2009-02-10 11:51:26 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Added audio/mserv-irman version 0.21

mserv-irman allows easy control of the 'mserv' mp3 jukebox program
using ordinary remote controls and irman receivers from evation.com.

mserv already allows rating of tracks to allow the system to pick
tracks appropriate to who is currently connected. mserv-irman works
with this to permit relatively peaceful sharing of an mp3 jukebox
in an office of widely disparate tastes.

This replaces audio/mserv_irman, also moving the source to code.google
and enabling DESTDIR support

Updated textproc/hunspell to 1.2.8

(ahoka)

2009-02-08 18:25:40 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 1.2.8.
No longer needs ncurses (at least on NetBSD 5.0).

Official changelog:

2008-11-01: Hunspell 1.2.8 release:
  - Default BREAK feature and better hyphenated word suggestion to accept
    and fix (compound) words with hyphen characters by spell checker
    instead of by work breaking code of OpenOffice.org. With this feature
    it's possible to accept hyphenated compound words, such as "scot-free",
    where "scot" is not a correct English word.

  - ICONV & OCONV: input and output conversion tables for optional character
    handling or using special inner format. Example:

  # Accepting de facto replacements of the Romanian comma acuted letters
  SET UTF-8
  ICONV 4
  ICONV ş ș
  ICONV Å£ ț
  ICONV Ş Ș
  ICONV Å¢ Ț

    Typical usage of ICONV/OCONV is to manage an inner format for a segmental
    writing system, like the Ethiopic script of the Amharic language.

  - Extended CHECKCOMPOUNDPATTERN to handle conpound word alternations, like
    sandhi feature of Telugu and other writing systems.

  - SIMPLIFIEDTRIPLE compound word feature: allow simplified Swedish and
    Norwegian compound word forms, like tillÃ¥ta (till|lÃ¥ta) and
    bussjÃ¥før (buss|sjÃ¥før)

  - wordforms: word generator script for dictionary developers (Hunspell
    version of unmunch).

  - bug fixes

2008-08-15: Hunspell 1.2.7 release:
  - FULLSTRIP: new option for affix handling. With FULLSTRIP, affix rules can
    strip full words, not only one less characters.
  - COMPOUNDRULE works with all flag types. (COMPOUNDRULE is for pattern
    matching. For example, en_US dictionary of OpenOffice.org uses COMPOUNDRULE
    for ordinal number recognition: 1st, 2nd, 11th, 12th, 22nd, 112th, 1000122nd
    etc.).
  - optimized suggestions:
    - modified 1-character distance suggestion algorithms: search a TRY character
      in all position instead of all TRY characters in a character position
      (it can give more readable suggestion order, also better suggestions
      in the first positions, when TRY characters are sorted by frequency.)
      For example, suggestions for "moze":
      ooze, doze, Roze, maze, more etc. (Hunspell 1.2.6),
      maze, more, mote, ooze, mole etc. (Hunspell 1.2.7).
    - extended compound word checking for better COMPOUNDRULE related
      suggestions, for example English ordinal numbers: 121323th -> 121323rd
      (it needs also a th->rd REP definition).
  - bug fixes

2008-07-15: Hunspell 1.2.6 release:
  - bug fix release (fix affix rule condition checking of sk_SK dictionary,
    iconv support in stemming and morphological analysis of the Hunspell
    utility, see also Changelog)

2008-07-09: Hunspell 1.2.5 release:
  - bug fix release (fix affix rule condition checking of en_GB dictionary,
    also morphological analysis by dictionaries with two-level suffixes)

2008-06-18: Hunspell 1.2.4-2 release:
  - fix GCC compiler warnings

2008-06-17: Hunspell 1.2.4 release:
  - add free_list() for C, C++ interfaces to deallocate suggestion lists

  - bug fixes

2008-06-17: Hunspell 1.2.3 release:
  - extended XML interface to use morphological functions by standard
    spell checking interface, spell() and suggest(). See hunspell.3 manual page.

  - default dash suggestions for compound words: newword-> new word and new-word

  - new manual pages: hunspell.3, hzip.1, hunzip.1.

  - bug fixes

Log Message:
Updated www/mediawiki to 1.13.4

A number of cross-site scripting (XSS) security vulnerabilities were
discovered in the web-based installer (config/index.php). These
vulnerabilities all require a live installer -- once the installer has been
used to install a wiki, it is deactivated.

Note that cross-site scripting vulnerabilities can be used to attack any
website in the same cookie domain. So if you have an uninstalled copy of
MediaWiki on the same site as an active web service, MediaWiki could be used
to attack the active service.  If you are hosting an old copy of MediaWiki
that you have never installed, we advise you to remove it from the web.

Log Message:
Upgrade from version 5.0.67 to 5.0.67nb1.

Two changes to the rc.d script:
1) Move the setting of pidfile to a place so that setting mysqld_datadir
    in rc.conf will actually work; otherwise, if you use a non-default
    mysqld_datadir, mysqld will not start.
2) ad@ pointed me to http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=18526, and said
    that --skip-thread-priority should not be used on NetBSD, and the
    PR spoke about Darwin / OS/X.  I'm guessing that this might work
    if the host platform is Linux or SunOS (the latter is unconfirmed).
    So add that option to the startup in all other cases.

Changes 8.3.6:
* Make "DISCARD ALL" release advisory locks, in addition to
  everything it already did
  This was decided to be the most appropriate behavior. This could
  affect existing applications, however.
* Fix whole-index GiST scans to work correctly
  This error could cause rows to be lost if a table is clustered on a
  GiST index.
* Fix crash of xmlconcat(NULL)
* Fix possible crash in ispell dictionary if high-bit-set characters
  are used as flags
  This is known to be done by one widely available Norwegian
  dictionary, and the same condition may exist in others.
* Fix misordering of pg_dump output for composite types
  The most likely problem was for user-defined operator classes to be
  dumped after indexes or views that needed them.
* Improve handling of URLs in headline() function
* Improve handling of overlength headlines in headline() function
* Prevent possible Assert failure or misconversion if an encoding
  conversion is created with the wrong conversion function for the
  specified pair of encodings
* Fix possible Assert failure if a statement executed in PL/pgSQL is
  rewritten into another kind of statement, for example if an
  "INSERT" is rewritten into an "UPDATE"
* Ensure that a snapshot is available to datatype input functions
* Make it safer for SPI-using functions to be used within datatype
  I/O; in particular, to be used in domain check constraints
* Avoid unnecessary locking of small tables in "VACUUM"
* Fix a problem that sometimes kept "ALTER TABLE ENABLE/DISABLE RULE"
  from being recognized by active sessions
* Fix a problem that made UPDATE RETURNING tableoid return zero
  instead of the correct OID
* Allow functions declared as taking ANYARRAY to work on the
  pg_statistic columns of that type
  This used to work, but was unintentionally broken in 8.3.
* Fix planner misestimation of selectivity when transitive equality
  is applied to an outer-join clause
  This could result in bad plans for queries like ... from a left
  join b on a.a1 = b.b1 where a.a1 = 42 ...
* Improve optimizer's handling of long IN lists
  This change avoids wasting large amounts of time on such lists when
  constraint exclusion is enabled.
* Prevent synchronous scan during GIN index build
  Because GIN is optimized for inserting tuples in increasing TID
  order, choosing to use a synchronous scan could slow the build by a
  factor of three or more.
* Ensure that the contents of a holdable cursor don't depend on the
  contents of TOAST tables
* Fix memory leak when a set-returning function is terminated without
  reading its whole result
* Fix encoding conversion problems in XML functions when the database
  encoding isn't UTF-8
* Fix "contrib/dblink"'s dblink_get_result(text,bool) function
* Fix possible garbage output from "contrib/sslinfo" functions
* Fix incorrect behavior of "contrib/tsearch2" compatibility trigger
  when it's fired more than once in a command
* Fix possible mis-signaling in autovacuum
* Support running as a service on Windows 7 beta
* Fix ecpg's handling of varchar structs
* Fix configure script to properly report failure when unable to
  obtain linkage information for PL/Perl
* Make all documentation reference pgsql-bugs and/or pgsql-hackers as
  appropriate, instead of the now-decommissioned pgsql-ports and
  pgsql-patches mailing lists
* Update time zone data files to tzdata release 2009a (for Kathmandu
  and historical DST corrections in Switzerland, Cuba)

Changes 8.1.16:
* Fix crash in autovacuum
  The crash occurs only after vacuuming a whole database for
  anti-transaction-wraparound purposes, which means that it occurs
  infrequently and is hard to track down.
* Improve handling of URLs in headline() function
* Improve handling of overlength headlines in headline() function
* Prevent possible Assert failure or misconversion if an encoding
  conversion is created with the wrong conversion function for the
  specified pair of encodings
* Avoid unnecessary locking of small tables in "VACUUM"

Note initial addition of p5-Expect-Simple version 0.04 as
devel/p5-Expect-Simple into The NetBSD Packages Collection.

The Perl 5 module Expect::Simple is a wrapper around the Expect
module which should suffice for simple applications. It hides most
of the Expect machinery; the Expect object is available for tweaking
if need be.

Added editors/ee version 1.4.6

The editor 'ee' (easy editor) is intended to be a simple, easy to use
terminal-based screen oriented editor that requires no instruction to
use.  Its primary use would be for people who are new to computers, or who
use computers only for things like e-mail.

ee's simplified interface is highlighted by the use of pop-up menus which
make it possible for users to carry out tasks without the need to
remember commands.  An information window at the top of the screen shows
the user the operations available with control-keys.

ee allows users to use full eight-bit characters.  If the host system has
the capabilities, ee can use message catalogs, which would allow users to
translate the message catalog into other languages which use eight-bit
characters.  See the file ee.i18n.guide for more details.

ee relies on the virtual memory abilities of the platform it is running on
and does not have its own memory management capabilities.

Note update of devel/p5-Moose to version 0.68

(seb)

2009-02-07 11:03:00 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update from version 0.65 to version 0.68.

Upstream changes:
0.68 Wed, February 4, 2009
    * POD
      - Many spelling, typo, and formatting fixes by daxim.

    * Moose::Manual::Attributes
      - The NAME section in the POD used "Attribute" so search.cpan
        didn't resolve links from other documents properly.

    * Moose::Meta::Method::Overriden
      - Now properly spelled as Overridden. Thanks to daxim for
        noticing this.

0.67 Tue, February 3, 2009
    * Moose::Manual::*
      - Lots of little typo fixes and a few clarifications. Several
        pages didn't have proper titles, and so weren't actually
        visible on search.cpan.org. Thanks to hanekomu for a variety
        of fixes and formatting improvements.

0.66 Tue, February 3, 2009
    * Moose::Manual
      - This is a brand new, extensive manual for Moose. This aims to
        provide a complete introduction to all of Moose's
        features. This work was funded as part of the Moose docs grant
        from TPF. (Dave Rolsky)

    * Moose::Meta::Attribute
      - Added a delegation_metaclass method to replace a hard-coded
        use of Moose::Meta::Method::Delegation. (Dave Rolsky)

    * Moose::Util::TypeConstraints
      - If you created a subtype and passed a parent that Moose didn't
        know about, it simply ignored the parent. Now it automatically
        creates the parent as a class type. This may not be what you
        want, but is less broken than before. (Dave Rolsky)

    * Moose::Util::TypeConstraints
      - This module tried throw errors by calling Moose->throw_error,
        but it did not ensure that Moose was loaded first. This could
        cause very unhelpful errors when it tried to throw an error
        before Moose was loaded. (Dave Rolsky)

    * Moose::Util::TypeConstraints
      - You could declare a name with subtype such as "Foo!Bar" that
        would be allowed, but if you used it in a parameterized type
        such as "ArrayRef[Foo!Bar]" it wouldn't work. We now do some
        vetting on names created via the sugar functions, so that they
        can only contain alphanumerics, ":", and ".". (Dave Rolsky)
