        2) A separate "undo/redo" method for network selection, to
remove the memory overhead associated with selecting and
unselecting large networks.  Also removes some time overhead
as well, especially when unselecting networks.
        3) Much improved "plot pnm" function.
        4) Improved transistor and resistor extraction.
5) LEF format reader; improved LEF/DEF input/output handling
6) New style and colormap file formats
7) Vendor GDS read/write capability
        8) "wire segment" drawing function
9) Handling of path records in CIF and GDS input
10) Handling of cell scaling in GDS input
11) Pi-network device extraction for resistors
12) Option to write contacts as cell arrays in GDS output
13) New "widespacing" and "maxwidth" DRC algorithms.
14) "polygon" command
15) New cifoutput operator "bloat-all"
16) Backing-store for 24-bit and OpenGL graphics
17) New "pick" tool for interactive selection move and copy
18) New interactive "wire" tool
19) Crosshair
20) New cifoutput operator "slots"
21) New fcntl-based file locking mechanism
22) "angstroms" units supported in cifinput/cifoutput
23) Non-Manhattan device extraction support
24) New "feedback" mechanism
25) Proper support for > 32 planes (up to 64)
26) Fixed array interaction CIF/GDS generation
27) Added executable "magicdnull" for streamlined batch-mode use
28) New method for crash backups, including restore with "magic -r"
        29) A number of other technology file additions and enhancements

6. Version 7.2 Release Notes:
---------------------------------

Magic release 7.2 incorporates the capability to run magic from the Tcl
interpreter with graphics handled by Tk.  Instructions for compiling
and installing this version are in README.Tcl.  Information about
this release can be found at:

http://opencircuitdesign.com/magic/magic7_2.html

  What's new in 7.2:
  ------------------
Provided by Tim Edwards (MultiGiG, Inc., and JHU Applied Physics Lab):

      1) Tcl interpreter extension option
      2) Cygwin compile option
      3) Memory resources cleaned up
      4) GUI interface to Tcl version of Magic
      5) Readline update to version 4.3
      6) OpenGL fixes and refinements
      7) Nonmanhattan geometry fixes and extensions
      8) Threaded graphics in non-Tcl environments
      9) Inductance extraction
      10) CIF and GDS input/output support for deep submicron technologies
      11) Different internal and lambda grids, including automatic or
induced ("scalegrid" command) grid subdivision and expansion.
"snap" and "grid" functions and extensions aid layout when
  lambda and internal units differ.
      12) Removed commands "list", "listall", "parent", and "child",
replacing them with the more general-purpose "cellname"
  and "instance" commands.
      13) Added command "tech", and re-loadable technologies.
      14) Revamped the "dstyle" files and updated the dstyle version
      15) Added "element" types for layout annotation.
      16) Extended extract section of techfile to include "device"
keyword and devices "mosfet", "bjt", "capacitor", and "resistor".
New model resistor and mosfet use width/length instead of area/
  perimeter.
      17) Added 3D rendering window invoked by command "specialopen wind3d",
for the Tcl version compiled with OpenGL graphics.
      18) Added "height" keyword to tech file for height/thickness values
      19) Added "windowname" command for managing multiple wrapper windows
  under Tcl.
      20) Added extraction extension for annular (ring) MOSFETs.
      21) Added "widespacing" DRC rule.
      22) Added GNU autoconf compile
      23) New command "property" for setting key:value pair properties
in cell definitions that can be interpreted by other routines
  (such as LEF/DEF).
      24) General-purpose subcircuit method using the "port" command to
declare a cell to be a subcircuit and to mark the position and
orientation of connections into the subcell.  This replaces a
method previously built into version 7.2 using a "subcircuit"
layer; that method is now considered obsolete.
      25) LEF and DEF format readers, LEF format writer.
      26) Improved techfile format with asterisk-notation and DRC
  "surround", "overhang", and "rect_only" statements.

Updated to version 2.3.0.

It's been a really long time since 2.2.0, previous cmus release - almost 3
years have passed. During this time, Timo Hirvonen, original cmus author, has
disappeared, cmus-unofficial fork was born, and, lately, cmus-unofficial
transformed back into cmus. Long story short - here is the new release!

Features highlight:

        Gapless MP3 playback
        Native PulseAudio output plugin
        Faster metadata cache
        Improved compilation handling
        cmus-tutorial(7) man page
        SHOUTcast icy-* headers support
        Musepack SV8 support
        Support for the new libmp4v2

And, of course, tons of bugs were fixed.

Log Message:
Update tor to 0.2.1.24 per maintainer update request by PR#42911.

Changes in version 0.2.1.24 - 2010-02-21
Tor 0.2.1.24 makes Tor work again on the latest OS X -- this time
  for sure!

  o Minor bugfixes:
    - Work correctly out-of-the-box with even more vendor-patched versions
of OpenSSL. In particular, make it so Debian and OS X don't need
      customized patches to run/build.

Changes in version 0.2.1.23 - 2010-02-13
Tor 0.2.1.23 fixes a huge client-side performance bug, makes Tor work
again on the latest OS X, and updates the location of a directory
  authority.

  o Major bugfixes (performance):
    - We were selecting our guards uniformly at random, and then weighting
which of our guards we'd use uniformly at random. This imbalance
meant that Tor clients were severely limited on throughput (and
probably latency too) by the first hop in their circuit. Now we
select guards weighted by currently advertised bandwidth. We also
automatically discard guards picked using the old algorithm. Fixes
bug 1217; bugfix on 0.2.1.3-alpha. Found by Mike Perry.

  o Major bugfixes:
    - Make Tor work again on the latest OS X: when deciding whether to
use strange flags to turn TLS renegotiation on, detect the OpenSSL
version at run-time, not compile time. We need to do this because
Apple doesn't update its dev-tools headers when it updates its
      libraries in a security patch.
    - Fix a potential buffer overflow in lookup_last_hid_serv_request()
that could happen on 32-bit platforms with 64-bit time_t. Also fix
a memory leak when requesting a hidden service descriptor we've
requested before. Fixes bug 1242, bugfix on 0.2.0.18-alpha. Found
      by aakova.

  o Minor bugfixes:
    - Refactor resolve_my_address() to not use gethostbyname() anymore.
Fixes bug 1244; bugfix on 0.0.2pre25. Reported by Mike Mestnik.

  o Minor features:
    - Avoid a mad rush at the beginning of each month when each client
rotates half of its guards. Instead we spread the rotation out
throughout the month, but we still avoid leaving a precise timestamp
in the state file about when we first picked the guard. Improves
over the behavior introduced in 0.1.2.17.

Update to Asterisk 1.6.1.17.  This fixes AST-2010-001 and
AST-2010-003.  AST-2010-002 was just a warning about dialplan
scripting errors that could lead to security issues.

Asterisk 1.6.1.13: general bug fixes
Asterisk 1.6.1.14: fix AST-2010-001
Asterisk 1.6.1.15: not released, skipped for security releases
Asterisk 1.6.1.16: fix AST-2010-002
Asterisk 1.6.1.17: fix AST-2010-003

Note that the only change in Asterisk 1.6.1.16 was the addtion of
a README file.  However, the package doesn't install random docs.
That is planned for a future update seperate from the upstream
updates.

Asterisk 1.6.1.14:

The releases of Asterisk 1.6.0.22, 1.6.1.14, and 1.6.2.2 include
the fix described in security advisory AST-2010-001.

The issue is that an attacker attempting to negotiate T.38 over
SIP can remotely crash Asterisk by modifying the FaxMaxDatagram
field of the SDP to contain either a negative or exceptionally
large value.  The same crash will occur when the FaxMaxDatagram
field is omitted from the SDP, as well.

For more information about the details of this vulnerability, please
read the security advisory AST-2009-009, which was released at the
same time as this announcement.

Asterisk 1.6.1.16:

The releases of Asterisk 1.2.40, 1.4.29.1, 1.6.0.24, 1.6.1.16, and
1.6.2.4 include documention describing a possible dialplan string
injection with common usage of the ${EXTEN} (and other expansion
variables). The issue and resolution are described in the AST-2010-002
security advisory.

If you have a channel technology which can accept characters other
than numbers and letters (such as SIP) it may be possible to craft
an INVITE which sends data such as 300&Zap/g1/4165551212 which
would create an additional outgoing channel leg that was not
originally intended by the dialplan programmer.

Please note that this is not limited to an specific protocol or
the Dial() application.

The expansion of variables into programmatically-interpreted strings
is a common behavior in many script or script-like languages,
Asterisk included. The ability for a variable to directly replace
components of a command is a feature, not a bug - that is the entire
point of string expansion.

However, it is often the case due to expediency or design
misunderstanding that a developer will not examine and filter string
data from external sources before passing it into potentially
harmful areas of their dialplan.

With the flexibility of the design of Asterisk come these risks if
the dialplan designer is not suitably cautious as to how foreign
data is allowed to enter the system unchecked.

This security release is intended to raise awareness of how it is
possible to insert malicious strings into dialplans, and to advise
developers to read the best practices documents so that they may
easily avoid these dangers.

read the security advisory AST-2010-002, which was released at the
same time as this announcement.

leading to a possible compromise in security. The issue and resolution
are described in the AST-2010-003 security advisory.

Log Message:
Update to 7.20.0:

Version 7.20.0 (9 February 2010)

Daniel Stenberg (9 Feb 2010)
- When downloading compressed content over HTTP and the app asked libcurl to
automatically uncompress it with the CURLOPT_ENCODING option, libcurl could
wrongly provide the callback with more data than the maximum documented
amount. An application could thus get tricked into badness if the maximum
limit was trusted to be enforced by libcurl itself (as it is documented).

This is further detailed and explained in the libcurl security advisory
  20100209 at

    http://curl.haxx.se/docs/adv_20100209.html

Daniel Fandrich (3 Feb 2010)
- Changed the Watcom makefiles to make them easier to keep in sync with
Makefile.inc since that can't be included directly.

Yang Tse (2 Feb 2010)
- Symbol CURL_FORMAT_OFF_T now obsoleted, will be removed in a future release,
symbol will not be available when building with CURL_NO_OLDIES defined. Use
of CURL_FORMAT_CURL_OFF_T is preferred since 7.19.0

Daniel Stenberg (1 Feb 2010)
- Using the multi_socket API, it turns out at times it seemed to "forget"
connections (which caused a hang). It turned out to be an existing (7.19.7)
bug in libcurl (that's been around for a long time) and it happened like
  this:

The app calls curl_multi_add_handle() to add a new easy handle, libcurl will
then set it to timeout in 1 millisecond so libcurl will tell the app about
  it.

The app's timeout fires off that there's a timeout, the app calls libcurl as
  we so often document it:

  do {
  res = curl_multi_socket_action(... TIMEOUT ...);
  } while(CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM == res);

And this is the problem number one:

When curl_multi_socket_action() is called with no specific handle, but only
a timeout-action, it will *only* perform actions within libcurl that are
marked to run at this time. In this case, the request would go from INIT to
CONNECT and return CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM. When the app then calls libcurl
again, there's no timer set for this handle so it remains in the CONNECT
state. The CONNECT state is a transitional state in libcurl so it reports no
sockets there, and thus libcurl never tells the app anything more about that
  easy handle/connection.

libcurl _does_ set a 1ms timeout for the handle at the end of
multi_runsingle() if it returns CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM, but since the loop
is instant the new job is not ready to run at that point (and there's no
code that makes libcurl call the app to update the timout for this new
timeout). It will simply rely on that some other timeout will trigger later
on or that something else will update the timeout callback. This makes the
  bug fairly hard to repeat.

The fix made to adress this issue:

We introduce a loop in lib/multi.c around all calls to multi_runsingle() and
simply check for CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM internally. This has the added
benefit that this goes in line with my long-term wishes to get rid of the
CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM all together from the public API.

The downside of this fix, is that the counter we return in 'running_handles'
in several of our public functions then gets a slightly new and possibly
  confusing behavior during times:

If an app adds a handle that fails to connect (very quickly) it may just
as well never appear as a 'running_handle' with this fix. Previously it
would first bump the counter only to get it decreased again at next call.
Even I have used that change in handle counter to signal "end of a
transfer". The only *good* way to find the end of a individual transfer
is calling curl_multi_info_read() to see if it returns one.

Of course, if the app previously did the looping before it checked the
counter, it really shouldn't be any new effect.

Yang Tse (26 Jan 2010)
- Constantine Sapuntzakis' and Joshua Kwan's work done in the last four months
relative to the asynchronous DNS lookups, along with with some integration
adjustments I have done are finally committed to CVS.

Currently these enhancements will benefit builds done using c-ares on any
platform as well as Windows builds using the default threaded resolver.

This release does not make generally available POSIX threaded DNS lookups
yet. There is no configure option to enable this feature yet. It is possible
to experimantally try this feature running configure with compiler flags that
make simultaneous definition of preprocessor symbols USE_THREADS_POSIX and
HAVE_PTHREAD_H, as well as whatever reentrancy compiler flags and linker ones
are required to link and properly use pthread_* functions on each platform.

Daniel Stenberg (26 Jan 2010)
- Mike Crowe made libcurl return CURLE_COULDNT_RESOLVE_PROXY when it is the
proxy that cannot be resolved when using c-ares. This matches the behaviour
  when not using c-ares.

Bj
- Added a new flag: -J/--remote-header-name. This option tells the
  -O/--remote-name option to use the server-specified Content-Disposition
filename instead of extracting a filename from the URL.

Daniel Stenberg (21 Jan 2010)
- Chris Conroy brought support for RTSP transfers, and with it comes 8(!) new
libcurl options for controlling what to get and how to receive posssibly
  interleaved RTP data.

Daniel Stenberg (20 Jan 2010)
- As was pointed out on the http-state mailing list, the order of cookies in a
HTTP Cookie: header _needs_ to be sorted on the path length in the cases
where two cookies using the same name are set more than once using
(overlapping) paths. Realizing this, identically named cookies must be
sorted correctly. But detecting only identically named cookies and take care
of them individually is harder than just to blindly and unconditionally sort
all cookies based on their path lengths. All major browsers also already do
this, so this makes our behavior one step closer to them in the cookie area.

Test case 8 was the only one that broke due to this change and I updated it
  accordingly.

Daniel Stenberg (19 Jan 2010)
- David McCreedy brought a fix and a new test case (129) to make libcurl work
again when downloading files over FTP using ASCII and it turns out that the
final size of the file is not the same as the initial size the server
reported. This is very common since servers don't take the newline
  conversions into account.

Kamil Dudka (14 Jan 2010)
- Suppressed side effect of OpenSSL configure checks, which prevented NSS from
being properly detected under certain circumstances. It had been caused by
strange behavior of pkg-config when handling PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR. pkg-config
distinguishes among empty and non-existent environment variable in that case.

Daniel Stenberg (12 Jan 2010)
- Gil Weber reported a peculiar flaw with the multi interface when doing SFTP
transfers: curl_multi_fdset() would return -1 and not set and file
descriptors several times during a transfer of a single file. It turned out
to be due to two different flaws now fixed. Gil's excellent recipe helped me
  nail this.

Daniel Stenberg (11 Jan 2010)
- Made sure that the progress callback is repeatedly called at a regular
interval even during very slow connects.

- The tests/runtests.pl script now checks to see if the test case that runs is
present in the tests/data/Makefile.am and outputs a notice message on the
screen if not. Each test file has to be included in that Makefile.am to get
included in release archives and forgetting to add files there is a common
mistake. This is an attempt to make it harder to forget.

Daniel Stenberg (9 Jan 2010)
- Johan van Selst found and fixed a OpenSSL session ref count leak:

ossl_connect_step3() increments an SSL session handle reference counter on
each call. When sessions are re-used this reference counter may be
incremented many times, but it will be decremented only once when done (by
Curl_ossl_session_free()); and the internal OpenSSL data will not be freed
if this reference count remains positive. When a session is re-used the
reference counter should be corrected by explicitly calling
SSL_SESSION_free() after each consecutive SSL_get1_session() to avoid
  introducing a memory leak.

Daniel Stenberg (7 Jan 2010)
- Make sure the progress callback is called repeatedly even during very slow
name resolves when c-ares is used for resolving.

Claes Jakobsson (6 Jan 2010)
- Julien Chaffraix fixed so that the fragment part in an URL is not sent
  to the server anymore.

Kamil Dudka (3 Jan 2010)
- Julien Chaffraix eliminated a duplicated initialization in singlesocket().

Daniel Stenberg (2 Jan 2010)
- Make curl support --ssl and --ssl-reqd instead of the previous FTP-specific
versions --ftp-ssl and --ftp-ssl-reqd as these options are now used to
control SSL/TLS for IMAP, POP3 and SMTP as well in addition to FTP. The old
option names are still working but the new ones are the ones listed and
  documented.

Daniel Stenberg (1 Jan 2010)
- Ingmar Runge enhanced libcurl's FTP engine to support the PRET command. This
command is a special "hack" used by the drftpd server, but even though it is
a custom extension I've deemed it fine to add to libcurl since this server
seems to survive and people keep using it and want libcurl to support
it. The new libcurl option is named CURLOPT_FTP_USE_PRET, and it is also
usable from the curl tool with --ftp-pret. Using this option on a server
that doesn't support this command will make libcurl fail.

I added test cases 1107 and 1108 to verify the functionality.

The PRET command is documented at
  http://www.drftpd.org/index.php/Distributed_PASV

Yang Tse (30 Dec 2009)
- Steven M. Schweda improved VMS build system, and Craig A. Berry helped
  with the patch and testing.

Daniel Stenberg (26 Dec 2009)
- Renato Botelho and Peter Pentchev brought a patch that makes the libcurl
headers work correctly even on FreeBSD systems before v8.

Daniel Stenberg (17 Dec 2009)
- David Byron fixed Curl_ossl_cleanup to actually call ENGINE_cleanup when
  available.

- Follow-up fix for the proxy fix I did for Jon Nelson's bug. It turned out I
was a bit too quick and broke test case 1101 with that change. The order of
some of the setups is sensitive. I now changed it slightly again to make
sure we do them in this order:

1 - parse URL and figure out what protocol is used in the URL
2 - prepend protocol:// to URL if missing
3 - parse name+password off URL, which needs to know what protocol is used
(since only some allows for name+password in the URL)
4 - figure out if a proxy should be used set by an option
5 - if no proxy option, check proxy environment variables
6 - run the protocol-specific setup function, which needs to have the proxy
      already set

Daniel Stenberg (15 Dec 2009)
- Jon Nelson found a regression that turned out to be a flaw in how libcurl
detects and uses proxies based on the environment variables. If the proxy
was given as an explicit option it worked, but due to the setup order
mistake proxies would not be used fine for a few protocols when picked up
from '[protocol]_proxy'. Obviously this broke after 7.19.4. I now also added
test case 1106 that verifies this functionality.

Daniel Stenberg (12 Dec 2009)
- IMAP, POP3 and SMTP support and their TLS versions (including IMAPS, POP3S
and SMTPS) are now supported. The current state may not yet be solid, but
the foundation is in place and the test suite has some initial support for
these protocols. Work will now persue to make them nice libcurl citizens
  until release.

The work with supporting these new protocols was sponsored by
  networking4all.com - thanks!

Daniel Stenberg (10 Dec 2009)
- Siegfried Gyuricsko found out that the curl manual said --retry would retry
on FTP errors in the transient 5xx range. Transient FTP errors are in the
4xx range. The code itself only tried on 5xx errors that occured _at login_.
Now the retry code retries on all FTP transfer failures that ended with a
  4xx response.

- Constantine Sapuntzakis figured out a case which would lead to libcurl
accessing alredy freed memory and thus crash when using HTTPS (with
OpenSSL), multi interface and the CURLOPT_DEBUGFUNCTION and a certain order
of cleaning things up. I fixed it.

Daniel Stenberg (7 Dec 2009)
- Martin Storsjo made libcurl use the Expect: 100-continue header for posts
with unknown size. Previously it was only used for posts with a known size
  larger than 1024 bytes.

Daniel Stenberg (1 Dec 2009)
- If the Expect: 100-continue header has been set by the application through
curl_easy_setopt with CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, the library should set
data->state.expect100header accordingly - the current code (in 7.19.7 at
least) doesn't handle this properly. Martin Storsjo provided the fix!

Yang Tse (28 Nov 2009)
- Added Diffie-Hellman parameters to several test harness certificate files in
PEM format. Required by several stunnel versions used by our test harness.

Daniel Stenberg (28 Nov 2009)
- Markus Koetter provided a polished and updated version of Chad Monroe's TFTP
rework patch that now integrates TFTP properly into libcurl so that it can
be used non-blocking with the multi interface and more. BLKSIZE also works.

The --tftp-blksize option was added to allow setting the TFTP BLKSIZE from
  the command line.

Daniel Stenberg (26 Nov 2009)
- Extended and fixed the change I did on Dec 11 for the the progress
meter/callback during FTP command/response sequences. It turned out it was
really lame before and now the progress meter SHOULD get called at least
  once per second.

Daniel Stenberg (23 Nov 2009)
- Bjorn Augustsson reported a bug which made curl not report any problems even
though it failed to write a very small download to disk (done in a single
fwrite call). It turned out to be because fwrite() returned success, but
there was insufficient error-checking for the fclose() call which tricked
curl to believe things were fine.

Yang Tse (23 Nov 2009)
- David Byron modified Makefile.dist vc8 and vc9 targets in order to allow
finer granularity control when generating src and lib makefiles.

Yang Tse (22 Nov 2009)
- I modified configure to force removal of the curlbuild.h file included in
distribution tarballs for use by non-configure systems. As intended, this
would get overwriten when doing in-tree builds. But VPATH builds would end
having two curlbuild.h files, one in the source tree and another in the
build tree. With the modification I introduced 5 Nov 2009 this could become
an issue when running libcurl's test suite.

Daniel Stenberg (20 Nov 2009)
- Constantine Sapuntzakis identified a write after close, as the sockets were
closed by libcurl before the SSL lib were shutdown and they may write to its
socket. Detected to at least happen with OpenSSL builds.

- Jad Chamcham pointed out a bug with connection re-use. If a connection had
CURLOPT_HTTPPROXYTUNNEL enabled over a proxy, a subsequent request using the
same proxy with the tunnel option disabled would still wrongly re-use that
previous connection and the outcome would only be badness.

Yang Tse (18 Nov 2009)
- I modified the memory tracking system to make it intolerant with zero sized
malloc(), calloc() and realloc() function calls.

Daniel Stenberg (17 Nov 2009)
- Constantine Sapuntzakis provided another fix for the DNS cache that could
end up with entries that wouldn't time-out:

  1. Set up a first web server that redirects (307) to a http://server:port
    that's down
  2. Have curl connect to the first web server using curl multi

After the curl_easy_cleanup call, there will be curl dns entries hanging
  around with in_use != 0.

- Marc Kleine-Budde fixed: curl saved the LDFLAGS set during configure into
its pkg-config file.  So -Wl stuff ended up in the .pc file, which is really
bad, and breaks if there are multiple -Wl in our LDFLAGS (which are in
  PTXdist). bug #2893592 (http://curl.haxx.se/bug/view.cgi?id=2893592)

Kamil Dudka (15 Nov 2009)
- David Byron improved the configure script to use pkg-config to find OpenSSL
(and in particular the list of required libraries) even if a path is given
  as argument to --with-ssl

Yang Tse (15 Nov 2009)
- I removed enable-thread / disable-thread configure option. These were only
placebo options. The library is always built as thread safe as possible on
  every system.

Claes Jakobsson (14 Nov 2009)
- curl-config now accepts '--configure' to see what arguments was
passed to the configure script when building curl.

Daniel Stenberg (14 Nov 2009)
- Claes Jakobsson restored the configure functionality to detect NSS when
--with-nss is set but not "yes".

I think we can still improve that to check for pkg-config in that path etc,
but at least this patch brings back the same functionality we had before.

- Camille Moncelier added support for the file type SSL_FILETYPE_ENGINE for
the client certificate. It also disable the key name test as some engines
can select a private key/cert automatically (When there is only one key
and/or certificate on the hardware device used by the engine)

Yang Tse (14 Nov 2009)
- Constantine Sapuntzakis provided the fix that ensures that an SSL connection
won't be reused unless protection level for peer and host verification match.

I refactored how preprocessor symbol _THREAD_SAFE definition is done.

Kamil Dudka (12 Nov 2009)
- Kevin Baughman provided a fix preventing libcurl-NSS from crash on doubly
closed NSPR descriptor. The issue was hard to find, reported several times
before and always closed unresolved. More info at the RH bug:
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/534176

- libcurl-NSS now tries to reconnect with TLS disabled in case it detects
a broken TLS server. However it does not happen if SSL version is selected
manually. The approach was originally taken from PSM. Kaspar Brand helped me
to complete the patch. Original bug reports:
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/525496
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/527771

Yang Tse (12 Nov 2009)
- I modified configure script to make the getaddrinfo function check also
verify if the function is thread safe.

Yang Tse (11 Nov 2009)
- Marco Maggi reported that compilation failed when configured --with-gssapi
and GNU GSS installed due to a missing mutual exclusion of header files in
the Kerberos 5 code path. He also verified that my patch worked for him.

Daniel Stenberg (11 Nov 2009)
- Constantine Sapuntzakis posted bug #2891595
(http://curl.haxx.se/bug/view.cgi?id=2891595) which identified how an entry
in the DNS cache would linger too long if the request that added it was in
use that long. He also provided the patch that now makes libcurl capable of
still doing a request while the DNS hash entry may get timed out.

- Christian Schmitz noticed that the progress meter/callback was not properly
used during the FTP connection phase (after the actual TCP connect), while
it of course should be. I also made the speed check get called correctly so
that really slow servers will trigger that properly too.

Kamil Dudka (5 Nov 2009)
- Dropped misleading timeouts in libcurl-NSS and made sure the SSL socket works
  in non-blocking mode.

Yang Tse (5 Nov 2009)
- I removed leading 'curl' path on the 'curlbuild.h' include statement in
curl.h, adjusting auto-makefiles include path, to enhance portability to
OS's without an orthogonal directory tree structure such as OS/400.

Daniel Stenberg (4 Nov 2009)
- I fixed several problems with the transfer progress meter. It showed the
wrong percentage for small files, most notable for <1000 bytes and could
easily end up showing more than 100% at the end. It also didn't show any
percentage, transfer size or estimated transfer times when transferring
  less than 100 bytes.

compile ngapice or tclspice by asserting a configure switch. See README.tcl
- New options have been introduced: brief, listing, autostop and scale
- Support for .lib file has been introduced. This allows the use of
third party model libraries in ngspice.
- .measure statements: avg, integ, rms, max, min, delay, param
- .global statements t support for global nodes whose name is not expanded
  when flattening the netlist.
- .func macros for inlining functions into netlists.
- Improved the numparam library to support fully parametrized netlists.
- BSIM model binning.

Update to 4.3.10.

Some highlighted changes (for full details, see the ChangeLog):

The command "emulate <mode> -c ..." evaluates an expression in a given
emulation.  The emulation is sticky for functions defined within the
expression.

The variable CORRECT_IGNORE gives a pattern that can be ignored
in spelling correction.  CORRECT_IGNORE='_*' ignores completion functions.

The option POSIX_ALIASES improves compatibility of aliases with other
shells.

The variable ZSH_PATCHLEVEL can be used to test for unreleased versions of
the shell; it is present but less useful in released versions.

The variables ZLE_REMOVE_SUFFIX_CHARS and ZLE_SPACE_SUFFIX_CHARS allow more
control over the way automatically removed suffixes are treated in
completion.

initial import of lua-curl-0.2 into the packages collection.

Lua support for libcurl.

Connect and communicate to many different types of servers with many
different types of protocols.

This project is not a fork of LuaCURL, which is a direct mapping of
parts of the libcurl-easy interface.

The intent of Lua-cURL is to adapt the

    * Easy Interface
    * Multi Interface
    * Shared Interface

of libcurl to the functionality of Lua (for example by using iterators
instead of callbacks when possible).

Updated devel/m4 to 1.4.14

(wiz)

2010-02-26 15:31:42 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 1.4.14:

* Noteworthy changes in Version 1.4.14 (2010-02-24) [stable]
Released by Eric Blake, based on git version 1.4.13.*

** Fix regression introduced in 1.4.12 where executing with stdout closed
could crash m4 on exit on some platforms.

** Fix regressions introduced in 1.4.13 in the `esyscmd' builtin, where
closed file descriptors could interfere with child execution, and where
a child status of 127 made m4 print a spurious message to stderr.

** Fix a security hole in 'make dist', present since at least M4 1.4, that
could affect anybody attempting to redistribute modified sources (see
  Automake CVE-2009-4029).

** A number of portability improvements inherited from gnulib.

sync w/ mutt-devel: allow native wide curses

2010-02-26 10:56:39 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

first attempt to make this DESTDIR ready and to update it to a
newer version (5.26, the current production version).
The pkg builds and the result starts up and can do simple operations,
but there are strange errors if I try scripts which used to work
two years ago (mostly array size check related).
The biggest problem is that the pkg needs a fortran compiler
which supports the LOC() function. f2c doesn't, the cheapest way
I found is to depend on pkgsrc/lang/gcc3-f77. This needs to be done
cleaner.
