Updated chat/telepathy-glib to 0.9.1

(wiz)

2009-12-02 12:01:05 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 0.9.1:

telepathy-glib 0.9.1 (2009-10-15)
=================================

The "to quote Rob: sdflkaytliahdskljfhgaqgh;shf" release.

Fixes:

* Corrected the GLib dependency to 2.20 (this was also needed for 0.9.0,
but that fact was undocumented) (smcv)

* Corrected the error message given when a write-only D-Bus property
  is read (Pekka Pessi)

* Work around GLib 2.20 being less const-correct than 2.22 (jonny)

* fd.o #23853: if a connection manager is discovered not to be running while
TpConnectionManager has a ListProtocols call in-flight, then a new instance
of the CM starts up and replies to that call, don't crash with an assertion
  failure (smcv)

* If a connection manager returns error from GetParameters(), don't dereference
a NULL pointer and segfault (smcv)

* When asked to activate or introspect a connection manager, don't do anything
until we have at least worked out whether it was initially running, in order
to provide the documented behaviour (smcv)

* When getting parameter details from a running connection manager, consider
parameters called "password" or ending with "-password" to be secret even
if they lack the SECRET flag, as was already done when reading .manager
  files (smcv)

telepathy-glib 0.9.0 (2009-09-28)
=================================

The "purging all the lies" release.

Dependencies:

* GLib 2.20 is now required.
* telepathy-glib now links to GIO as well as GLib and GObject (in practice
they're packaged together, and we already depended on a new enough GLib
version that it would come with GIO).

Enhancements:

* TpAccountManager, TpAccount: add convenience API similar to libempathy's
  (jonny, with contributions from wjt/danni/sjoerd/smcv)

* telepathy-glib now uses Automake 1.11's "silent rules" feature for
kernel-style output; as a result, we no longer use shave. If you were
previously using --enable-shave to get prettier output, use
--enable-silent-rules instead, and upgrade to Automake >= 1.11 if you will
be altering the build system. (jonny)

telepathy-glib 0.8.0 (2009-09-24)
=================================

The "line in the sand" release.

This release begins a bugfix-only 0.8.x branch, in which new API/ABI will no
longer be added; 0.9.x development releases will continue to be made from
the master branch.

Summary of API changes since 0.6.x:

* Since 0.7.35, it is no longer guaranteed that the self-handle in
  TpBaseConnection is set to 0 when the state changes to DISCONNECTED;
instead, it remains valid until the connection is disposed. This will cause
assertion failures during disconnection in telepathy-sofiasip < 0.5.17 and
  telepathy-gabble < 0.7.9.

Changes since 0.7.37:

* spec: update from 0.17.28 to 0.18.0 (no real changes) (smcv)
* ContactList example CM: fix a crash during shutdown (andrunko)
* StreamedMedia example CM: check for direction changes correctly (andrunko)

(wiz)

2009-12-02 12:00:12 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 0.1.5:

telepathy-idle 0.1.5 (2009-09-14)
=================================

Enhancements:

* Use automake 1.11's silent build option. Use --enable-silent-rules
  to enable it. (wjt)

* Implement Destroyable for IM channels. (wjt)

* Implement o.fd.Tp.Connection.Interface.Requests. (jonner & wjt)

* Allow parting MUCs with RemoveMembers. (wjt)

Fixes:

* fd.o #22291: Define _GNU_SOURCE not __USE_GNU to get strnlen(3),
which was causing a build failure on openSUSE, which has a glibc
  from the future. (Vincent Untz)

* fd.o #22958: Don't explicitly return void in void functions as Sun's
C compiler doesn't support this. (Elaine Xiong)

Pullup single logout related bugfixes from lasso -current.

On SP initiated logout, the SP x509 certificate was included in the
HTTP redirect URL. First this was an SAML standard violation, and second
it inflated the URL beyond 2038 bytes, which is the maximum length for
IE7 and prior. As a result, SP initated single logout was broken with IE7

2009-11-30 15:44:45 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update www/geeklog package to 1.6.1.

Geeklog 1.6.1

New Features and Improvements

  * Geeklog now lets you enter meta descriptions and meta keywords for the main
page, for stories, topics, static pages, and polls. Please note that these
meta tags may not be used by some search engines.
  * You can now have one featured story per topic (for stories set to "Show
    only in Topic").
  * New autotags now allow you to embed polls in stories and everywhere else
    where autotags are allowed.
  * The Migrate option in the install script can now also be applied to an
existing database (i.e. you don't need to import a database dump to update
    your URLs and paths).
  * The Database Backup admin panel now includes options to optimize the
database and convert tables to InnoDB (MySQL only).
  * Improved timezone support and let users actually set their own timezone.
  * Minor security enhancements:
+ "Important" cookies (like the session cookies) are now created with the
HttpOnly flag set. This will help avoid some XSS attacks, provided your
        browser supports this flag.
+ Template errors will now trigger the standard error handler instead of
        exposing the template path.
+ Fixed inclusion protection for some of the Spam-X class files.

Please also see the list of theme changes.

Bugfixes

  * Fixed automatic closing of stories for comments after a certain amount of
days. If you need to re-open comments on stories that were closed due to
this bug, you can use this SQL request:
    UPDATE gl_stories SET commentcode = 0, comment_expire = 0 WHERE commentcode
    = 1;
  * The comment speed limit was being ignored.
  * Fixed a bug in the Group Editor that didn't let you add groups to other
groups (this problem was only introduced in Geeklog 1.6.0).
  * The admin group for the Static Pages plugin was created with a wrong name
in Geeklog 1.6.0 (fresh installs only).
  * Several tweaks and minor fixes (e.g. compatibility with PHP 4) in the
    search.

scaling/rotating objects, deleting and duplicating using the "soft brush"
* Reworked, much more usable snapping system and a Snapping toolbar
* New path effects, including sketch, hatching, envelope deformation; effects
can be stacked and assigned to groups
* A huge collection of preset filters in the new Filters menu

[Message ID: 4A77B6BD-77ED-4A93-A110-16B083E010F5@pobox.com]
I/O Dispatch is Faster

I/O events jump the queue in POE 1.280. Skipping an enqueue and
dequeue saves significant time. The drawback is that I/O is dispatched
in a different order relative to other kinds of events. Most people
won't care, but it has affected one of POE::Component::Client::HTTP's
tests. Speak up if you think it's affecting you.

Session Cleanup is Faster

In POE 1.280, session cleanup is done just before the event loop
would wait for new events. Programs that aren't event bound should
show decreased latency because the cleanup will be scheduled during
idle times. This optimization changes the timing of session cleanup
and their resulting _stop events. While I don't think it affects
many people, it has already bitten Adam Kennedy. Please let us know
if you suspect it's gnawing on you, too.

Other Changes

POE::Wheel::Run::Win32 code has been merged into POE::Wheel::Run.
Many thanks to Chris Williams for developing and contributing
POE::Wheel::Run::Win32, and Andrew Feren for the patch.

The tests should be a little faster since the full tracing has been
turned off. Tracing is only enabled when running coverage tests
now. This also exposes more warnings to the console, most of which
have been fixed.

POE::Wheel::ReadLine memory leaks have been fixed. Unfortunately,
it requires the use of Scalar::Util::weaken(). This wheel won't run
on really old versions of Perl anymore. Patches that don't reintroduce
the memory leak are welcome.

Miscellaneous $kernel->has_forked() fixes.

The mark and sweep session garbage collection fixed an issue where
call() would sometimes sidestep garbage collection. Mysterious
program hangs should be eliminated by this release.

Lots of MSWin32 fixes! Not nearly enough, but it's improved by a
leap and a bound.

... and a bunch of really minor things in the CHANGES file.

[Message ID: 86EE3691-481B-4841-9558-8280D5CC6E52@pobox.com]
POE 1.020 is released!  It's a 13-point jump from the last release.
Here are the change highlights, beginning with a few potential
compatibility issues.

(!!!) Thanks to the mailing list, POE::Component::Server::TCP's
ClientConnected callback parameters have been fixed.  Unfortunately,
if your code relies on the previous mis-documented parameters, then
it may now be broken.  Please review your ClientConnected callbacks
with respect to the new behavior and documentation.

(!!!) POE::Loop::Event, POE::Loop::Gtk and POE::Loop::Tk have been
spun off into their own distributions.  This and future POE upgrades
won't update those modules.  Set your dependencies accordingly.

(!!!) With the help of Philip Gwyn, I overhauled POE::Filter::HTTPD to
use plainer code and better support RFC 2616.  As bizarre as it may
sound, GET requests may have content, among other things.  Please make
sure the changes don't break your code.  HTTP is a twisty maze of
specification, all different, and you could be relying on something we
haven't tested.

(!!!) Subversion $Id$ and $Revision$ tags have been removed from the
source.  This is one of two major prerequisites towards moving the
repository to git.  Unfortunately, standardizing modules on the master
version (1.020) has caused retrograde versioning on those modules.  I
will probably release POE 1.300 shortly in an attempt to fix the issue.

Philip Gwyn fixed a pty leak in POE::Wheel::Run!  I had thought
closing them was enough, but noooooo!

Chris Williams fixed some tests, and of course, his legion of robots
have been diligently testing POE and thousands of other modules around
the clock!

Documented some of the caveats and side effects of running code blocks
with POE::Wheel::Run.  It's not quite like using exec() to run
external programs.

Added experimental support for "weak" callbacks and postbacks.  Adam
Kennedy has a use case for postbacks and callbacks that don't keep
their sessions alive.

Fixed a bug where rethrowing unhandled exceptions would corrupt POE's
internal data.  The rethrow has been moved after data cleanup.

Revised POE::Kernel->run() documentation for enhanced clarity, in
hopes that a certain person may grow to understand the "run() wasn't
called" warning can actually be disabled.

[Message ID: F8022A58-D129-40A8-97A2-DA413B7AFD98@pobox.com]
Highlights of POE 1.007:

call() has been optimized slightly.  DrGeek on irc.perl.org #poe
pointed out in irc.perl.org that call() doesn't need to do a garbage
collection check.  It never intrinsically affects a session's
reference count.

Michael Fowler fixed POE::Component::Server::TCP documentation and
added a regression test for the component.

Philip Gwyn added a signal pipe to make signals more reliable when the
USE_SIGNALS switch is enabled.

Gcola on irc.perl.org #poe did substantial testing on ActivePerl for
Windows.

Adam Kennedy wrested some Windows machines from Microsoft for testing,
which helped a lot.

Some of the signals tests were moved out to POE::Test::Loops so that
other event loop adapter writers can take advantage of them.  If
POE::Loop authors have their own tests they'd like to share, let me
know what I can include.

Clarified a couple warnings: the run() was never called warning now
points to documentation to disable it.  The PID reap warnings explain

Add INSTALLATION_DIRS of share/pixmap, that way we ensure that it doesn't
end up as a file instead of as a directory.  Fixes old-style bulk builds

Update gauche to 0.9.  Ok'ed by uebayashi.

- patch-ae is removed since the change is included in upstream.
- patch-a[h-k] is removed since the way to handle rpath leak
is changed; now gauche-config is also `relink'ed before installed.

Here is breif list of changes from 0.8.13:

2009/11/22

    Gauche 0.9: Major Feature Enhancements

        * C API incompatible changes: Several incompatible C API
changes are introduced, which may cause some extension to
fail to compile. See API Changes in 0.9 for the details.

        * New features

              o New module: rfc.zlib: Zlib compression/decompression.

              o New module: rfc.sha: SHA2 support. rfc.sha1 is
                superseded by this module.

o New module: util.sparse: Sparse vectors backed up by
space-efficient trie, and hash-tables implemented on
top of sparse vectors. They are memory efficient than
the builtin hash tables when you want to keep tens of
                millions of entries.

o Autoprovide: You no longer need 'provide' form for
most of times. If (require "X") successfully loads
X.scm and it doesn't have a provide form, the feature
"X" is automatically provided. See the "Require and
provide" section of the reference for more details.

o Module gauche.test: Improved testing for
exceptions. You can now test whether a specific type
of condition is thrown by giving (test-error
condition-type) as the expected result. See the manual
                entry for more details.

o Module rfc.http: Now handles proxy by :proxy keyword
argument. You can also easily compose
                application/x-www-form-urlencoded and
                multipart/form-data message to send form
parameters. New procedures: http-put and http-delete.

o Module rfc.mime: Added support of composing a MIME
                message.

              o Module gauche.threads: New procedures: thread-stop!,
                thread-cont!, thread-state.

o Module gauche.termios: On Windows native support, this
module provides Windows Console API instead of POSIX
termios API, since emulationg POSIX termios on Windows
is too much. A set of common high-level API that can
be used on both POSIX and Windows are also added.

              o Module gauche.dictionary provides a bidirectional map,
                <bimap>.

              o run-process in module gauche.process, and builtin
                sys-exec and sys-fork-and-exec support :directory
keyword argument to specify the working directory of
                the executed process.

              o Module file.util provides create-directory-tree and
                check-directory-tree.

              o Module gauche.net provides low-level socket
                operations: socket-sendmsg, socket-buildmsg, and
                socket-ioctl. Call-with-client-socket takes new
keyword args to specify buffering mode for the socket.

o Module www.cgi: cgi-main switches the buffering mode
of stderr to line, so that the httpd log can record
error messages line-by-line (much less clutter than
                before).

        * Major fixes and improvements

o Fixed build problem on OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

o Performance is greatly improved on floating point
number arithmetics, optional argument handling of
                builtin procedures, and case-lambda.

o Now all whitespace characters defined in R6RS works as
intertoken spaces in the source code.

o A warning message is printed when a thread exits with
an error and no other thread retrieve its status by
thread-join! before the thread is GC-ed. This helps
troubleshooting. Since thread-join! is the only way to
know if the thread exitted by an error, you have
either to call thread-join! to make sure to check the
status, or to write the thread thunk to catch all
                errors and handle them properly.

o Anonymous module name is #f now, instead of (somewhat
                arbitrarily chosen) |#|.

o Some enhancements on symbols: 'uninterned' symbos are
officially supported (symbols generated by gensym have
been uninterned, but never been documented
officially.) Uninterned symbols are written as
#:symbol a la CommonLisp. Uninterned symbols are not
registered to the internal symbol table, so there's no
worry about name crash. The only way to refer to the
same uninterned symbol from more than one place in the
source code is to use srfi-38 notation (#n= and
#n#). You can create uninterned symbol by
string->uninterned-symbol and check whether a symbol
is interned or not by symbol-intened?. There is also a
                new procedure, symbol-sans-prefix.

        * Windows support

o Precompiled binary installer for Windows is now
available. Get Gauche-mingw-0.9.exe. It is supported
on Windows NT 3.5 and later (sorry, no support for
                Win9x.)

o Precompiled binary does not include thread and gdbm
support (yet). It is compiled to use utf-8 internal
                encoding.

o Some Unix-specific system functions are not available,
or have slightly different semantics because they are
emulated via Windows API. If a function is not
available on Windows, the reference manual says
so. Windows version hasn't be used heavily, so expect
                bugs.

o Large character set support on Windows Console is
pretty limited. It is recommended to run gosh under
Emacs for interactive use. See WindowsConsole for the
                details.

2008/10/6

    Gauche 0.8.14: Maintenance release.

        * Bug fixes

o In some cases, an argument list passed to apply wasn't
                copied.

o On some platforms, signal mask of threads could be
altered inadvertently by exception handling due to the
                different behavior of sigsetjmp.

o format now raises an error if there's an incomplete
tilde sequence in the given format string.

o Internal parameter (gauche.parameter) code had a bug
                that allocates not enough storage.

o There was a couple of bugs in dynamic-load that could
cause dead lock or leaving internal state
                inconsistent.

o Module rfc.http: The 'host' field became inconsistent
                when redirection happened.

        * R6RS-ish extensions

              o R6RS reader directive #!r6rs, #!fold-case and
#!no-fold-case are recognized now. The latter two can
be used to change case-folding mode of the reader in
the middle of the source code. See the manual for the
                details.

o New core procedures: finite?, infinite?, nan?, eof-object.

o Two argument version of log: (log z b) is for base-b
                logarithm of z.

        * Extension-building improvements

              o gauche-config script provides --rpath-flag option to
                retrieve platform-specific rpath link option
                (e.g. "-Wl,--rpath -Wl,").

o gauche-package script accepts --local option to the
'compile' and 'install' command to add local include
paths and local library search paths
                conveniently. Basically, gauche-package compile
                --local=DIR package.tgz causes -IDIR/include and
-LDIR/lib to be added to the actual compile and link
command lines. To give more than one directory, say
                --local=DIR1:DIR2:....

o A stub generator and ahead-of-time compiler (the
facility to pre-compile Scheme code into VM
instruction array as static C data) is integrated,
allowing C and Scheme code to be mixed in the same
source; this feature is not yet documented and the
details are subject to change, but the curious mind
can take a look at ext/dbm/*, which were much simpler
                than the previous version.

        * Additional improvements, new procedures & macros

o GC is now Boehm GC 7.1.

o Large part of VM code is rewritten for better
                performance and maintainability.

              o New procedure: hash-table-copy.

              o New convenience macros: rlet1 and if-let1.

o You can now hook exit operation by the exit-handler
parameter. See the "Program termination" section of
the manual for the detailed description of this
                feature.

              o Made sys-lstat work like sys-stat on Windows platform;
one less headache to write cross-platform code.

              o Module gauche.net: Constants SHUT_RD, SHUT_WR and
SHUT_RDWR are defined to pass to socket-shutdown.

o Module file.util: New convenience procedures:
                copy-directory*, touch-files, remove-files,
                delete-files.

o Module dbm.*: Renamed dbm-rename to dbm-move for the
consistency. (The old name is kept as alias for the
backward compatibility). Added dbm-copy and dbm-move
missing from dbm.fsdbm. Also properly detects
variations of suffixes of ndbm-compatible database at
                configuration time.

o Module www.cgi: :mode option is added to the MIME part
handler passed to get-mime-parts to specify the
                permissions of the saved file.

              o Module rfc.ip: New procedure: ipv4-global-address?.
