2009-08-31 12:42:19 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 2.5.

Bug Fixes

1. Change to workaround problem where correct version of Python
framework isn't being found at run time and instead uses the standard
system one, which may be the wrong version. Change is for those Python
versions on MacOS X which include a .a in Python config directory,
which should be symlinked to framework, link against the .a
instead. For some reason, doing this results in framework then being
picked up from the correct location.

This problem may well have only started cropping up at some point due
to a MacOS X Leopard patch update as has been noticed that Python
frameworks installed previously stopped being found properly when
mod_wsgi was subsequently recompiled against them. Something may
therefore have changed in compiler tools suite.

For more details see:

    http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/issues/detail?id=28

2. Remove isatty from Log object used for stdout/stderr. It should
have been a function and not an attribute. Even so, isatty() is not
meant to be supplied by a file like object if it is associated with a
file descriptor. Thus, packages which want to use isatty() are
supposed to check for its existance before calling it. Thus wasn't
ever mod_wsgi that was wrong in not supply this, but the packages
which were trying to use it.

For more details see:

(joerg)

2009-08-31 12:19:38 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Imported gbemol-0.3.2 from pkgsrc-wip:

gbemol allows you to use MPD with a userfriendly interface.
Features include an easy-to-use, tag-oriented library browser,
a two mode playlist, cover art support (APIC tag only, for now),
system tray icon docking, song, album and artist information.

Music Player Daemon is a server that allows remote access for playing
audio files, streams and managing playlists. The daemon is controlled
through a client which need not run on the same computer mpd runs on.

Updated mail/postfix-current to 2.7.20090828

The stable release Postfix 2.6.5 addresses the defects described
below (some already addressed with the not-announced Postfix 2.6.3
release).  These defects are also addressed in the legacy releases
that are still maintained: Postfix 2.5.9, 2.4.13 and 2.3.19.

Do not use Postfix 2.6.4, 2.5.8, 2.4.12, 2.3.18, 2.7-20090807, and
2.7-20090807-nonprod.  These contain a DNS workaround that causes
more trouble than it prevents. It is removed until further notice.

Defects fixed with Postfix 2.6.3, 2.5.9, 2.4.13 and 2.3.19:

- The Postfix Milter client got out of step with a Milter application
  after the application sent a "quarantine" request at end-of-message
  time. The Milter application would still be in the end-of-message
  state, while Postfix would already be working on the next SMTP
  event, typically, QUIT or MAIL FROM. In the latter case, Milter
  responses for the previously-received email message would be
  applied towards the next MAIL FROM transaction.  This problem was
  diagnosed with help from Alban Deniz.

Defects fixed with Postfix 2.6.5, 2.5.9, 2.4.13 and 2.3.19:

- The Postfix SMTP server would abort with an "unexpected lookup
  table" error when an SMTPD policy server was mis-configured in a
  particular way.

Update to 0.7.35:

telepathy-glib 0.7.35 (2009-08-18)
==================================

The "dance to the sound of sirens" release.

API changes:

* fd.o #17751: TpBaseConnection no longer guarantees that the self-handle is
  set to 0 when the state changes to DISCONNECTED; instead, the self-handle
  remains valid until the connection is disposed, so that connection managers
  can use it during teardown. (cassidy)
  - This change will cause assertion failures on disconnection in
    telepathy-sofiasip older than 0.5.17, and in telepathy-gabble older than
    0.7.9.

Enhancements:

* Add tp_dbus_daemon_list_names() and tp_dbus_daemon_list_activatable_names(),
  which are more efficient (and more const-correct) versions of the
  corresponding autogenerated tp_cli_dbus_daemon methods (smcv)

* Support the Hold interface in the "callable" example CM (andrunko)

Fixes:

* Finally make tp_dbus_daemon_watch_name_owner bind to NameOwnerChanged
  selectively, for reduced wakeups. To take advantage of this, you should
  avoid using all functions that start with tp_cli_dbus_daemon_; file bugs
  to request more replacement functions in the tp_dbus_daemon namespace. (smcv)

* Fix a memory leak in tp_dbus_daemon_watch_name_owner (smcv)

* fd.o #9812: TpDynamicHandleRepo: use tp_dbus_daemon_watch_name_owner for
  reduced wakeups (smcv)

* In TpDynamicHandleRepo, if a client holds handles then immediately crashes,
  release those handles as soon as we find out that it's gone (smcv)

* fd.o #22957: fix compilation in some non-gcc compilers
  (based on a patch from Elaine Xiong)

* As per telepathy-spec 0.17.27, represent connection status reason NAME_IN_USE
  as TP_ERROR_CONNECTION_REPLACED or TP_ERROR_ALREADY_CONNECTED (as
  appropriate), not as TP_ERROR_NOT_YOURS, so that NotYours can safely be given
  special handling (smcv)

telepathy-glib 0.7.34 (2009-08-16)
==================================

The "secret lack of example detected" release.

Enhancements:

* Updated to telepathy-spec 0.17.27 (smcv)
  - generate code for Connection.Interface.Location
  - omit Debug interface from code-generation for now: it will be enabled in a
    future release when we have reference client- and service-side
    implementations (possibly called TpDebugReceiver and TpDebugSender)
  - add more errors
  - generate code for Handler.Capabilities property

* Add macros for static assertions (tp_verify, tp_verify_true,
  tp_verify_statement) to util.h (smcv, adapted from gnulib)

* Make the allocation model for tp_dbus_properties_mixin_make_properties_hash
  part of our ABI guarantee (smcv)

* Add a GType macro TP_ARRAY_TYPE_OBJECT_PATH_LIST (wjt)

Fixes:

* fd.o #23164: don't unref a NULL DBusMessage (wjt)

* Get tp_intset_iter_init and tp_intset_iter_reset into the documentation (smcv)

* Make omitted CM parameters that have a default indistinguishable from
  explicitly-passed parameters with that value, removing the need to specify
  the default in the Connection as well (sjoerd)

* fd.o #22889: reduce introspection round-trips (wjt)

* Fix header guard in debug.h (dilinger)

* fd.o #18091: for interfaces with D-Bus methods, document how to write a
  complete interface init function (smcv)

* Fix a rare crash when a TpProxyPendingCall is cancelled before the
  DBusGProxyCall is provided (smcv)

Fix build problem on Solaris with PKGSRC_COMPILER=sunpro and 'db4'
in PKG_OPTIONS.apr-util/PKG_DEFAULT_OPTIONS.

USE_LANGUAGES should be set before including mk/apache.mk as it
(may) ends up including mk/compiler.mk.
This last file sets a default value of 'c' to USE_LANGUAGES and
then uses it to set PKG_CC, PKG_CXX and PKG_FC to "fail wrappers".
Hence the C++ compiler command ends up being wrapped by a "fail
script" thus breaks the build.

Updated www/ikiwiki to 3.1415926

(schmonz)

2009-08-30 23:30:08 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 3.1415926. From the changelog:

* [ Joey Hess ]
  * po: Detect if nowrapi18n can't be passed to po4a, and warn about
    the old version, but continue. Closes: #541205
  * inline: Avoid use of my $_ as it fails with older perls.
    Closes: #541215
  * Add discussionpage configuration setting.
  * Several optimisations, including speedups to orphans and brokenlinks
    calculation.
  * meta, img: Fix bugs in dependency code. (smcv)
  * Allow building ikiwiki on systems w/o po4a --
    building of the translated underlays will be skipped in this case.
  * Add basic styling of po plugin's languages list.
  * inline: Display an error if feedpages is specified and fails to match
    due to a problem such as created_before being told to check against
    a page that does not exist.
  * Remove deprecated ikiwiki/blog and ikiwiki/preprocessordirective
    pages from the basewiki.
  * Updated French program translation from Philippe Batailler.
    Closes: #542036
  * po: Fixed to run rcs_add ralative to srcdir.
  * Italian program translation from Luca Bruno.
  * Fix example blog's tags/life to not have a broken PageSpec.
    Closes: #543510
  * Optimize the dependencies list. This also fixes a bug
    that could cause repeated refreshes of the wiki to grow
    increasingly larger dependency lists, and get increasingly
    slower. (smcv)
  * Rebuild wikis on upgrade to this version to fix bloat caused
    by the dependency bug.
  * Further optimisation of dependency handling by adding a special
    case for simple page dependencies. (smcv)
  * htmltidy: Return an error message if tidy fails. Closes: #543722
  * po: Fix name of translated toplevel index page. (intrigeri)
  * po: Fix display of links from a translated page to itself (ntrigeri)
  * Add Czech basewiki translation from Miroslav Kure.
  * po: fix interdiction to create pages of type po (intrigeri)
  * po: po: favor the type of linking page's masterpage on page creation
    (intrigeri)
  * img: Don't generate new verison of image if it is scaled to be
    larger in either dimension.
* [ Josh Triplett ]
  * teximg: Replace the insufficient blacklist with the built-in security
    mechanisms of TeX. (CVE-2009-2944)

In order to fix a performance bug, all wikis need to be rebuilt on
upgrade to this version. If you listed your wiki in /etc/ikiwiki/wikilist,
use ikiwiki-mass-rebuild to force a rebuild.

Update xterm to Patch#246.

Patch #246 - 2009/8/16

    * remove obsolete logic for saving/restoring wrapping flags, which did not
      work on 64-bit platform. Wrapping flags (stored in the line-index) are now
      copied with line-data (Debian #541160).
    * modify comments in app-defaults files to avoid problem with C preprocessor
      used by xrdb (Debian #541603).
    * restore special case in makeColorPair, needed for colorBDMode resource
      (Debian #541089).
    * correct SetLineFlags() macro, broken in patch #244 when recoding to avoid
      gcc-specific bitfields (Debian #541236).
    * modify initialization of screen buffers to ensure that pointers align to
      int-boundaries. This fixes a problem introduced in patch #244 where the
      color- and character-arrays (stored after the video-attributes in each
      row) might be misaligned (report by Rajeev V Pillai).
    * add limit-check in ScrnRefresh for handling saved-lines from the circular
      buffer which are repainted on a screen whose width has increased. To
      improve performance, circular buffer entries are not resized (report by
      Rajeev V Pillai).
    * correct type for CellColor (a late change in patch #244 to avoid gcc-
      specifc enums made that unsigned rather than unsigned short, for the
      256-color option).
    * fix typo in configure option --enable-16bit-chars (report by Rajeev V.
      Pillai).

Patch #245 - 2009/8/12

    * correct a special case in saving FIFO-lines from patch #244. If the screen
      was shrunk, xterm used the wrong amount for copying to FIFO-lines, and
      then used this amount to adjust the current row on the screen. That was
      both a visible defect (Debian #541109) as well as a potential addressing
      error (Debian #541132, #541160, and #541236).
    * add clarification in xterm manual about the various allowXXXOps resources,
      which are disabled when the allowSendEvents resource is active (patch by
      Julien Cristau, Debian #531597).

Patch #244 - 2009/8/9

    * refactored storage of saved-lines, providing a configure option to manage
      them as a FIFO (actually a circular buffer), improving performance. Added
      configure option --enable-fifo-lines to enable/disable the new feature (it
      is enabled by default).
    * added fastScroll resource, to amuse people who measure terminal emulator
      performance by cat'ing large files to the screen.
    * modify check in readPtyData from return values to provide exit on zero-
      bytes read from pty for FreeBSD, or eliminate high-CPU in "xterm-hold"
      processing (discussion with Ulrich Spoerlein, FreeBSD ports/136686). The
      check was originally modified to combine negative/zero values in
      XFree86-3.1.2E, 1996/05/06.
    * add configure option --enable-16bit-chars to provide wide-characters with
      16-bits (rather than the default 32-bits).
    * add retryInputMethod resource to allow configuring out the retries xterm
      uses to connect to non-responsive XIM server, to work around defective X
      configurations as noted in NetBSD mailing list.
      http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-x11/2009/06/07/msg000511.html
    * make regular-expression selection work for VT100 double-sized characters.
    * improve layout when drawing missing characters in a proportional font,
      e.g., as boxes, to take into account whether they are double-width
      (report by Guilbert Stabilo on comp.unix.shell).
    * add capability for keypad-center (kb2/KA2) to termcap entry for xterm-new,
      as well as xterm-8bit, xterm-sun and xterm-vt220 (FreeBSD conf/136336).
    * change default for keepSelection resource to true (prompted by discussion
      with David Muir Sharnoff).
    * remove a limit-check in ptydata.c, allowing Unicode values past 64k to be
      displayed using TrueType fonts (Debian #458432).
    * remove a vt52-specific ifdef to allow mapping F1-F4 to PF1-PF4 when vt52
      support is not compiled (report by Olaf 'Rhialto' Seibert).
    * save/restore line-wrapping flags when converting from ISO-8859-1 encoding
      to UTF-8 encoding, as well as when resizing screen.
    * remove extra adjustment of position in fix for Debian #418324.
    * modify default check for mkWidth resource to check for line-drawing
      characters, which are categorized as double-width in Solaris 10 (report by
      Sebastian Kayser).
    * add "print-everything" action (patch by Ovidiu Gheorghioiu).
    * start refactoring scrollback data using new getLineData() function.
    * demote recent change to Debian #252873 fix to experimental, ifdef'd out as
      EXP_BOGUS_FG (Debian #522141).
    * work around groff mapping of ASCII quotes using macros (requested by
      Reuben Thomas based on Colin Watson advice, fixes Debian #378700).
    * correct symbol used for default of allowWindowOps which was DEF_ALLOW_FONT
      rather than DEF_ALLOW_WINDOW (report by Matthieu Herrb).
    * amend fix for tek4014 from patch #243 to make it only apply to the Tek
      Options menu.

[1.104] Released 2009-08-23

    This release is dedicated to Tom Wyant in appreciation of the amount of
    effort he put into the enhancements and bug fixes in this release, for
    having the patience to wait for the amount of time that it took to get
    them out, and for overall awesomeness.  Thank you, Tom.

    New Policies:
      Objects::ProhibitIndirectSyntax
      ValuesAndExpressions::ProhibitComplexVersion
      ValuesAndExpressions::RequireConstantVersion

    New Optional Requirement:
    * Email::Address, if you want
      ValuesAndExpressions::ProhibitInterpolationOfLiterals to properly ignore
      emaila addresses.

    New Features:
    * Perlcritic will list the names of files with violations if given the
      --files-with-violations option, or the names of files without
      violations if given the --files-without-violations options. These
      have synonyms -l and -L respectively.
    * Perlcritic has a new --list-enabled option, which lists the Policies
      that will be enforced, given the current configuration.  This is
      useful if you've written a complex command-line or modified your
      .perlcriticrc file and you want to see which Policies *would*
      be used with the current configuration, if you were actually going
      to critque a file with it.
    * Perl::Critic::Violation now takes #line directives into account in the
      %F, %f, and %l formats.  You can get the old values via the new %G, %g,
      and %L formats.

    Policy Changes:
    * CodeLayout::ProhibitParensWithBuiltins was complaining in certain cases
      where parentheses are required due to operator precedence.  RT #46862.
    * ControlStructures::ProhibitMutatingListFunctions no longer complains
      about uses of tr/// that don't modify the operand.  Reported by EDAVIS,
      RT #44515.
    * Miscellanea::RequireRcsKeywords now accepts "qw$Keyword: ...$".  RT
      #45196.
    * Modules::RequireFilenameMatchesPackage now respects logical filenames
      defined by the "#line" directives.  This allows the Policy to work
      properly with IDEs and code generators.
    * NamingConventions::Capitalization now allows fully qualified subroutine
      declarations ( e.g. "sub Foo::Bar::baz {...}" ).  However, the
      non-package part of the subroutine name must still conform to whatever
      capitalization rule you have chosen.
    * RegularExpressions::ProhibitCaptureWithoutTest no longer complains if
      the regex is followed by an "or die" or similar.  Reported by EDAVIS,
      RT #36081.
    * RegularExpressions::ProhibitComplexRegexes no longer counts variable
      substitutions in the length.  Reported by EDAVIS, RT #36098.
    * RegularExpressions::ProhibitUnusedCapture now considers the body of
      while loops and not just their condition.  Reported by EDAVIS, RT
      #38942.
    * ValuesAndExpressions::ProhibitInterpolationOfLiterals can now properly
      ignore email addresses if you have Email::Address installed.
    * ValuesAndExpressions::ProhibitVersionStrings was getting confused by
      comments.  Reported by Kevin Ryde,  RT #44986.
    * ValuesAndExpressions::RequireInterpolationOfMetachars now allows sigils
      in the arguments to "use vars".  Contributed by Kevin Ryde, RT #47318.
    * ValuesAndExpressions::RequireInterpolationOfMetachars now properly
      ignores email addesses, if you have Email::Address installed.  Inspired
      by the Kevin Ryde contribution in RT #47318.
    * Variables::ProhibitPunctuationVars gained the ability to look inside
      interpolated strings.  Doing this correctly is challenging and things
      may not work out right; how the policy does this can be controlled via
      the new "string_mode" option.  Contributed by Edgar Whipple
      <perlmonk at misterwhipple dot com>.
    * Variables::ProhibitPunctuationVars now ignores $] by default since there
      is no English.pm equivalent.

    Other Bug Fixes:
    * Perl::Critic::Utils::parse_arg_list() was slurping up the "or die ..."
      portion of "open my $foo, 'somefile' or die ...", causing
      InputOutput::ProhibitTwoArgOpen to not complain about this example.
      Reported by Alexandr Ciornii,  RT #44554.

    Minor Changes
    * The line count emitted by the --statistics option is further broken down
      by line content.

    Minor Documentation Fixes:
    * ValuesAndExpressions::ProhibitInterpolationOfLiterals.  Reported by
      Debian in http://bugs.debian.org/542814,  RT #48936

    Build Fixes:
    * There wasn't a specific version given for the List::MoreUtils dependency
      and we're using features that weren't avialable until 0.19.  So, we now
      require version 0.19.  Noticed by John J. Trammell,  RT #48917.
    * Some tests were tied to the specific "true" and "false" values that some
      functions were returning.  Reported by Michael Schwern,  RT #43910.

    Other News:
    * Komodo version 5.1.1 now has built-in support for Perl-Critic,
      if you have the Perl::Critic and criticism modules installed.
      Both should be available through the ActiveState Perl Package
      Manager ppm(1).

Updated chat/inspircd12 to 1.2.0

(adrianp)

2009-08-29 22:42:47 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

1.2.0 Final
- This contains a number of (hopefully fairly small) changes which should round up, most of the fixes are config reading regressions introduced in rc4 as a result of race condition bugs found in rc3.
- A few years in the making, months in the testing, thousands of lines of code in the writing, we're finally done. 1.2.0 is ready for every day usage. A grand total of 0 issues have been reported since rc5, so we are confident that things should have settled down now, though we will remain ready to rectify any problems that arise.
- 1.2.0 is now recommended for usage.

          DEPRECATED -run OPTION TO APP CLASS IMPORT
          "use MyApp -run;" is deprecated; it will be removed after no less
          than a year

          this led to problems where normal exit-on-error messages confused
          users by complaining about failing to compile; magic to stop this is
          not worth the tiny savings

          COMMANDS SHOULD NOW HAVE ->execute RATHER THAN ->run
          this will not break you code... except:

  Log Message:
  Update to 2.8.3.  Changes:

  * Version 2.8.3 (released 2009-08-13)

  ** libgnutls: Fix patch for NUL in CN/SAN in last release.
  Code intended to be removed would lead to an read-out-bound error in
  some situations.  Reported by Tomas Hoger <thoger@redhat.com>.  A CVE
  code have been allocated for the vulnerability: [CVE-2009-2730].

  ** libgnutls: Fix rare failure in gnutls_x509_crt_import.
  The function may fail incorrectly when an earlier certificate was
  imported to the same gnutls_x509_crt_t structure.

  ** libgnutls-extra, libgnutls-openssl: Fix MinGW cross-compiling build
  error.

  ** tests: Made self-test mini-eagain take less time.

  ** doc: Typo fixes.

  ** API and ABI modifications:
  No changes since last version.

  * Version 2.8.2 (released 2009-08-10)

  ** libgnutls: Fix problem with NUL bytes in X.509 CN and SAN fields.
  By using a NUL byte in CN/SAN fields, it was possible to fool GnuTLS
  into 1) not printing the entire CN/SAN field value when printing a
  certificate and 2) cause incorrect positive matches when matching a
  hostname against a certificate.  Some CAs apparently have poor
  checking of CN/SAN values and issue these (arguable invalid)
  certificates.  Combined, this can be used by attackers to become a
  MITM on server-authenticated TLS sessions.  The problem is mitigated
  since attackers needs to get one certificate per site they want to
  attack, and the attacker reveals his tracks by applying for a
  certificate at the CA.  It does not apply to client authenticated TLS
  sessions.  Research presented independently by Dan Kaminsky and Moxie
  Marlinspike at BlackHat09.  Thanks to Tomas Hoger <thoger@redhat.com>
  for providing one part of the patch.  [GNUTLS-SA-2009-4].

  ** libgnutls: Fix return value of gnutls_certificate_client_get_request_sta=
  tus.
  Before it always returned false.  Reported by Peter Hendrickson
  <pdh@wiredyne.com> in
  <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3668>.

  ** libgnutls: Fix off-by-one size computation error in unknown DN printing.
  The error resulted in truncated strings when printing unknown OIDs in
  X.509 certificate DNs.  Reported by Tim Kosse
  <tim.kosse@filezilla-project.org> in
  <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3651>.

  ** libgnutls: Return correct bit lengths of some MPIs.
  gnutls_dh_get_prime_bits, gnutls_rsa_export_get_modulus_bits, and
  gnutls_dh_get_peers_public_bits.  Before the reported value was
  overestimated.  Reported by Peter Hendrickson <pdh@wiredyne.com> in
  <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3607>.

  ** libgnutls: Avoid internal error when invoked after GNUTLS_E_AGAIN.
  Report and patch by Tim Kosse <tim.kosse@filezilla-project.org> in
  <http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3671>
  and
  <http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3670>.

  ** libgnutls: Relax checking of required libtasn1/libgcrypt versions.
  Before we required that the runtime library used the same (or more
  recent) libgcrypt/libtasn1 as it was compiled with.  Now we just check
  that the runtime usage is above the minimum required.  Reported by
  Marco d'Itri <md@linux.it> via Andreas Metzler
  <ametzler@downhill.at.eu.org> in <http://bugs.debian.org/540449>.

  ** minitasn1: Internal copy updated to libtasn1 v2.3.

  ** tests: Fix failure in "chainverify" because a certificate have expired.

  ** API and ABI modifications:
  No changes since last version.
