Ruby 3.0.6 Released Posted by usa on 30 Mar 2023

Ruby 3.0.6 has been released.

This release includes security fixes. Please check the topics below for
details.

* CVE-2023-28755: ReDoS vulnerability in URI
* CVE-2023-28756: ReDoS vulnerability in Time

This release also includes some bug fixes.  See the GitHub releases for
further details.

After this release, we end the normal maintenance phase of Ruby 3.0, and
Ruby 3.0 enters the security maintenance phase.  This means that we will no
longer backport any bug fixes to Ruby 3.0 except security fixes.

The term of the security maintenance phase is scheduled for a year.  Ruby
3.0 reaches EOL and its official support ends by the end of the security
maintenance phase.  Therefore, we recommend that you start to plan upgrade
to Ruby 3.1 or 3.2.

Ruby 2.7.8 Released Posted by usa on 30 Mar 2023

Ruby 2.7.8 has been released.

* CVE-2023-28756: ReDoS vulnerability in Time

This release also includes some build problem fixes. See the GitHub releases
for further details.

After this release, Ruby 2.7 reaches EOL.  In other words, this is expected
to be the last release of Ruby 2.7 series.  We will not release Ruby 2.7.9
even if a security vulnerability is found (but could release if a severe
regression is found).  We recommend all Ruby 2.7 users to start migration to
Ruby 3.2, 3.1, or 3.0 immediately.

net/samba4: update to 4.17.7

                  ==============================
                  Release Notes for Samba 4.17.7
                          March 29, 2023
                  ==============================

This is a security release in order to address the following defects:

o CVE-2023-0225: An incomplete access check on dnsHostName allows authenticated
but otherwise unprivileged users to delete this attribute from
                any object in the directory.
                https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CVE-2023-0225.html

o CVE-2023-0922: The Samba AD DC administration tool, when operating against a
remote LDAP server, will by default send new or reset
                passwords over a signed-only connection.
                https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CVE-2023-0922.html

o CVE-2023-0614: The fix in 4.6.16, 4.7.9, 4.8.4 and 4.9.7 for CVE-2018-10919
Confidential attribute disclosure via LDAP filters was
insufficient and an attacker may be able to obtain
confidential BitLocker recovery keys from a Samba AD DC.
Installations with such secrets in their Samba AD should
assume they have been obtained and need replacing.

Note update of textproc/py-textfsm to 1.1.3.

(he)

2023-03-31 22:41:09 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

Add textfsm version 1.1.3.

Python module which implements a template based state machine for
parsing semi-formatted text. Originally developed to allow programmatic
access to information returned from the command line interface
(CLI) of networking devices.

The engine takes two inputs - a template file, and text input (such
as command responses from the CLI of a device) and returns a list
of records that contains the data parsed from the text.

A template file is needed for each uniquely structured text input.
Some examples are provided with the code and users are encouraged
to develop their own.

By developing a pool of template files, scripts can call TextFSM
to parse useful information from a variety of sources. It is also
possible to use different templates on the same data in order to
create different tables (or views).

TextFSM was developed internally at Google and released under the
Apache 2.0 licence for the benefit of the wider community.

doc: Updated emulators/mame to 0.253

(wiz)

2023-03-31 20:39:45 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

mame: update to 0.253.

It窶冱 time for MAME 0.253, but before we start talking about all
the exciting updates, there are a couple of things that will affect
people compiling or packaging MAME. Firstly, libc++ 6 is no longer
supported. You can still compile with clang 6, but you窶冤l need to
use libc++ 7 or later, or GNU libstdc++ 7 or later, for the C++
standard library. Secondly, MAME now requires Lua compiled as C++
to work correctly. This prevents the use of Lua libraries from
Linux distribution package repositories, as they are compiled as
C. (The technical reason for this change is that MAME requires C++
stack frames to be unwound correctly, including destructor calls,
when Lua errors are raised from C++ code. Using Lua compiled as C
will cause resource leaks.)

We窶况e updated to Lua 5.4, which comes with an all-new garbage
collector, giving better performance. This should have minimal
impact on people writing scripts and plugins. Two of the biggest
visible changes are that unpack has been replaced with table.unpack
and the deprecated bitlib has been removed. While we窶决e talking
about Lua, we窶囘 like to draw your attention to the new MAME Goodies
repository, where we窶冤l be adding additional content for use with
MAME. So far, there are two plugins. One of them is sure to be
useful for fans of Konami窶冱 arcade rhythm games. They also serve
as example code for people looking to learn about some of the things
you can do with MAME窶冱 Lua scripting capabilities.

The long-rumoured microcode-based Motorola 68000 CPU core is finally
here! It窶冱 already delivering results, with a number of previously
out-of-reach Atari ST demos now running. We窶况e done some intensive
testing, but there are probably still regressions lurking. Let us
know if one of your favourite 68k-based games flakes out on you.

One of the more interesting systems to be dumped and emulated this
month is Akazukin, a 1983 arcade game where you shoot wolves preying
on a defenceless girl. There窶冱 also a game bearing the rather
generic title Heroes, an early version of Data East窶冱 Mutant Fighter.
We窶况e added a few more electronic toys to play with, including Race
Time from Bandai, Punch Your Lights Out from Tiger, and a trio of
backgammon and chess games from Tryom. If you窶决e in a more serious
mood, the Brother LW-30 and LW-840ic dedicated word processors are
now supported. The Sony NWS-3410 UNIX workstation is now working
(albeit without its frame buffer, so you窶冤l need to use a serial
terminal), as is the ironically named Vector 4 S-100 bus computer
(Vector Graphic never sold a system with vector graphics capabilities).

Building on the work in last month窶冱 release, Hyper Neo Geo 64
games are looking better than ever. Numerous texturing and tilemap
issues have been resolved. Taito F3 video emulation has had several
effects fixed, with Land Maker in particular looking noticeably
better. Switching from video to sound, the KC 85 computer family
now has working audio output, some issues with looping and retriggered
samples on the Apple IIgs have been fixed, and fixes for PC Engine
CD audio playback issues have made some games go from crashing to
playable. More subtly, correcting audio chip clock frequencies has
fixed the pitch of sounds for several systems, including Snow Bros.
2 and Noboranka.

Add py-django-localflavor-3.1:

django-localflavor is a collection of assorted pieces of code that are
useful for particular countries or cultures. These are called the "local
flavor" add-ons and live in the localflavor package.

Inside that package, country- or culture-specific code is organized into
subpackages, named using ISO 3166 country codes.

Most of the localflavor add-ons are localized form components deriving
from the forms framework - for example, a USStateField that knows how to
validate U.S. state abbreviations, and a FISocialSecurityNumber that
knows how to validate Finnish social security numbers.

Remove merged patch.

v1.15.2 - maintenance release Latest

Fixes an incompatibility with AOM v3.6.0.
    A couple of smaller fixes.

v1.15.1 - fix compilation without plugins

build fix only

v1.15.0 - Windows plugins / CLLI, MDCV, PASP boxes

codec plugin system now also works with Windows

support for CLLI (content light level box), MDCV (mastering display colour volume), PASP (pixel aspect) information
ICC profile support in gdk-pixbuf loader
    various fixes

v1.14.2 - maintenance

A function name typo in the C++ wrapper was corrected in v1.14.1, but the old function name should not have been removed from the API
(ColorProfile_nclx::set_color_primaries()). The old name is added to the API again in this release.

This is the only change in this update.

v1.14.1 - maintenance release

This release fixes

various issues is the build system
encoding images smaller than 64x64 with svt-av1
    the 'quality' parameter for svt-av1
a potentially wrong image orientation for PNG inputs
crash on non-null terminated XMP input
HDR RGB to YCbCr conversion coefficients for limited range coefficients

1.14.0 - codec plugins / svt-av1 backend

adds SVT-AV1 encoder as AVIF backend
dynamic plugin interface for installing codecs independently from libheif (currently Unix only)
add XMP header compression (using zlib)
library should now be initialized with heif_init()
heif_convert: extract EXIF and XMP to separate files
heif_enc: add benchmarking function to compare codecs
copy EXIF/XMP between HEIC/AVIF files and JPEG/PNG in all kinds of combinations
remove EXIF orientation tag from input when converting to HEIC/AVIF and generate irot/imir boxes matching the input orientation

Add py-ntc_templates version 1.5.0.

Repository of TextFSM Templates for Network Devices, and Python
wrapper for TextFSM's CliTable.

TextFSM is a project built by Google that takes CLI string output
and passes each line through a series of regular expressions until
it finds a match. The regular expressions use named capture groups
to build a text table out of the significant text. The names of
the capture groups are used as column headers, and the captured
values are stored as rows in the table.

This project provides a large collection of TextFSM Templates (text
parsers) for a variety of Networking Vendors. In addition to the
templates, there is a function that will convert the CLI output
into a CliTable object; the resulting text table is converted into
a list of dictionaries mapping the column headers with each row in
the table.

Add py-yamlordereddictloader version 0.4.0.

This module provide a loader and a dumper for PyYAML allowing to
keep items order when loading a file (by putting them in OrderedDict
objects) and to manage OrderedDict objects when dumping to a file.

This is apparently subsumed by

devel/p5-Devel-MAT: import p5-Devel-MAT-0.51

The Devel::MAT ecosystem allows developers of perl programs to
inspect and analyse memory-related problems such as memory leaks,
unexpected memory consumption, or odd state. This is an "offline"
analysis system, in the sense that the analysis tools all run in
a different process, possibly at a later time, than the perl process
that is being analysed.

devel/p5-Devel-MAT-Dumper: import p5-Devel-MAT-Dumper-0.47

This module provides the memory-dumping function that creates a
heap dump file which can later be read by Devel::MAT::Dumpfile. It
provides a single function which is not exported, which writes a
file to the given path.

The dump file will contain a representation of every SV in Perl's
arena, providing information about pointers between them, as well
as other information about the state of the process at the time it
was created. It contains a snapshot of the process at that moment
in time, which can later be loaded and analysed by various tools
using Devel::MAT::Dumpfile.

devel/p5-Commandable: import p5-Commandable-0.09

This distribution contains a collection of utilities extracted from
various commandline-based programs, in the hope of trying to find
a standard base to build these from in future.

Note that "commandline" does not necessarily mean "plain-text
running in a terminal"; simply that the mode of operation is that
the user types a textual representation of some action, and the
program parses this text in order to perform it. This could equally
apply to a command input text area in a GUI program.

devel/p5-Feature-Compat-Try: import p5-Feature-Compat-Try-0.05

his module makes syntax support for try/catch control flow easily
available.

Perl added such syntax at version 5.34.0, and extended it to support
optional finally blocks at 5.35.9, which is enabled by

  use feature 'try';

On that version of perl or later, this module simply enables the
core feature equivalent to using it directly. On such perls, this
module will install with no non-core dependencies, and requires no
C compiler.

devel/p5-Syntax-Keyword-Match: import p5-Syntax-Keyword-Match-0.10

This module provides a syntax plugin that implements a control-flow
block called match/case, which executes at most one of a choice of
different blocks depending on the value of its controlling expression.

This is similar to C's switch/case syntax (copied into many other
languages), or syntax provided by Switch::Plain.

modules that provide new perl-visible syntax, primarily for authors
of keyword plugins using the PL_keyword_plugin hook mechanism. It
is unlikely to be of much use to anyone else; and highly unlikely
to be any use when writing perl code using these. Unless you are
writing a keyword plugin using XS, this module is not for you.

This subclass of Convert::Color::RGB8 provides lookup of the colors
that xterm uses by default. Note that the module is not intelligent
enough to actually parse the XTerm configuration on a machine, nor
to query a running terminal for its actual colors. It simply
implements the colors that are present as defaults in the XTerm

devel/p5-String-Tagged: import p5-String-Tagged-0.20

This module implements an object class, instances of which store
a (mutable) string buffer that supports tags. A tag is a name/value
pair that applies to some extent of the underlying string.

The types of tag names ought to be strings, or at least values that
are well-behaved as strings, as the names will often be used as
the keys in hashes or applied to the eq operator.

The types of tag values are not restricted - any scalar will do.
This could be a simple integer or string, ARRAY or HASH reference,
or even a CODE reference containing an event handler of some kind.

modular-xorg-xwayland: update to 23.1.1.

Un-BROKEN this package by switching to the new, separate distfile
and making it compile.

The patches are just compile fixes and wrong (for NetBSD), so input
handling will most probably not work nor will RPC authentication.

However, this might build on Linux again, and so is still better
than a BROKEN package.

stylua: update to version 0.17.0

ChangeLog:

0.17.0 - 2023-03-11
Added

Added support for "sort requires", which sorts top-level statements of the form local NAME = require(EXPR) lexicographically on NAME. We do this by treating a group of consecutive requires as a "block", and then sorting only within the block. Any other statement, or an empty line, between require statements will split the group into two separate blocks (and can be used to separate the sorting). A block of requires will not move around the file. Roblox Luau statements of the form local NAME = game:GetService(EXPR) will also be sorted separately.

This feature is disabled by default. To enable it, add the following to your stylua.toml:

[sort_requires]
enabled = true

Note: we assume that all requires are pure with no side effects. It is not recommended to use this feature if the ordering of your requires matter.

Added support for EditorConfig, which is taken into account only if no stylua.toml was found.

This feature is enabled by default, it can be disabled using --no-editorconfig.

Published StyLua to the Docker Hub

0.16.1 - 2023-02-10
Fixed

Fixed mistransformation of a function argument in a multilined function call when the argument contains a comment, causing a syntax error. We now attempt to hang the expression (#648)
Fixed verify AST flagging a false positive for parentheses removed around a Luau type (#643)

0.16.0 - 2023-01-15
Added

Unnecessary parentheses around Luau types will now be removed (#611)
Collapse a body containing only a goto statement when collapse_simple_statement is set (#618)

Changed

    Update internal parser:
(lua52) Support Lua 5.2 fractional hexidecimal / hexidecimal with exponents (#621)
        (lua52) Support LuaJIT number suffixes LL/ULL/i (#621)
(lua52) Support \z escape sequences in strings (#613)
(luau) Support Luau string interpolation (#607)
Several optimisations applied to formatting functions to reduce time taken. Files which previously did not terminate (6MB+) now finish in reasonable time. (#591)
Assignments of the form local name = function will no longer hang at the equals token, and instead force parameters multiline, to reduce unnecessary indentation. (#595)

Fixed

Fixed an anonymous function assignment local x = function() being unnecessarily indented if the function body contains a comment (#627)
Fixed malformed formatting when there is a newline between a return token and the expressions (#605)
Fixed malformed formatting of multi-assignment or multi-returns where there is a comment within the expressions list (#637)

credentials on disk, and they never expire, but they're encrypted with
the same system that stores HTTPS certificates and Safari auto-fills.

To use with all your repos:

Add libertinus-ttf-7.040

The Libertinus Fonts project includes four main type families:

- The Libertinus Serif family:

6 serif typefaces cover three weights (Regular, Semibold, Bold) in each
of two styles (Regular, Italic); originally forked from Linux
  Libertine.

- The Libertinus Sans family:

3 sans-serif typefaces cover Regular, a Bold weight, and an Italic
style; originally forked from Linux Biolinum.

- The Libertinus Mono family:

1 monospace typeface derived from the serif family; originally forked
  from Linux Libertine Mono.

- The Libertinus Math family:

1 OpenType math typeface derived from the serif family with many extra
glyphs and features for use in OpenType math-capable applications (such
as LuaTeX, XeTeX, or MS Word 2007+).

Additionally included are 3 special-use families with a single typeface
each:

- Libertinus Serif Display: A derivative of Libertinus Serif Regular
optimized for display at large sizes.

- Libertinus Serif Initials: A derivative of Libertinus Serif with
outlined variants of capital letter glyphs suitable for drop-caps or
  other decorations.

- Libertinus Keyboard: A derivative of Libertinus Sans with keyboard key

Add lua-check-0.23.0

Luacheck is a static analyzer and a linter for Lua. Luacheck detects
various issues such as usage of undefined global variables, unused
variables and values, accessing uninitialized variables, unreachable code
and more. Most aspects of checking are configurable: there are options
for defining custom project-related globals, for selecting set of
standard globals (version of Lua standard library), for filtering
warnings by type and name of related variable, etc. The options can be
used on the command line, put into a config or directly into checked
files as Lua comments.

Luacheck supports checking Lua files using syntax of Lua 5.1, Lua 5.2,
Lua 5.3 and LuaJIT. Luacheck itself is written in Lua and runs on all of
mentioned Lua versions.

x11/x3270: update to version 4.2ga9.

Known issues

Resizing or maximizing the wc3270 window makes bad things happen.
Please do not do this.

Improvements
4.2ga9

Modified the ./configure script to be able to find the macOS
installations of OpenSSL from Homebrew and MacPorts.

4.2ga8

Added the reshort option to the wc3270 Session Wizard to re-create
all desktop shortcuts. This makes deploying the fix for FAQ Why is the
wc3270 window messed up on Windows 11? simpler.

Bug fixes
4.2ga9

x3270 mouse selections are much more predictable. Double- and
triple-clicks no longer move the cursor.
x3270 no longer crashes when it is reconfigured (model, font, etc.)
while the floating pop-up keypad is visible.
The security indicator in x3270 no longer disappears when it is
indicating unverified state and the window is reconfigured.
The ./configure option to give an alternate location for the OpenSSL
library (--with-openssl=) works correctly again. (Thanks to Sam Mearns
for the bug report.)

4.2ga8

When pasting in NVT mode and the text wraps to the next line, the
cursor no longer ends up in the wrong location.
Extended the source tarball generation script mktar.sh to expand
submodules, so the Expat library builds properly for Windows.
Modified the Session Wizard so that wc3270 doesn't end up running
inside Windows Terminal. (See the FAQ Why is the wc3270 window messed up
on Windows 11? for details.)
The x3270a script no longer causes a spurious Invalid (empty)
hostname error pop-up when the display's DPI is other than 96. (Bug
report by Devonian Teuchter is here.)

4.2ga7

The wc3270 Session Wizard no longer exits silently when it
encounters an error.
x3270 will no longer change fonts unnecessarily when the host code
page is changed. (bug report)
The background color is now propagated correctly by the RA order.
(courtesy of Sven Schnelle)
In a resource file, a resource value can now end with a
properly-quoted backslash, without the backslash being interpreted as a
line continuation.
The Transfer() action, when invoked from within a file read by the
Source() action, now blocks properly -- it returns once the file
transfer is complete.
If the Source() action is aborted, it will no longer leave the
keyboard locked.
Typeahead is now processed correctly when the host has negotiated
TN3270E Contention Resolution and the unlockDelay resource is set to
false. (bug report)

          command
- Code cleanup (unneeded functions, initializations, added
comments to unobvious code, obsolete stuff in Makefile)
- signedness cleanup about directory entries
