dbus-python-common: update to 1.2.12.

dbus Python Bindings 1.2.12 (2019-09-12)
========================================

The “spinal bap” release.

Fixes:

• Don't save and restore the exception indicator when called from C code.
  This avoided "returned a result with an error set" errors under some
  circumstances, but also caused a regression for code that relies on
  being able to terminate the program by calling sys.exit() or raising
  SystemExit from a dbus-python method. In particular, this broke one of
  libsecret's unit tests. (Debian #940087; Simon McVittie)

D-Bus Python Bindings 1.2.10 (2019-09-02)
=========================================

The “wingèd horse” release.

dbus-python version control is now hosted on freedesktop.org's Gitlab
installation, and bug reports and feature requests have switched from
Bugzilla bugs (indicated by "fd.o #nnn") to Gitlab issues
("dbus-python#nnn") and merge requests ("dbus-python!nnn"). See README
and CONTRIBUTING.md for more details.

Dependencies:

• dbus 1.8 was already required, but is more strongly required now:
  the workarounds that were used to run continuous integration with dbus
  1.6 on Ubuntu 14.04 'trusty' have been removed. (Note that dbus 1.8
  has already reached end-of-life for security support, and newer dbus
  stable branches are strongly recommended.)

• When using Python 3, version 3.5 or later is strongly recommended.
  Python 3.4 security support ended in March 2019. No specific
  incompatibilities are known, but using dbus-python on Python 3.4 is
  no longer tested or supported.

Enhancements:

• Rewrite CONTRIBUTING.md document, based on Wayland's equivalent
  (Simon McVittie, with thanks to Ander Conselvan de Oliveira,
  Bryce Harrington, Eric Engestrom, Pekka Paalanen and Daniel Stone
  for their contributions to the equivalent file in Wayland)

• A generated ChangeLog file is no longer included in source tarballs.
  Please refer to the git repository at
  https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/dbus/dbus-python for detailed change
  history. (Simon McVittie)

• Improve continuous integration to be run by GitLab in addition to
  Travis-CI (Simon McVittie)

• Add clearer license information using SPDX-License-Identifier
  (Simon McVittie)

• Improve test coverage (Simon McVittie)

Fixes:

• Don't set deprecated tp_print to NULL under Python 3, fixing build
  warnings with Python 3.8 pre-releases (Simon McVittie)

• Include inherited methods and properties when documenting objects,
  which regressed when migrating from epydoc to sphinx
  (Simon McVittie)

• Add missing variant_level member to UnixFd type, for parity with the
  other dbus.types types (dbus-python!3; John Baublitz)

    - Note that this is a potentially incompatible change: unknown
      keyword arguments were previously ignored (!) and are now an error.

• Don't reply to method calls if they have the NO_REPLY_EXPECTED flag
  (fd.o#32529, dbus-python#26; Simon McVittie)

• Silence -Wcast-function-type with gcc 8 (Simon McVittie)

• Fix distcheck with python3.7 by deleting __pycache__ during uninstall
  (Simon McVittie)

• Consistently save and restore the exception indicator when called
  from C code (Simon McVittie)

• Avoid a long-standing race condition in the automated tests
  (Debian #898158; Simon McVittie)

• Fix Qt website URL (Ralf Habacker)

doc: Updated devel/py-mercurial to 5.2

(wiz)

2019-11-13 12:26:40 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

py-mercurial: update to 5.2.

Feature release.

Backwards Compatibility Changes
===============================

* The infinitepush extension is believed to be unused, and will be
deleted at the end of 2020 unless users contact
mercurial-devel@mercurial-scm.org.

* 'hg grep' now searches working copy file contents by default. We
recognize this is a significant change from past behavior, but
surveys of large bodies of users indicated nobody used (and almost
nobody understood) the previous no-flags behavior of 'hg grep'.
The new behavior aligns with the behavior most users expected
(including hg's maintainers), which also happens to be the behavior
of 'git grep'. Given that the old behavior was confusing to the
point of being unusable, we were comfortable changing this behavior.

API Changes ===========

* 'mercurial.hg.update*' and 'mercurial.merge.update' now expect
a value from a set of NAMED_CONSTANTS ('merge.UPDATECHECK_*'
constants) rather than a collection of magic strings. As of now,
the values are the same, but code should be prepared for these
values to change in the future.

* 'mercurial.hg.updatetotally' is now more thorough about checking
its 'updatecheck' keyword argument. Previously invalid values would
have used the configured default updatecheck method, but now will
raise ValueError.

* 'mercurial.bookmarks.bmstore' no longer has a convenience method
for looking up changectx instances from a bookmark name. Use
'repo[repo.bookmarks[name]]' intead of 'repo.bookmarks.changectx(name)'.

Add devel/guile-bytestructures version 1.0.6

guile-bytestructures is a library offering a system imitating the
type system of the C programming language, to be used on bytevectors.
C's type system works on raw memory, and Scheme ones work on
bytevectors which are an abstraction over raw memory in Scheme.
The system elevates types to first-class status.

(ng0)

2019-11-13 10:04:19 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Add shells/guile-gash version 0.1

Gash is a POSIX-compatible shell written in Guile Scheme.  It provides
both the shell interface, as well as a Guile library for parsing shell
scripts.  Gash is designed to bootstrap Bash as part of the Guix
bootstrap process. There are plans to develop Gash into a
general-purpose shell and tool for building interfaces between Scheme
and the shell.

Features of the shell
* Sophisticated enough to be used to build Bash.
* Has a nice colorized prompt.
* Includes all of the POSIX-specified "special" built-ins except for
  `times'.
* Includes about half of the POSIX-specified "regular" built-ins
  (see `gash/built-ins.scm' for details).

Features of the programming interface
* Parses Shell scripts into an AST.
* Provides a rudimentary interface for writing Shell-like Scheme
  scripts.

Necromancer

> Conversion from one object type to another with a bit of black magic.

Necromancer provides independent type conversion component for [TTY]
(https://github.com/piotrmurach/tty) toolkit.

## Motivation

Conversion between Ruby core types frequently comes up in projects but is solved by half-baked solutions. This library aims to provide an independent and extensible API to support a robust and generic way to convert between core Ruby types.

## Features

* Simple and expressive API
* Ability to specify own converters
* Ability to compose conversions out of simpler ones
* Support conversion of custom defined types
* Ability to specify strict conversion mode

devel/ruby-equatable: add package version 0.6.1

Equatable

Allows ruby objects to implement equality comparison and inspection methods.

By including this module, a class indicates that its instances have explicit
general contracts for `hash`, `==` and `eql?` methods.  Specifically `eql?`
contract requires that it implements an equivalence relation.  By default
each instance of the class is equal only to itself.  This is a right
behaviour when you have distinct objects.  However, it is the responsibility
of any class to clearly define their equality.  Failure to do so may prevent
instances to behave as expected when for instance `Array#uniq` is invoked or
when they are used as `Hash` keys.

Security issue: When enabling SASL authentication for binary protocol, enabling UDP mode would allow bypassing SASL. Now refuses to start with both UDP and SASL enabled. Text mode authentication was not vulnerable.

Includes a performance improvement for page rebalancing. Full discussion here: https://github.com/memcached/memcached/pull/524 - in some circumstances, page will be moved between slab classes much faster than before.

redis: updated to 5.0.6

Redis 5.0.6

Upgrade urgency CRITICAL: Only in case of exposed instances to untrusted users.

This Redis release, 5.0.6, is a bugfix and enhancement release. The most
important bugfix is a corruption related to the HyperLogLog. A malformed
HyperLogLog string could cause an invalid access to the memory. At a first
glance the vulnerability appears to be not exploitable but just a DoS. The
way to trigger the issue is complex, we'll not provide any information about
how to do that for the users safety.

Other significant changes in this release:
* New modules APIs merged from Redis unstable to Redis 5.
* Some memory optimization related to objects creation.
* Fixes to flushSlaveOutputBuffer() that make sure that SHUTDOWN will
  transfer pending buffers to replicas.

py-pyparsing: updated to 2.4.5

Version 2.4.5:
- Fixed encoding when setup.py reads README.rst to include the
  project long description when uploading to PyPI. A stray
  unicode space in README.rst prevented the source install on
  systems whose default encoding is not 'utf-8'.

Rust 1.37 doesn't appear to be new enough to build 1.39, Cargo bails on
parsing a lock file, so a number of platforms here will need to be updated.

kcalendarcore: Add version 5.64.0

This library provides access to and handling of calendar data.
It supports the standard formats iCalendar and vCalendar and the
group scheduling standard iTIP.

A calendar contains information like incidences (events, to-dos, journals),
alarms, time zones, and other useful information.  This API provides
access to that calendar information via well known calendar formats
iCalendar (or iCal) and the older vCalendar.

Update rust to version 1.39.0.

Pkgsrc changes:
* Remove patch which no longer applies (but what about RPATH?)
* Adapt a few patches to changed files upstream.

Upstream changes:

Version 1.39.0 (2019-11-07)
===========================

Language
--------
- [You can now create `async` functions and blocks with `async fn`,
  `async move {}`, and `async {}` respectively, and you can now call
  `.await` on async expressions.][63209]
- [You can now use certain attributes on function, closure, and function
  pointer parameters.][64010] These attributes include `cfg`, `cfg_attr`,
  `allow`, `warn`, `deny`, `forbid` as well as inert helper attributes used
  by procedural macro attributes applied to items. e.g.
  ```rust
  fn len(
      #[cfg(windows)] slice: &[u16],
      #[cfg(not(windows))] slice: &[u8],
  ) -> usize {
      slice.len()
  }
  ```
- [You can now take shared references to bind-by-move patterns in the
  `if` guards of `match` arms.][63118] e.g.
  ```rust
  fn main() {
      let array: Box<[u8; 4]> = Box::new([1, 2, 3, 4]);
      match array {
          nums
  //      ---- `nums` is bound by move.
              if nums.iter().sum::<u8>() == 10
  //                ^------ `.iter()` implicitly takes a reference to `nums`.
          => {
              drop(nums);
  //          ----------- Legal as `nums` was bound by move and so we have ownership.
          }
          _ => unreachable!(),
      }
  }
  ```

Compiler
--------
- [Added tier 3\* support for the `i686-unknown-uefi` target.][64334]
- [Added tier 3 support for the `sparc64-unknown-openbsd` target.][63595]
- [rustc will now trim code snippets in diagnostics to fit in your terminal.]
  [63402] **Note** Cargo currently doesn't use this feature. Refer to
  [cargo#7315][cargo/7315] to track this feature's progress.
- [You can now pass `--show-output` argument to test binaries to print the
  output of successful tests.][62600]

\* Refer to Rust's [platform support page][forge-platform-support] for more
information on Rust's tiered platform support.

Libraries
---------
- [`Vec::new` and `String::new` are now `const` functions.][64028]
- [`LinkedList::new` is now a `const` function.][63684]
- [`str::len`, `[T]::len` and `str::as_bytes` are now `const` functions.][63770]
- [The `abs`, `wrapping_abs`, and `overflowing_abs` numeric functions are
  now `const`.][63786]

Stabilized APIs
---------------
- [`Pin::into_inner`]
- [`Instant::checked_duration_since`]
- [`Instant::saturating_duration_since`]

Cargo
-----
- [You can now publish git dependencies if supplied with a `version`.]
  [cargo/7237]
- [The `--all` flag has been renamed to `--workspace`.][cargo/7241] Using
  `--all` is now deprecated.

Misc
----
- [You can now pass `-Clinker` to rustdoc to control the linker used
  for compiling doctests.][63834]

Compatibility Notes
-------------------
- [Code that was previously accepted by the old borrow checker, but rejected by
  the NLL borrow checker is now a hard error in Rust 2018.][63565] This was
  previously a warning, and will also become a hard error in the Rust 2015
  edition in the 1.40.0 release.
- [`rustdoc` now requires `rustc` to be installed and in the same directory to
  run tests.][63827] This should improve performance when running a large
  amount of doctests.
- [The `try!` macro will now issue a deprecation warning.][62672] It is
  recommended to use the `?` operator instead.
- [`asinh(-0.0)` now correctly returns `-0.0`.][63698] Previously this
  returned `0.0`.
