rabbitmq: updated to 3.11.9

RabbitMQ 3.11.9

Core Server

Bug Fixes

Stream delivery using RabbitMQ Stream protocol v2 could fail to start in some cases.

Nodes could run into an exception with certain publishers that used QPid for client library.

When discovering feature flags across the cluster, default stability level is now experimental and not stable.

Reset and manually added nodes could start receiving stream replica data before its database was initialized,
confusing all code paths that expected a blank node state.

Fixed a minor issue with feature flag log message formatting.

Enhancements

Improved support for the AMQP 1.0 message format (used internally by streams), in particular, when original message
was published using AMQP 1.0.

CLI Tools

Features

rabbitmqctl set_permissions_globally is a new command that sets up user permissions in all existing virtual hosts.

rabbitmq-diagnostics cluster_status now lists how many CPU cores are available to individual nodes, plus a total.

Management Plugin

Bug Fixes

Limits tab failed to load when there were no limits configured.

Enhancements

It is now possible to disable operator policy modifications. This can be necessary in
RabbitMQ-as-a-Service environments.

Contributed by @illotum (AWS).

AMQP 1.0 Plugin

Enhancements

Support for OAuth 2 authentication and authorization backends.

MQTT Plugin

Bug Fixes

MQTT nodes did not correctly remove client IDs for clients connected to a node that was in the process of
being removed from the cluster.

OAuth 2 Plugin

Bug Fixes

auth_oauth2.additional_scopes_key had no effect.

LDAP Plugin

Bug Fixes

Due to a $ sign escaping differences between Make and Bazel (the newly adopted build tool),
default value of of user_dn_pattern setting was incorrect (had an extra $).

(schmonz)

2023-02-14 15:08:42 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 2.1.8. From the changelog:

# New features

Users can now define a custom prefix for test function names. The prefix
can be configured by defining a `SHUNIT_TEST_PREFIX` variable.

Colorized output, based on popular demand. shUnit2 output is now
colorized based on the result of the asserts.

# Changes and Enhancements

Shell commands in shUnit2 are prefixed with '\' so that they can be
stubbed in tests.

# Bug fixes

Syntax errors in functions are now treated as test failures.

Test now fail when `setup()` or `tearDown()` fail.

shUnit2 no longer exits with an 'OK' result if there were syntax errors
due to incorrect usage of the assert commands.

# Known bugs and issues

Zsh requires the `shwordsplit` option to be set. See the documentation
for examples of how to do this.

Line numbers in assert messages do not work properly with BASH 2.x.

The Bourne shell of Solaris, BASH 2.x, and Zsh 3.0.x do not properly
catch the SIGTERM signal. As such, shell interpreter failures due to
such things as unbound variables cannot be caught. (See
`shunit_test_misc.sh`)

shUnit2 does not work when the `-e` shell option is set (typically done
with `set -e`).

# Tested platforms

Tested OSes:

- Linux
- macOS

Tested shells:

- /bin/sh
- ash
- bash
- dash

===========================
Django 3.2.18 release notes
===========================

*February 14, 2023*

Django 3.2.18 fixes a security issue with severity "moderate" in 3.2.17.

CVE-2023-24580: Potential denial-of-service vulnerability in file uploads
=========================================================================

Passing certain inputs to multipart forms could result in too many open files
or memory exhaustion, and provided a potential vector for a denial-of-service
attack.

The number of files parts parsed is now limited via the new
:setting:`DATA_UPLOAD_MAX_NUMBER_FILES` setting.

===========================
Django 3.2.17 release notes
===========================

*February 1, 2023*

Django 3.2.17 fixes a security issue with severity "moderate" in 3.2.16.

CVE-2023-23969: Potential denial-of-service via ``Accept-Language`` headers
===========================================================================

The parsed values of ``Accept-Language`` headers are cached in order to avoid
repetitive parsing. This leads to a potential denial-of-service vector via
excessive memory usage if large header values are sent.

In order to avoid this vulnerability, the ``Accept-Language`` header is now
parsed up to a maximum length.

doc: Updated security/putty to 0.78

(ryoon)

2023-02-14 03:28:07 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

putty: Update to 0.78

Changelog:
These features are new in 0.78 (released 2022-10-29):

Support for OpenSSH certificates, for both user authentication keys and host keys.
New SSH proxy modes, for running a custom shell command or subsystem on the proxy server instead of forwarding a port through it.
New plugin system to allow a helper program to provide responses in keyboard-interactive authentication, intended to automate one-time password systems.
Support for NTRU Prime post-quantum key exchange,
Support for AES-GCM (in the OpenSSH style rather than RFC 5647).
Support for more forms of Diffie-Hellman key exchange: new larger integer groups (such as group16 and group18), and support for using those and ECDH with GSSAPI.
SSH configuration panels slightly reorganised. In particular, the configuration option 'Private key file for authentication' has moved to a new 'Credentials' panel alongside controls for some of the above new features.
Bug fix: the 32-bit Windows build now runs on Windows XP again.
Bug fix: server-controlled window title setting now works again even if the character set is ISO 8859 (or a few other affected single-byte character sets).
Bug fix: certain forms of OSC escape sequences (sent by some real servers) could cause PuTTY to crash.
Bug fix: the -pwfile/-pw options no longer affect local key passphrase prompts, and no longer suppress Plink's anti-spoofing measures.
Note: installing the 0.78 or later Windows installer will not automatically uninstall 0.77 or earlier, due to a change we've made to work around a bug. We recommend uninstalling the old version first, if possible. If both end up installed, uninstalling both and then re-installing the new version will fix things up.

These features were new in 0.77 (released 2022-05-27):

Major improvements to network proxy support:
Support for interactively prompting the user if the proxy server requires authentication.
Built-in support for proxying via another SSH server, so that PuTTY will SSH to the proxy and then automatically forward a port through it to the destination host. (Similar to running plink -nc as a subprocess, but more convenient to set up, and allows you to answer interactive prompts presented by the proxy.)
Support for HTTP Digest authentication, when talking to HTTP proxies.
Introduced pterm.exe, a PuTTY-like wrapper program for Windows command prompts (or anything else running in a Windows console). Not yet included in the installer, but available as a .exe file from the Download page.
Updated Unicode and bidi support to Unicode 14.0.0.
New command-line option -pwfile, like -pw except that it reads the password from a file so that it doesn't show up on the command line.
Windows Pageant: option --openssh-config to allow easy interoperation with Windows's ssh.exe.
-pw (and -pwfile) now do not fall back to interactively prompting for a password if the provided password fails. (That was the original intention.)
New configuration options for keyboard handling:
Option to control handling of Shift + arrow keys
Extra mode in the function-keys option, for modern xterm (v216 and above).
Bug workaround flag to wait for the server's SSH greeting before sending our own, for servers (or proxies) that lose outgoing data before seeing any incoming data.
Crypto update: added side-channel resistance in probabilistic RSA key generation.
Crypto update: retired the use of short Diffie-Hellman exponents (just in case).
Bug fix: reconfiguring remote port forwardings more than once no longer crashes.
Bug fix: terminal output processing is now paused while handling a remote-controlled terminal resize, so that the subsequent screen redraw is interpreted relative to the new terminal size instead of the old.
Bug fix: Windows PuTTYgen's mouse-based entropy collection now handles high-frequency mice without getting confused.
Bug fix: Windows Pageant can now handle large numbers of concurrent connections without hanging or crashing.
Bug fix: if Windows Pageant is started multiple times simultaneously, the instances should reliably agree on one of them to be the persistent server.
Bug fix: remote-controlled changes of window title are now interpreted according to the configured character set.
Bug fix: remote-controlled changes of window title no longer get confused by UTF-8 characters whose encoding includes the byte 0x9C (which terminates the control sequence in non-UTF-8 contexts).
Bug fix: popping up the window context menu in the middle of a drag-select now no longer leaves the drag in a stuck state.
Bug fix: extensive use of true colour in the terminal no longer slows down window redraws unnecessarily.
Bug fix: when PSCP reports the server sending a disallowed compound pathname, it correctly reports the replacement name it's using for the downloaded file.
Bug fix: enabling X11 forwarding in psusan failed to fall back through possible port numbers for the forwarded X display.
For developers: migrated the build system to CMake, removing the old idiosyncratic mkfiles.pl and the autotools system.

podman: update to 4.4.1

Changelog too long and pertains mostly to Linux.
Importantly this update makes 9pfs volume mounts work on macOS
and we can start to work on getting the QEMU side to support
this on NetBSD.

Note: because 9pfs volume mounts are not yet supported on NetBSD,
I have patched this podman version to have a "none" volume driver
and to initialize the machine with "--volume-driver none" by default
instead of virtfs.

To get volumes on macOS with this package you therefore must pass
"--volume-driver virtfs" explicitly.

Adds Cross Origin Request Sharing headers used by modern browsers
to allow XMLHttpRequest to work across domains. This module will
also help protect against CSRF attacks in some browsers.

This module attempts to fully conform to the CORS spec, while
allowing additional flexibility in the values specified for the of
the headers.

The module also ensures that the response contains a Vary: Origin
header to avoid potential issues with caches.

#BookmarkName2 Bookmark End

Where Bookmark, Start and End are localized words.

Bookmark visualization

Various improvements of bookmark visibility (see Tools ▸ Options ▸ LibreOffice
Writer ▸ Formatting Aids ▸ Bookmarks. (László Németh, NISZ)

Note: this is a continuation to Michael Stahl’s fix for tdf#45589 ("create and
paint text portions for bookmarks"), introduced in LibreOffice 7.0.

  * ⌶-shape point bookmark (The previous shape, a single vertical line was
overlapped with visible page margin at beginning of the paragraphs, also it
was very similar to the NBSP and narrow NBSP shading.) tdf#150791

  * ][-shape (i.e. double) marks for neighboring bookmark ranges (instead of a
single vertical line, which could not be distinguished from point bookmark
    symbol previously). tdf#150790

  * All bookmarks at the same character position are visible now, e.g. instead
of a single |, neighboring bookmarks with point bookmarks are shown e.g. as
    ] ⌶ [ or ] ] ⌶ ⌶ [ [

  * Do not show visible marks for hidden _Toc and _Ref bookmarks imported from
OOXML, like Microsoft Office does. tdf#150956

  * Multiple start marks of range bookmarks positioned before the character
position, multiple end marks of range bookmarks positioned after the
character position, i.e. single type boundary marks are there outside of
    the bookmark text:

some |text| here
    [[    ]]

  * Neighboring end and start marks are centered around the character position:

|text1|text2|
[    ]] [[    ]

  * Marks of the same character position are sorted based on their type: ], ⌶,
    [, e.g.

] ] ⌶ ⌶ [ [ [

    color:

[c1 [c2 [c3 ... c3] c2] c1]

which allows assistive technology to ignore them in exported PDFs. (Michael
Stahl, allotropia) tdf#143311 core commit 31084
  * Hyperlinks, table of content and other indices keep their language, and
with this, their accessibility. tdf#39794 tdf#145104 (fixed in tdf#126657
by Khaled Hosny, follow-up fixes: tdf#152492 and tdf#45949 by László Né
    meth)

Accessibility checker

  * Add several accessibility checker rules. (Paris Oplopoios, Collabora) core
commit b4586 core commit f9eb5 core commit f03d2 core commit 2c44f core
commit de02e core commit 043f0 core commit a1ae3 core commit 76615 core

  * Automatic (Online) Accessibility Check has been added, which scans for
accessibility issues while the user is editing the document. The
accessibility status is shown in the status bar. You can enable it in the
main menu (Tools ▸ Automatic Accessibility Checking). Currently it is only
available when experimental mode is enabled, as it doesn't take all
document objects into account. (Tomaž Vajngerl, Collabora)

Machine translation

  * Initial machine translation is available, backend by DeepL translate (Mert
    Tumer, Collabora) core commit e20d2

Performance

  * Cutting hundreds of pages with numbered lists in Writer tdf#129101 (Noel
    Grandin, Collabora)
  * Export to EPUB in Windows tdf#133768 (Noel Grandin, Collabora)
  * Opening Writer documents with large tables tdf#126788 (Noel Grandin,
    Collabora)

Calc

  * Cell input with leading ' apostrophe in cells that are not formatted as
Text was changed to always strip the first apostrophe and force the
remainder as text content. Previously, the user had to know (or guess)
whether an input could be converted to a numeric type (number, date, ...)
and prefix only that to force text, but not prefix a textual type that
could not be converted, which was confusing and bad UX. The handling is not
changed for cells already formatted as Text, where every input is continued
to be accepted literally as content and a leading apostrophe is not
removed. tdf#149665 (Eike Rathke, Red Hat)

  * Add support for Kamenický and Mazovia encodings. tdf#150877 (Stephan
    Bergmann, Red Hat)

  * Conditional formatting's begins-with/ends-with/contains are now
case-insensitive like the rest of the conditions were. tdf#123990 (Justin
    Luth, Collabora)
  * Preserve tab characters and line-breaks in cell contents. tdf#75702 (Justin
    Luth, Collabora)
  * View ▸ Freeze Cells ▸ Freeze First Column/Row now always works even when
first row or column are not visible. tdf#112641 (Justin Luth, Collabora)

  * Paste Special of cells now remembers last used settings between sessions.
    tdf#69750 (Siddhant Chaudhary)

  * Searching for a term in the Function Wizard now matches the function
descriptions as well as their names. tdf#146781 (Andreas Heinisch)

Default “spell out” number and currency formats

Number format dialog windows of Calc and Writer got default NatNum12 ("spell
out") format codes. tdf#115007 (László Németh, FSF.hu)

  * Spell out numbers and currencies;

  * in 71 locales of 38 languages;

  * based on libnumbertext 1.0.11;

  * NatNum12 title case is fixed for English language: lowercase “and” and
title case “-Five” e.g. in “One U.S. Dollar and Twenty-Five Cents”.

Performance

  * The presenter console supports running as a normal window instead of
fullscreen, with a setting in Tools ▸ Options ▸ Impress ▸ General ▸
Presentation (tdf#33495). This means it can be used in a single monitor
too, sharing the presentation in a video-conferencing tool. (tdf#92717)
    (Daniel Lohmann)

  * The in-presentation pen function can be turned off with Ctrl + A (on top of
the existing toggle Ctrl + P), which should make more presenter devices
    compatible. tdf#149351 (Gabor Kelemen, allotropia)

  * Objects can be drag-and-dropped in the navigator, allowing reordering and
moving them in and out of groups. tdf#145359 (Jim Raykowski)

Table Design

  * Added basic support for modifying table styles, and creating new ones.
Modified styles are saved into documents, and can be shared via templates.
This function can be accessed by right-clicking on a design in the Table
Design Sidebar panel. core commit f23d3, core commit 553cf, core commit
    5d683 (Maxim Monastirsky)

  * Added a new set of default table styles. core commit daab6 (Rafael Lima)

Chart

  * Data tables are now supported in Charts. See blog post for furter details

This largely makes the Contextual Single user interface obsolete, and it
might be removed in future versions. tdf#125040 (Maxim Monastirsky)

  * GTK3 scrollbars now benefit from the "smooth scrolling" feature. Long-press
on a scrollbar or use ⇧ Shift + Click for more precise scrolling. tdf#
    117388 (Caolán McNamara, Red Hat)

  * The Start Center can now filter recent documents by type. tdf#80934 (Heiko
    Tietze, TDF)

Icon theme

  * The Sifr icon set was refreshed to follow GNOME Adwaita’s new rounded
    style. tdf#151071 (Rizal Muttaqin)

Labelling

  * In Calc, the "language" label was changed to the more accurate "locale"
label in the (HTML) Import Options and Text Import dialogs. tdf#138748
    (Pedro Silva, Collabora)

Font Features Dialog

The Font Features dialog (Format ▸ Character ▸ Font ▸ Features...) received
some improvements:

  * Font features that are enabled by default (e.g. Standard Ligatures) can now
    be disabled. tdf#127423 (Khaled Hosny)
  * Stylistic Sets and Character Variants features each is now grouped together
in a separate section, so they stand out from other common font features.
    core commit 3f9a8 (Khaled Hosny)
  * Stylistic Sets and Character Variants features can have user-friendly
labels defined in the font, these are now shown in the dialog instead of
the generic feature names. Additionally, localized versions of these labels
that are provided by the font are also shown when LibreOffice user
interface is in the respective languages. core commit 19787 (Khaled Hosny)

  * Some font features can have multiple alternates, these are now supported
for OpenType fonts as well (previously it was supported for Graphite fonts
only). core commit 9ca3c (Khaled Hosny)

Localization

Improvements to proofing tools and language support

Dictionaries

  * Ukrainian dictionary was updated. tdf#149980 (Aron Budea, Collabora)
  * Added Persian (fa-IR) dictionary commit (Aron Budea, Collabora)
  * Slovenian thesaurus was updated (Martin Srebotnjak, OdprtiTezaver).

Language tags

  * The language list combo-box now accepts input of art-... BCP 47 private-use
language tags like art-x-mylang or art-Latn-x-mylang (with every valid
script subtag for Latn of course). This is an exception to the otherwise
not accepted input of private-use subtags preventing mis-spreading
arbitrary private-use tags, to support language attribution of artificial
constructed languages. tdf#150370 (Eike Rathke, Red Hat)
  * Language list entries can be permanently added by dropping an
auto-correction file acor_*.dat into the shared or user profile's autocorr/
directory with the corresponding well-formed and valid BCP 47 language tag
in its name. The file can be empty (0 bytes length) with no auto-correction
data being present, data can be added and edited as usual in AutoCorrect
Options. For example, autocorr/acor_de-DE-1901.dat will add the de-DE-1901
tag's language entry that will be displayed as
    German (Germany, Traditional German orthography) {de-DE-1901}
If the tag in the file name is not a well-formed BCP 47 language tag or not
valid, it is silently ignored and no language list entry will be added. tdf
    #150371 (Eike Rathke, Red Hat)
  * For information about IETF BCP 47 language tags, see Wikipedia and W3.org

New languages/locales with locale data

Available as default document language and for locale specific formatting.

  * Portuguese (Mozambique) {pt-MZ}. tdf#148792 (Eike Rathke, Red Hat)

Currencies

  * As Croatia joins the Eurozone on the 1^st of January 2023, Croatian kuna
(HRK) conversion to and from euro (EUR) is now supported in the EUROCONVERT
() function, and the new default currency for Croatia is the euro. tdf#
    150011 (Eike Rathke, Red Hat)

Scripting

  * The Macro Selector dialog (Tools ▸ Macros ▸ Run Macro...) now remembers the
last run macro (core commit 792e4 - Rafael Lima).
  * The Basic IDE now has a Zoom Slider that allow users to more easily
increase/decrease the zoom factor applied to the code editing window. It
can also be controlled with Ctrl + Scroll. The font size defined in the
Options dialog (Tools ▸ Options... ▸ LibreOffice ▸ Fonts) is used as the
100% zoom factor (core commit 0d923 - Rafael Lima).

LibreLogo

LibreLogo programming language is more usable for graphics design with the
following improvements (László Németh):

  * Up to 6 times speed increase of LABEL command by temporary layout locking
of font settings. (Note: locking was suggested by Noel Grandin in tdf#
105575, also he made several other performance improvements previously.)
  * Up to 32 times speed increase of drawing by custom layout locking using
SLEEP -1 & SLEEP 0 command pairs. For example, 800 vector shapes drawn by 4
seconds instead of more than 2 minutes (core commit e50f0)
  * LABEL command supports more HTML-like tags for formatting: localized color
names, hundreds of OpenType and Graphite font features, font family, font
size, strikethrough and highlighting. (core commit 43570) Note: bold,
italic and underline formatting have been introduced by LO 7.4 in core
    commit 89c34.
  * Portable SVG export for OpenType/Graphite font features, also for rotated
text with text portions: font features (glyphs and other settings) and
positions of text portions are exported correctly by converting text to
curve, as a workaround for the bugs and incompleteness of the SVG export. (
core commit fe5cc) Test code with a rotated text containing OpenType/
Graphite scientific inferior and red text portion:

PICTURE “test.svg” [
  LEFT 45°
  LABEL “CO<sinf>2</sinf> <red>level</red>”
]

Note: see also #SVG for SVG export which was improved during these LibreLogo
developments.

  * Fix regression of parsing of default commands in core commit 37d86.

The ScriptForge libraries

An extensible and robust collection of macro scripting resources for
LibreOffice to be invoked from user Basic or Python scripts. (Jean-Pierre
Ledure)

The libraries expose a total of 28 services each with a bunch of methods and
properties.

New in LibreOffice 7.5:

  * The (new) Datasheet service, to manage tabular views of database data. A
datasheet may be opened from a Base window or at any moment (without the
Base component being open). Cursor movement and current selection content
may be processed by a user script.

  * The RunCommand() method may receive arguments (see .UNO:Commands wiki page
    ).

  * Error messages provide direct access to the help page of the failing
    method.

  * A new Normalize() method in the FileSystem service.

  * In the Calc service, new uses of the FilterFormula concept to selectively
clear or format cells, rows or columns.

  * Support of 16,384 columns in the Calc service.

  * In the Dialog service, a new SetPageManager() method synchronizes
automatically dropdown lists, next/previous buttons and tab headers while
the user browses through the dialog pages.

  * A new basic.CreateUnoStruct() method for Python scripts.

The whole set of services (except when not relevant) is made available for
Python scripts with identical syntax and behaviour as in Basic.

The English version of the documentation of the ScriptForge libraries (7.5) is
fully integrated in the LibreOffice help pages (https://help.libreoffice.org/
7.5/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/03/lib_ScriptForge.html?DbPAR=BASIC). Their
translation into other languages is underway. (Alain Romedenne, Rafael Lima)

LOK API

Added sending unique window id along with other data to LOK API. core commit
05a77 (Gökay Şatır, Collabora)

Feature Removal / Deprecation

  * In the SDK, the deprecated tools idlc and regmerge (using the legacy type
registry format) have been removed in favor of unoidl-write (using the
incompatible new type registry format internally introduced in
    LibreOffice 4.1). core commit a8485d55
  * Experimental Emoji toolbar button has been removed. Using system Emoji
insertion tools is preferred. tdf#151197 (Khaled Hosny)
  * The following font families are no longer bundled with LibreOffice, Users
using these fonts are advised to install them on their system:
+ EmojiOne Color tdf#144348 (Khaled Hosny)
+ Source Code Pro and Source Serif Pro. tdf#136604 (Khaled Hosny)
+ KasctBook and KacstOffice. tdf#152376 (Khaled Hosny)

Platform Compatibility

Mac

  * LibreOffice 7.5 requires macOS 10.14 or newer to run.

Due to Apple's policy regarding C++ standard library features, the minimum
macOS version requirement will be raised in the future like so:

      o release in Aug 2023 → 10.15 Catalina

API Changes

  * The obsolete UNOIDL method com.sun.star.registry.XSimpleRegistry::mergeKey
has been deprecated (without a replacement), and its implementation now
unconditionally throws a RuntimeException. core commit 25fc5 (Stephan
    Bergmann, Red Hat)
  * Added a new property JobName to the com::sun::star::view::PrintOptions
service to allow specifying a job name which is sent to the printer.

Changelog:
Version 3.8 (2023-01-08)

Move of options out of command /input

Some options of /input command have been moved to other commands (they can
still be used with /input but marked as deprecated and completion has been
removed):

Old command                New command              Default key
/input jump_smart              /buffer jump smart    kbd:[Alt+a]

/input                        /buffer jump          kbd:[Alt+<]
jump_previously_visited_buffer prev_visited

/input                        /buffer jump          kbd:[Alt+>]
jump_next_visited_buffer      next_visited

/input                        /buffer jump          kbd:[Alt+/]
jump_last_buffer_displayed    last_displayed

/input hotlist_clear          /hotlist clear        kbd:[Alt+h], kbd:[Alt+c]

/input hotlist_remove_buffer  /hotlist remove        kbd:[Alt+h], kbd:[Alt+m]

/input hotlist_restore_buffer  /hotlist restore      kbd:[Alt+h], kbd:[Alt+r]

/input hotlist_restore_all    /hotlist restore -all  kbd:[Alt+h], kbd:
                                                      [Alt+Shift+R]

/input set_unread              /allbuf /buffer set    kbd:[Ctrl+s], kbd:
                              unread                [Ctrl+u]

/input                        /buffer set unread    (none)
set_unread_current_buffer

/input switch_active_buffer    /buffer switch        kbd:[Ctrl+x]

/input                        /buffer switch        (none)
switch_active_buffer_previous  -previous

/input zoom_merged_buffer      /buffer zoom          kbd:[Alt+x]

The following default keys can be reset to use the new command:

/key reset meta-a
/key reset meta-<
/key reset meta->
/key reset meta-/
/key reset meta-hmeta-c
/key reset meta-hmeta-m
/key reset meta-hmeta-r
/key reset meta-hmeta-R
/key reset ctrl-Sctrl-U
/key reset ctrl-X
/key reset meta-x

Return code of string comparison functions

The following functions now return arithmetic result of subtracting the last
compared UTF-8 char in string2 from the last compared UTF-8 char in string1:

  * string_charcmp

  * string_charcasecmp

  * string_charcasecmp_range

  * string_strcasecmp

  * string_strcasecmp_range

  * string_strncasecmp

  * string_strncasecmp_range

  * string_strcmp_ignore_chars

In addition, the case conversion has been extended, now in addition to range
A-Z, all chars that have a lower case version are handled.
That means for example the case insensitive comparison of "é" and "É" is 0
(chars are considered equal).

Example with WeeChat 3.8:

int diff = string_strcasecmp ("aaa", "CCC");  /* == -2 */

With older releases:

int diff = string_strcasecmp ("aaa", "CCC");  /* == -1 */

API functions string_tolower and string_toupper

The functions string_tolower and string_toupper now return newly allocated
string instead of doing the change in place.
The returned string must then be freed after use.

Trigger regex command

The trigger regex now starts with a command, which is "s" (regex replace,
default) or "y" (translate chars).

For compatibility, any regex starting with a delimiter different from a letter
will still work.

If you defined some triggers with a regex starting with a letter (used as
delimiter), then you must change them before upgrading WeeChat, otherwise they
’ll be lost after upgrade (with an error when WeeChat tries to load them from
configuration file).

For example this regex is now invalid:

XabcXdefX

And must be replaced by:

sXabcXdefX

For more information on the regex format, see the trigger chapter in the
WeeChat User’s guide.

Remove Python 2 support

The CMake option ENABLE_PYTHON2 and autotools option --enable-python2 have been
removed, and WeeChat can not be compiled with Python 2.x any more.

Callbacks of function config_new_option

The two callbacks "callback_change" and "callback_delete" in scripting API
function config_new_option have been changed: an integer return value was
expected by error, now any return value is ignored (like it has always been in
the C API).

Version 3.7.1 (2022-10-21)

Bug fix and maintenance release.

Version 3.7 (2022-10-09)

Argument "object_id" in callback of upgrade_new

In all script languages (except PHP), the argument "object_id" sent to the
callback of "upgrade_new" is now an integer (it was a string in older
releases).

To be compatible with all versions, it is recommended to convert the argument
to integer before testing it, for example in Python:

if int(object_id) == 1:
    # ...

Argument "remaining_calls" in callback of hook_timer

In all script languages (except PHP), the argument "remaining_calls" sent to
the callback of "hook_timer" is now an integer (it was a string in older
releases).

To be compatible with all versions, it is recommended to convert the argument
to integer before testing it, for example in Python:

if int(remaining_calls) > 0:
    # ...

Delete previous word until whitespace

A new parameter delete_previous_word_whitespace has been added in /input
command to delete previous word until backspace.
This is now bound by default to the key kbd:[Ctrl+w] (see issue #559).

A new key kbd:[Alt+Backspace] has been added to delete word, like kbd:[Ctrl+w]
did in previous releases.

You can get the new behavior for kbd:[Ctrl+w] with this command:

/key bind ctrl-W /input delete_previous_word_whitespace

And add the new key kbd:[Alt+Backspace] with this command:

/key missing

Function string_rebuild_split_string

The API function string_build_with_split_string has been renamed to
string_rebuild_split_string and two new arguments have been added: _index_start
and index_end.

To stay compatible, the existing calls to the function must be done with the
new function name and these values:

  * index_start: 0

  * index_end: -1

Version 3.6 (2022-07-10)

Hook print on empty messages

The "hook_print" callback is now called even when an empty message is displayed
(with or without prefix).

This was a bug, but is mentioned here just in case some scripts callbacks would
be surprised to be called with such empty messages.

Default trigger "beep"

The command of "beep" trigger is now executed only if the buffer notify is NOT
set to none (in addition to existing conditions).

You can restore the default trigger "beep" with the following command:

/trigger restore beep

* Mew now supports Emacs 26.1 or later only.
* Supporting coming Emacs 29.
* Supporting "stunnel" 5.15.
* Supporting native compilation.
* `mew-smtp-port` now supports Unix domain socket.  If it is set to an
absolute pathname such as "/var/run/msp.sock", Mew will use it as a
Unix domain socket which supports SOCK_STREAM and understands SMTP.
The value of `mew-smtp-server` will be ignored.  This feature requires
  `make-network-process` introduced since Emacs 22.
* Some bug fixes.

mkvtoolnix: updated to 74.0.0

Version 74.0.0 "You Oughta Know" 2023-02-12

New features and enhancements

* mkvmerge: SRT handling: added a hack called `--engage
  keep_whitespaces_in_text_subtitles` which disables stripping whitespaces
from the start & end of each line of SRT entries during muxing.

Bug fixes

* all: Windows: UNC paths of type `\\?\C:\…` are supported again by switching
back to Boost's file system library instead of using C++17's file system
  library.
* mkvmerge: AVC/H.264 & HEVC/H.265 packetizers: when appending tracks the
pixel dimensions will be checked & muxing will be aborted if they don't
  match.
* mkvmerge: file type detection: file types that can be detected unambiguously
by their content (e.g. Matroska, MP4, WAV…) will now preferred in the
detection order over file types based on their extension. Prevents certain
cases of mis-detection, e.g. DTS in WAV but with a file name extension of
`.dts` being detected as the wrong type of DTS.
* mkvmerge: SRT handling: whitespaces will now be stripped from the start &
the end of each line of each entry, not just from the end of the last
  line.
* mkvextract: SRT extraction: whitespaces will not be stripped from the start
& end of the whole entry anymore.
* MKVToolNix GUI: multiplexer: when adding multiple files that include certain
file types (chapters, segment info and tag files) and when the choice where
to add them is "all files to a single new tab", these certain file types
will now be added in the newly added tab as well instead of the current tab
  that had already been open.
* build system: fixed compatibility with Ruby 3.2.0 by using `FileTest.exist?`
  instead of `File.exists?`, `Dir.exists?` & `FileTest.exists?` which were
  removed in that release.

Build system changes

* MKVToolNix is now using & requiring Boost's "file system" and "system"
libraries again instead of C++17's file system library. This is due to gcc's
library not supporting UNC paths of types `\\?\C:\dir\file.ext`.

- The Web client has been rewritten and now supports mobile use.
- When creating new torrents, users can now specify the piece size.
- IPv6 blocklists are now supported.
- Beginning with 4.0.0-beta.1, Transmission releases now use semver versioning.
- Dozens of other new features -- too many to list here! We've been working on this for a year!

### Qt Client

(fcambus)

2023-02-12 22:32:58 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

binaryen: update to 112.

v112
----

- Add AbstractTypeRefining pass (#5461)
- Add a mechanism to skip a pass by name (#5448)
- Add TypeMerging pass (#5321)
- Add TypeSSA pass  (#5299)
- Optimization sequences like `-O3 -Os` now do the expected thing and run `-O3`
followed by `-Os`. Previously the last of them set the defaults that were used
by all executions, so `-O3 -Os` was equivalent to `-Os -Os`. (There is no
change to the default optimization level that other passes can see. For
  example, `--precompute-propagate -O2 -O1` will run `--precompute-propagate`
at opt level `1`, as the global default is set to `2` and then overridden to
`1`. The only change is that the passes run by `-O2` will actually run `-O2`
now, while before they'd use the global default which made them do `-O1`.)
- Add `--closed-world` flag. This enables more optimizations in GC mode as it
lets us assume that we can change types inside the module.
- The isorecursive WasmGC type system (i.e. --hybrid) is now the default to
match the spec and the old default equirecursive (i.e. --structural) system
  has been removed.
- `ref.is_func`, `ref.is_data`, and `ref.is_i31` have been removed from the C
and JS APIs and `RefIs` has been replaced with `RefIsNull`.
- Types `Data` and `Dataref` have been replaced with types `Struct` and
`Structref` in the C and JS APIs.
* `BinaryenStringNew` now takes an additional last argument, `try_`, indicating
whether the instruction is one of `string.new_utf8_try` respectively
  `string.new_utf8_array_try`.
* `BinaryenStringEq` now takes an additional second argument, `op`, that is
either `BinaryenStringEqEqual()` if the instruction is `string.eq` or
`BinaryenStringEqCompare()` if the instruction is `string.compare`.

6067. [security] Fix serve-stale crash when recursive clients soft quota
  is reached. (CVE-2022-3924) [GL #3619]

6066. [security] Handle RRSIG lookups when serve-stale is active.
  (CVE-2022-3736) [GL #3622]

6064. [security] An UPDATE message flood could cause named to exhaust all
available memory. This flaw was addressed by adding a
new "update-quota" statement that controls the number of
simultaneous UPDATE messages that can be processed or
forwarded. The default is 100. A stats counter has been
added to record events when the update quota is
exceeded, and the XML and JSON statistics version
numbers have been updated. (CVE-2022-3094) [GL #3523]

6062. [func] The DSCP implementation, which has been
nonfunctional for some time, is now marked as
obsolete and the implementation has been removed.
Configuring DSCP values in named.conf has no
effect, and a warning will be logged that
the feature should no longer be used. [GL #3773]

6061. [bug] Fix unexpected "Prohibited" extended DNS error
  on allow-recursion. [GL #3743]

  6060. [bug] Fix a use-after-free bug in dns_zonemgr_releasezone()
by detaching from the zone manager outside of the write
  lock. [GL #3768]

6059. [bug] In some serve stale scenarios, like when following an
expired CNAME record, named could return SERVFAIL if the
previous request wasn't successful. Consider non-stale
data when in serve-stale mode. [GL #3678]

6058. [bug] Prevent named from crashing when "rndc delzone"
attempts to delete a zone added by a catalog zone.
  [GL #3745]

6051. [bug] Improve thread safety in the dns_dispatch unit.
  [GL #3178] [GL #3636]

6050. [bug] Changes to the RPZ response-policy min-update-interval
and add-soa options now take effect as expected when
  named is reconfigured. [GL #3740]

6049. [bug] Exclude ABD hashtables from the ADB memory
overmem checks and don't clean ADB names
and ADB entries used in the last 10 seconds
  (ADB_CACHE_MINIMUM). [GL #3739]

6048. [bug] Fix a log message error in dns_catz_update_from_db(),
where serials with values of 2^31 or larger were logged
incorrectly as negative numbers. [GL #3742]

6047. [bug] Try the next server instead of trying the same
server again on an outgoing query timeout.
  [GL #3637]

6046. [bug] TLS session resumption might lead to handshake

  pkgsrc/net/samba4: Makefile PLIST distinfo options.mk

  Log Message:
  samba: update to 4.17.4.

This is the latest stable release of the Samba 4.17 release series.
It also contains security changes in order to address the following defects:

o CVE-2022-37966: This is the Samba CVE for the Windows Kerberos
                    RC4-HMAC Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability
disclosed by Microsoft on Nov 8 2022.

A Samba Active Directory DC will issue weak rc4-hmac
session keys for use between modern clients and servers
despite all modern Kerberos implementations supporting
                    the aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96 cipher.

On Samba Active Directory DCs and members
'kerberos encryption types = legacy' would force
rc4-hmac as a client even if the server supports
                    aes128-cts-hmac-sha1-96 and/or aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96.

                    https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CVE-2022-37966.html

o CVE-2022-37967: This is the Samba CVE for the Windows
                    Kerberos Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability
disclosed by Microsoft on Nov 8 2022.

A service account with the special constrained
delegation permission could forge a more powerful
ticket than the one it was presented with.

                    https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CVE-2022-37967.html

o CVE-2022-38023: The "RC4" protection of the NetLogon Secure channel uses the
same algorithms as rc4-hmac cryptography in Kerberos,
and so must also be assumed to be weak.

                    https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CVE-2022-38023.html

Note that there are several important behavior changes
included in this release, which may cause compatibility problems
interacting with system still expecting the former behavior.
Please read the advisories of CVE-2022-37966,
  CVE-2022-37967 and CVE-2022-38023 carefully!

samba-tool got a new 'domain trust modify' subcommand
  -----------------------------------------------------

This allows "msDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes" to be changed
on trustedDomain objects. Even against remote DCs (including Windows)
using the --local-dc-ipaddress= (and other --local-dc-* options).
See 'samba-tool domain trust modify --help' for further details.

zabbix60: Add new packages

Add zabbix60 suite: Zabbix 6.0 LTS.

Zabbix is a software that monitors numerous parameters of a network and the
health and integrity of servers, virtual machines, applications, services,
databases, websites, the cloud and more. Zabbix uses a flexible notification
mechanism that allows users to configure e-mail based alerts for virtually any
event. This allows a fast reaction to server problems. Zabbix offers excellent
reporting and data visualization features based on the stored data. This makes
Zabbix ideal for capacity planning.

wm/cde: import package from wip.

The Common Desktop Environment (CDE) is a desktop environment for Unix
and OpenVMS, based on the Motif widget toolkit. It was part of the UNIX
98 Workstation Product Standard, and was for a long time the Unix
desktop associated with commercial Unix workstations. It helped to
influence early implementations of successor projects such as KDE and
GNOME desktop environment, which largely replaced CDE following the turn
of the century.

After a long history as proprietary software, CDE was released as free
software on August 6, 2012, under the GNU Lesser General Public License,
version 2.0 or later. Since its release as free software, CDE has been
been ported to Linux, illumos and BSD derivatives.

If your applications rely on portability to Windows, see new documentation
sections "argument-passing rules are program-specific" and "batch files".  This
release fixes bugs in runs of Windows programs that use standard command line
parsing rules.  Runs of non-standard programs may require changes.  Notable
non-standard programs include cmd.exe, cscript.exe, and Cygwin programs.
- #140 - skip t/pty.t test on NetBSD too
- Add strict/warnings
- #142 - Follow Windows argument quoting rules
- #146 - allow win32_newlines.t to actually run
- #150 - Make t/pty.t test pass on OpenBSD.
- #148 - Support Win32 commands having nonstandard command line parsing rules
- Support executing Win32 batch files.
- Add IPC::Run::Win32Process, for delivering nonstandard command lines.
- Fix reporting of Win32::Process::Create() errors.
- #156 - On Windows, avoid hang when closing read end of pipe.
- #155 - Ignore known test failure on msys. - t/windows_search_path.t
- Avoid warning with IPCRUNDEBUG, in Windows spawned children.
- Use $^X, not 'perl', in tests.
- Thanks to the New active developer: Noah Misch!

(math/R-vctrs) Updated 0.5.1 to 0.5.2

# vctrs 0.5.2

* New `vec_expand_grid()`, which is a lower level helper that is similar to
  `tidyr::expand_grid()` (#1325).

* New `vec_set_intersect()`, `vec_set_difference()`, `vec_set_union()`, and
`vec_set_symmetric_difference()` which compute set operations like
`intersect()`, `setdiff()`, and `union()`, but the vctrs variants don't strip
attributes and work with data frames (#1755, #1765).

* `vec_identify_runs()` is now faster when used with data frames (#1684).

* The maximum load factor of the internal dictionary was reduced from 77% to
50%, which improves performance of functions like `vec_match()`,
  `vec_set_intersect()`, and `vec_unique()` in some cases (#1760).

* Fixed a bug with the internal `vec_order_radix()` function related to matrix
  columns (#1753).

(math/R-estimability) Updated 1.3 to 1.4.1

(math/R-estimability/work/estimability/inst/NEWS)
Update history for **estimability***

** NOTE: If you have v1.4 installed, please update to a newer version!
**      (Or an older one, for that matter)

1.4.1
Correction to version 1.4. The new svd-based methods worked
    correctly only for n x p matrices with n >= p. Otherwise things
go badly awry. And this is a big problem because I replaced
the default nonest.basis() method with the svd method.

1.4
Added support for results of svd(), via 'nonest.basis.svd' function
and 'default' method. The 'matrix' method now uses the SVD instead
    of the QR decomposition.
