Updated sysutils/open-vm-tools to 10.0.7

(ryoon)

2016-10-09 03:41:56 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 10.0.7

The only following features are tested on NetBSD/amd64 7.99.39 without vmt(4)
on VMware Workstation 12 Player 12.0.5 for Windows or ESXi 6.0u2.

* Hostname and IP address report
* Shutdown and reboot operations from host
* Copy and paste of text string between host and guest
* Guest clock sync

The other features are not tested. For example,

* Drag and drop between host and guest
* VM HA, heartbeat
* HGFS, shared folder

Changelog:
What's New

VMware Tools is a suite of utilities that enhances the performance of the virtual machine's guest operating system and improves management of the virtual machine. Read about the new and enhanced features in this release below:

Common versioning: Infrastructure changes to enable reporting of the true version of open-vm-tools. This feature is dependent on host support.
Quiesced snapshots enhancements for Linux guests running IO workload: Robustness related enhancements in quiesced snapshot operation. The vmtoolsd service supports caching of log messages when guest IO has been quiesced. Enhancements in the vmbackup plugin use a separate thread to quiesce the guest OS to avoid timeout issues due to heavy I/O in the guest.
Shared Folders: For Linux distributions with kernel version 4.0.0 and higher, there is a new FUSE based Shared Folders client which is used as a replacement for the kernel mode client.
ESXi Serviceability: Default vmtoolsd logging is directed to a file instead of syslog. vmware-toolbox-cmd is enhanced for setting vmtoolsd logging levels.
GuestInfo Enhancements: Plugin enhancements to report more than 64 IP addresses from the guest. These enhancements will be available only after upgrading the host because the guest IP addresses limit also exists on the host side.

Internationalization

open-vm-tools 10.0.0 supports the following languages:

    English
    French
    German
    Spanish
    Italian
    Japanese
    Korean
    Simplified Chinese
    Traditional Chinese

Compatibility

open-vm-tools 10.0.0 is compatible with all supported versions of VMware vSphere, VMware Workstation 12.0 and VMware Fusion 8.0.

Updated devel/nss to 3.27.1

(ryoon)

2016-10-08 10:26:12 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 3.27.1

Changelog:
The NSS team has released Network Security Services (NSS) 3.27.1.

This is a patch release to address a TLS compatibility issue
that some applications experienced with NSS 3.27.

Notable Changes:
Availability of the TLS 1.3 (draft) implementation has been re-disabled
in the default build.

Previous versions of NSS made TLS 1.3 (draft) available only when compiled
with NSS_ENABLE_TLS_1_3. NSS 3.27 set this value on by default, allowing
TLS 1.3 (draft) to be disabled using NSS_DISABLE_TLS_1_3, although the
maximum version used by default remained TLS 1.2.

However, some applications query the list of protocol versions that are
supported by the NSS library, and enable all supported TLS protocol versions.
Because NSS 3.27 enabled compilation of TLS 1.3 (draft) by default, it caused
those applications to enable TLS 1.3 (draft). This resulted in connectivity
failures, as some TLS servers are version 1.3 intolerant, and failed to
negotiate an earlier TLS version with NSS 3.27 clients.

Chunk cache TTL can now be configured
Added warning for wrongly configured database transactions, helps prevent "database is locked" issues
Use a capped memory cache to reduce memory usage especially in background jobs and the file scanner
    Allow login by email
Respect CLASS property in calendar events
    Allow addressbook export using VCFExportPlugin
Birthdays are also generated based on shared addressbooks

For developers

New DAV endpoint with a new chunking protocol aiming to solve many issues like timeouts (not used by clients yet)
New webdav property for share permissions
Background repair steps can be specified info.xml
Background jobs (cron) can now be declared in info.xml
Apps can now define repair steps to run at install/uninstall time
Export contact images via sabre dav plugin
Sabre DAV's browser plugin is available in debug mode to allow easier development around webdav

Support for the original qcow2 image encryption has been disabled entirely from the system emulators. While QEMU 2.3 attempted to keep it available in system emulators, a bug in the code has actually broken it since 2.4, and no one complained. Supported for the format remains available only in command line tools qemu-img, qemu-io, qemu-nbd to facilitate data liberation. It is recommended to use 'qemu-img convert' to convert qcow2 encrypted images to uncrypted ones. The new LUKS encryption driver can provide a secure replacement, and a future release may integrate luks into qcow2 natively.
Autoconverge is not considered experimental anymore; autoconverge-related commands do not have the "x-" prefix anymore.
The MIPS64R6-generic CPU model was renamed to I6400.
On Q35 machines, IOMMU are now enabled with "-device iommu" instead of "-machine iommu=on".

Future incompatible changes

Three options are using different names on the command line and in configuration file. In particular:
        The "acpi" configuration file section matches command-line option "acpitable";
        The "boot-opts" configuration file section matches command-line option "boot";
The "smp-opts" configuration file section matches command-line option "smp".

-readconfig will standardize on the name for the command line option.

Behavior of automatic calculation of SMP topology when some SMP topology options for -smp are omitted (sockets, cores, threads) will change in the future. If guest ABI needs to be preserved on upgrades while using the SMP topology options, users should either set set all options explicitly (sockets, cores, threads), or omit all of them.
Devices "allwinner-a10", "pc87312", "ssi-sd" will be configured with explicit properties instead of implicitly. This is unlikely to affect users.
QMP command blockdev-add is still a work in progress. It doesn't support all block drivers, it lacks a matching blockdev-del, and more. It might change incompatibly.

ARM

The "virt" machine type has support for NUMA.
We now implement an emulated GICv3 interrupt controller, which is supported by the "virt" board and can be enabled with "-machine gic-version=3". Note that many guest OSes do not correctly support a GICv3 without security extensions; if your guest is Linux it must include commit 7c9b973061 "irqchip/gic-v3: Configure all interrupts as non-secure Group-1" or a backport of that patch to one of the stable branches. UEFI and FreeBSD are also known to need similar bug fixes. With a GICv3 the "virt" board now supports TCG (emulated CPU) configurations with more than 8 vCPUs.
    New Xilinx Zynq ZCU102 board (-M xlnx-zcu102).
Xilinx Zynq boards have experimental support for ARM Security Extensions.
Xilinx Zynq MP supports DisplayPort (graphics and audio) and DDC (used for EDID info).
    i.MX6?

KVM

Xilinx Zynq boards support KVM on AArch64 hosts.

MIPS

    Support for 10-bit ASIDs
The MIPS64R6-generic CPU model was renamed to I6400.
    Initial GIC support
    Support for IEE 754-2008

PowerPC

    Many TCG fixes.
mac99 machine can now boot MacOS >= 9.1

pSeries

Significant performance improvements for the spapr-llan device.
    Support for CPU hotplug.
Performance improvements for VFIO through dynamic DMA windows.

s390

    Support for runtime instrumentation
The IPL firmware can boot from devices in subchannel sets > 0
Major refactoring and improvements of the s390x-specific PCI code
Optionally, zPCI specific 'uid' and 'fid' attributes may be provided
Guest-acknowledged hotunplug (rather than 'surprise removal' only)
bootindex support for IPL from SCSI devices

SPARC

Fix for sun4m Solaris 9 "Segmentation fault" regression (see bug #1588328)

x86

CPU hot-remove support based on generic device_add/device_del interface
        support arbitrary CPU adding/removal
Limitation: 1st (boot) CPU isn't removable

KVM

Support for LMCE (local MCE) virtualization, which will require Linux 4.8. LMCE can be enabled through "-cpu model, lmce" on all CPUs as long as the kernel supports it.

Device emulation and assignment
ACPI

NVDIMM devices are now described in the ACPI tables and support labels.
new ACPI CPU hotplug MMIO interface since 2.7 machine types for PC/Q35
        more than 255 CPUs support
        CPU hot-remove support
Guest side CPU hotplug status notification via _OST events

Block devices

    Removed dataplane blockers? (Fam)
New -device properties replacing -drive properties?
virtio-blk now supports multiqueue through a "num-queues" device property.

Network devices

New device e1000e for Intel 82574 NIC.
QEMU now includes iPXE ROMs for vmxnet3 devices.

SCSI

scsi-block now passes sense data correctly to the guest, so that it can support for example persistent reservations.
Support for passthrough of SCSI scanner.

PCI/PCIe

On Q35 machines, IOMMU are now enabled with "-device iommu" instead of "-machine iommu=on".

USB

    Support for Xen paravirtualized USB
usb-bot and usb-uas now support hotplug.

VFIO

Support for device assignment of Intel integrated graphics devices.
The SR-IOV capability is now hidden to guests when passing through a physical function.

virtio

    Initial reconnect support for vhost-user.
Support for busy polling on vhost-net devices ("-netdev tap,...,poll-us=n").
    virtio-gpu multi-monitor fixes
    virtio-gpu 2d live migration support

Character devices

QEMU for Windows: Fixed handling of files used for character devices – they are now truncated by default like on Linux.

TLS support

Support for overriding the TLS property, for example "-object tls-creds-x509,...,priority=NORMAL:-VERS-SSL3.0" disables SSL 3.0. This can be used both to use a non-standard weaker set of prioririties, or to enforce a stronger default for QEMU. The default priority can also be specified through "--tls-priority=VALUE" at configure time.

GUI

A new option "-machine graphics=on|off" lets you disable graphics in the VM like "-nographic" (e.g. OpenBIOS will use the serial port for boot messages) but without an implicit "-display none".

Monitor

new 'info hotpluggable-cpus' and corresponding 'query-hotpluggable-cpus' QMP commands
to list present/possible CPUs with properties necessary to add a CPU instance using device_add for a given '-smp ...' layout
supported by x86 and SPAPR softmmu targets

Migration

Autoconverge is not considered experimental anymore. Autoconverge-related commands do not have the "x-" prefix.
    TODO: TLS support

Network

User-mode networking supports DHCPv6, RDNSS, DNS6 and link-local DNS addresses.
Socket networking in TCP mode can now run over IPv6. UDP and multicast modes do not support IPv6 yet.

Block devices and tools

New "bench" command in qemu-img .
The "write" command in qemu-io grew "-f" and "-z -u" options.
    TODO: Block job ids?

TCG

    Speed improvements around 20%.
    Fixes for self-modifying code.

Tracing

    TODO: dfilter
    TODO: tracing for qemu-io, qemu-img and qemu-nbd

CLI options

'-cpu cpu-model,feat1=foo,...' acts as a set of '-global cpu-model-type.feat1=foo' options, which affects initial CPUs as well as all CPUs created with help of -device/device_add/cpu-add for a given cpu-model
doesn't apply to SPARC target which uses legacy -cpu semantics as its features haven't been converted to properties.

Updated multimedia/libvpx to 1.6.0

(ryoon)

2016-08-16 23:53:25 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 1.6.0

Changelog:
2016-07-20 v1.6.0 "Khaki Campbell Duck"
This release improves upon the VP9 encoder and speeds up the encoding and
  decoding processes.

  - Upgrading:
This release is ABI incompatible with 1.5.0 due to a new 'color_range' enum
in vpx_image and some minor changes to the VP8_COMP structure.

The default key frame interval for VP9 has changed from 128 to 9999.

  - Enhancement:
A core focus has been performance for low end Intel processors. SSSE3
instructions such as 'pshufb' have been avoided and instructions have been
reordered to better accommodate the more constrained pipelines.

As a result, devices based on Celeron processors have seen substantial
decoding improvements. From Indian Runner Duck to Javan Whistling Duck,
decoding speed improved between 10 and 30%. Between Javan Whistling Duck
and Khaki Campbell Duck, it improved another 10 to 15%.

While Celeron benefited most, Core-i5 also improved 5% and 10% between the
    respective releases.

Realtime performance for WebRTC for both speed and quality has received a
    lot of attention.

  - Bug Fixes:
A number of fuzzing issues, found variously by Mozilla, Chromium and others,
have been fixed and we strongly recommend updating.

Update to 1.8.102

Changelog:
IANA Data 2016d
JDK 8u102 contains IANA time zone data version 2016d. For more
information, refer to Timezone Data Versions in the JRE Software.

Enhancements

core-libs/java.lang.invoke
Internal package sun.invoke.anon has been removed
The internal package sun.invoke.anon has been removed. The
functionality it used to provide, namely anonymous class loading
with possible constant pool patches, is available via the
Unsafe.defineAnonymousClass() method.

New property jdk.lang.processReaperUseDefaultStackSize
When a large TLS (Thread local storage) size is set for Threads,
the JVM results in a stack overflow exception. The reason for this
behavior is that the reaper thread was created with a low stack
size of 32768k. When a large TLS size is set, it steals space from
the threads stack, which eventually results in a stack overflow.
This is a known glibc bug.  To overcome this issue, we have introduced
a workaround (jdk.lang.processReaperUseDefaultStackSize) in which
the user can set the reaper threads stack size to a default instead
of to 32768. This gives the reaper thread a bigger stack size, so
for a large TLS size, such as 32k, the process will not fail.
Users can set this flag in one of two ways:
1. -Djdk.lang.processReaperUseDefaultStackSize=true
2. System.setProperty("jdk.lang.processReaperUseDefaultStackSize",
"true")
The problem has been observed only when JVM is started from JNI
code in which TLS is declared using "__thread"

Implemented performance improvements for BigInteger.montgomeryMultiply
We have implemented improvements that will improve performance of
several security algorithms, especially when using ciphers with
key lengths of 2048-bit or greater. To turn on these improvements,
use the options -XX:+UseMontgomeryMultiplyIntrinsic and
-XX:+UseMontgomerySquareIntrinsic. This improvement is only for
Linux and Solaris on x86_64 architecture.
See JDK-8130150

Changes
security-libs/javax.crypto
MSCAPI KeyStore can handle same-named certificates
Java SE KeyStore does not allow certificates that have the same
aliases
(http://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/api/java/security/KeyStore.html).
However, on Windows, multiple certificates stored in one keystore
are allowed to have non-unique friendly names. The fix for JDK-6483657
makes it possible to operate on such non-uniquely named certificates
through the Java API by artificially making the visible aliases
unique.

Please note, this fix does not enable creating same-named certificates
with the Java API. It only allows you to deal with same-named
certificates that were added to the keystore by 3rd party tools.

It is still recommended that your design not use multiple certificates
with the same name. In particular, the following sentence will not
be removed from the Java documentation:  "In order to avoid problems,
it is recommended not to use aliases in a KeyStore that only differ
in case."

Modify requirements on Authority Key Identifier extension field
during X509 certificate chain building
The requirement to have the Authority Key Identifier (AKID) and
Subject Key Identifier (SKID) fields matching when building X509
certificate chains has been modified for some cases.
See JDK-8072463

hotspot/gc
Providing more granular levels for GC verification
This enhancement provides a way to specify more granular levels
for the GC verification enabled using the VerifyBeforeGC, VerifyAfterGC,
and VerifyDuringGC diagnostic options. It introduces a new diagnostic
option VerifySubSet with which one can specify the subset of the
memory system that should be verified.

With this new option, one or more sub-systems can be specified in
a comma separated string. Valid memory sub-systems are: threads,
heap, symbol_table, string_table, codecache, dictionary,
classloader_data_graph, metaspace, jni_handles, c-heap, and
codecache_oops.

During the GC verification, only the sub-systems specified using
VerifySubSet get verified:

D:\\tests>java -XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions -XX:+VerifyBeforeGC
-XX:VerifySubSet="threads,c-heap" -Xlog:gc+verify=debug Test
[0.095s][debug ][gc,verify] Threads
[0.099s][debug ][gc,verify] C-heap
[0.105s][info ][gc,verify] Verifying Before GC (0.095s, 0.105s) 10.751ms
[0.120s][debug ][gc,verify] Threads
[0.124s][debug ][gc,verify] C-heap
[0.130s][info ][gc,verify] Verifying Before GC (0.120s, 0.130s) 9.951ms
[0.148s][debug ][gc,verify] Threads
[0.152s][debug ][gc,verify] C-heap

If any invalid memory sub-systems are specified with VerifySubSet,
the Java process exits with the following error message:

D:\\tests>java -XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions -XX:+VerifyBeforeGC
-XX:VerifySubSet="threads,c-heap,hello" -Xlog:gc+verify=debug oom
Error occurred during initialization of VM VerifySubSet: 'hello'
memory sub-system is unknown, please correct it

Removed PICL warning message
In 8u40 and 7u80, a new feature was introduced to use the PICL
library on Solaris to get some system information. If this library
was not found, we printed an error message:

Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM warning: PICL (libpicl.so.1) is missing.
Performance will not be optimal.

This warning was misleading. Not finding the PICL library is a very
minor issue, and the warnings mostly lead to confusion. In this
release, the warning was removed.
See JDK-8144957

core-libs/javax.naming
Improved exception handling for bad LDAP referral replies
The JDK was throwing a NullPointerException when a non-compliant
REFERRAL status result was sent but no referral values were included.
With this change, a NamingException with message value of "Illegal
encoding: referral is empty" will be thrown in such circumstances.
See JDK-8149450 and JDK-8154304

Bug Fixes

The following are some of the notable bug fixes included in this
release:

security-libs/javax.net.ssl
Fix to resolve "Unable to process PreMasterSecret, may be too big"
issue
Recent JDK updates introduced an issue for applications that depend
on having a delayed provider selection mechanism. The issue was
introduced in JDK 8u71, JDK 7u95 and JDK 6u111. The main error seen
corresponded to an exception like the following :

handling exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLProtocolException: Unable to
process PreMasterSecret, may be too big

See JDK-8149017

This release also contains fixes for security vulnerabilities
described in the Oracle Java SE Critical Patch Update Advisory.
For a more complete list of the bug fixes included in this release,
see the JDK 8u102 Bug Fixes page.

Added audio/speech-dispatcher version 0.8.4

(ryoon)

2016-07-20 11:51:58 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Import speech-dispatcher-0.8.4 as audio/speech-dispatcher.

Speech Dispatcher:

Key features:

  * Common interface to different TTS engines
  * Handling concurrent synthesis requests -- requests may come
assynchronously from multiple sources within an application and/or
    from different applications
  * Subsequent serialization, resolution of conflicts and priorities of
    incomming requests
  * Context switching -- state is maintained for each client connection
independently, event for connections from within one application
  * High-level client interfaces for popular programming languages
  * Common sound output handling -- audio playback is handled by Speech
Dispatcher rather than the TTS engine, since most engines have limited
    sound output capabilities

What is a very high level GUI library to graphics, Speech Dispatcher is
to speech synthesis. The application neither needs to talk to the devices
directly nor to handle concurrent access, sound output and other tricky
aspects of the speech subsystem.

Update to 2.7.0

Changelog:
Release Notes for 2.7.0

This release fixes issues found while testing RC1.

For details, see the commit logs.
Known Issues

DevMode always starts in Super Dev Mode, so it窶冱 not as easy to test in production mode. See issue 9004 for workarounds.

Release Notes for 2.7.0 (RC1)
Highlights

Super Dev Mode is now the default. DevMode automatically starts Super Dev Mode and reloading a web page automatically runs the compiler when necessary. (The -nosuperDevMode flag may be used to revert to the old behavior.)

Compiling in Super Dev Mode is much faster after the first compile.

Experimental support for GSS, also known as Closure Stylesheets. (See below.)

Known Issues

gwttar files are incorrect. (Fixed in the next version.)

Deprecations

GWT Designer doesn窶冲 work with 2.7 and is no longer supported. (Source code is available if someone wishes to revive this project.)

IFrameLinker and XSLinker are deprecated because they don窶冲 work in Super Dev Mode. However, we don窶冲 have suitable replacements for all use cases yet. For updates and possible workarounds, see issue 8997.

Compiler changes

In draft mode and Super Dev Mode, all compiler optimizations are turned off for better debugging. For example, null pointers are detected sooner.

JSNI references no longer require fully qualified class names when this wouldn窶冲 be necessary in Java. (For example, imports work.)

We窶况e started implementing JS Interop annotations, which will make it much easier to use GWT with JavaScript libraries. The specification is not final and there are bugs, so production GWT apps and libraries should continue to use JSNI for now. If you wish to experiment, you can enable JS Interop using the -XjsInteropMode flag, which is available for the compiler and Super Dev Mode. (It doesn窶冲 work with old DevMode.)

The experimental -XmethodNameDisplayMode flag adds a displayName property to each JavaScript function containing the name of the Java method. This makes Java method names available in browser debuggers at the expense of code size. (Also available in Super Dev Mode.)

Boxed JavaScript strings (created in JavaScript using new String(...)) are no longer considered equivalent to Java strings. They should be unboxed before being passed to Java.

    Many bugfixes.

Library Changes
JDK emulation

Significant performance improvements in String, ArrayList, HashMap, and Exception.

New emulated classes: Locale, NavigableSet, and NavigableMap.

New emulated methods in Class, String, Exception, RuntimeException, Logger, Arrays, Collections, and Map.Entry.

LinkedList extends Deque and handles incorrect usage better.

Logging and Stack Traces

Better wrapping of exceptions thrown from JavaScript.

GWT apps that inherit the com.google.gwt.logging.Logging module have different default behavior for messages logged using the java.util.logging package. The new default is to log messages at level SEVERE and above to the browser窶冱 console. PopupLogHandler and SystemHandler are no longer enabled by default.

FirebugLogHandler and NullLoggingPopup have been removed. ()

Experimental GSS support

The CssResource.enableGss configuration property turns on GSS support.

When enabled, resource files with a 窶枠ss窶 extension are parsed as a Closure Stylesheet.

When enabled, GSS can be used in a UiBinder file by setting gss="true" on a ui:style tag.

If the CssResource.legacy configuration property is set, .css resources and ui:style tags without gss=true will first be converted to GSS and then parsed as GSS.

UiBinder

The ui:data tag has new attributes: mimeType and doNotEmbed.

GWT-RPC

The rpc.XserializeFinalFields configuration property turns on experimental support for serializing final fields.

LinkedHashSet may be serialized without a serialization policy.

    deRPC is removed.

RequestFactory

Support overridden methods and generics better.

Fix support for @SkipInterfaceValidation on RequestContext methods.

Internationalization

    Upgraded to CLDR 25.

Browser API changes

    Updated support for typed arrays.

    Added History.replaceItem().

Fixed an issue with Window.addWindowScrollHandler on Chrome.

Widgets

The deprecated com.google.gwt.widgets package is removed.

    Various bugfixes and minor improvements.

Developer Tool Changes
Dev Mode

The -nosuperDevMode flag may be used to turn off Super Dev Mode and revert to old Dev Mode. (However, most current browsers no longer support Dev Mode plugins.)

The -modulePathPrefix flag may be used to move DevMode窶冱 output to a subdirectory of the war directory.

Super Dev Mode

Compiling is much faster after the first compile. (Compiling is skipped altogether if no files have changed.)

The first compile no longer happens at startup.

Chrome reloads the page faster while debugging. (Sourcemap file size is reduced.)

The -launcherDir flag may be used to avoid running the GWT compiler before starting Super Dev Mode. When enabled, Super Dev Mode writes stub .nocache.js files that automatically recompile the GWT app before loading it. Therefore the bookmarklets aren窶冲 needed. (This feature is automatically enabled when launched via DevMode.)

The -logLevel flag may be used to adjust how compile errors are reported.

The Dev Mode On bookmarklet dialog shows whether Super Dev Mode is turned on for each module on the page.

Messages logged using java.util.logging at level SEVERE and above are written to the browser console by default.

    Fixed a startup faesting

Better error reporting for compile errors while running tests.

Messages logged using java.util.logging at level SEVERE and above are written to the browser console and test output by default.

-Dgwt.htmlunit.debug may be used to open a JavaScript debugger window when running a test using HtmlUnit.

Removed RunStyleRemoteWeb and the BrowserManager tool.

Removed flags: -standardsMode, -nostandardsMode, -quirksMode. (GWTTestCase tests are always run in an HTML page in standards mode.)

For even more detail, see the Issue Tracker.

Changelog:
2.1.2
Improvements

    Effects
        Noise Reduction defaults changed.

    Interface

We've made several improvements to the spectrogram view of tracks which are particularly valuable for vocal work.

New option 'Spectral Reassignment'. This algorithm deduces a 'finer' spectrogram for vocal work.
            Four new Spectrogram scales.
Improvement to the Pitch (EAC) algorithm  -  cleaner (sharper) display.
Spectrogram Settings are now available per-track.

    Other Changes
Upgraded from wxWidgets 2.8.12 to wxWidgets 3.0.2.
        Restructuring of the Preferences Menu
Restructuring of the Track Dropdown Menu (for the Spectrograms)
The Noise Reduction "Frequency smoothing" default has been increased to 3 to help avoid metallic artifacts. Resetting Preferences or deleting audacity.cfg will set the new default.
(Windows) The location of Audacity's work-in-progress folder has been changed, to avoid problems where certain disk cleaners treated them as deletable temporary files.

Bug Fixes

    Crashes
Crashes on reading .wav files with many channels (CVE-2016-2540) and corrupt .mp2 files (CVE-2016-2541) have been fixed. Thanks to Chris Navarrete from Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs for notifying us of these bugs and associated security risk.

Added audio/suil version 0.8.2

(ryoon)

2016-06-05 00:46:25 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Import suil-0.8.2 as audio/suil.

iSuil is a lightweight C library for loading and wrapping LV2 plugin
UIs.

Suil makes it possible to load a UI of any toolkit in a host using
any other toolkit (assuming the toolkits are both supported by
Suil). Hosts do not need to build against or link to foreign toolkit
libraries to use UIs written with that toolkit; all the necessary
magic is performed by dynamically loaded modules. The API is designed
such that hosts do not need to explicitly support specific toolkits
at all - if Suil supports a particular toolkit, then UIs in that
toolkit will work in all hosts that use Suil automatically.

Added audio/libsoxr version 0.1.2

(ryoon)

2016-06-05 00:43:33 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Import libsoxr-0.1.2 as audio/libsoxr.

The SoX Resampler library 'libsoxr' performs one-dimensional
sample-rate conversion - it may be used, for example, to resample
PCM-encoded audio.

It aims to give fast and high quality results for any constant
(rational or irrational) resampling ratio. Phase-response, preserved
bandwidth, aliasing, and rejection level parameters are all
configurable; alternatively, simple `preset' configurations may be
selected. An experimental, variable-rate resampling mode of operation
is also included.

Updated net/corebird to 1.2.2

(ryoon)

2016-05-29 18:34:44 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Update to 1.2.2

Changelog:
Version 1.2.2 (2016-05-19)
ChangeLog:

- Remove margins from the buttons in the topbar. This caused
  problems with some gtk+ themes.
- gtk+ < 3.20 was more inconsistend with adding style classes
to widgets than I thought, so the pre-3.20 fallback css added
in 1.2.1 caused the icons in the topbar to have the wrong color.

Version 1.2.1 (2016-05-10)
ChangeLog:

  - Fix a11y labelling of several switches in the settings dialog
  - Fix an input window clipping bug in the tweet info page
  - Fix a few cases of overlapping widgets into window borders
  - Remove the "Save as" context menu from inline media. This ha
not been working in a while but the context menu was still there.
  - Rename the .sidebar style class to .topbar. This was used in corebird
before gtk+ used it, but now that the sidebar is at the top, the .sidebar
style from gtk+ themes collides with the horizontal alignment we use,
so use the more fitting '.topbar'.
  - Show a focus outline in the topbar again. We are setting a custom
background color here, so we also need to set a fitting outline color.
  - Fix a coloring but in the topbar, where wildcard selectors in themes
    would overrde our foreground color.
