doc: Updated net/tor to 0.4.6.7

(wiz)

2021-08-17 08:13:44 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

tor: update to 0.4.6.7.

Changes in version 0.4.6.7 - 2021-08-16
  This version fixes several bugs from earlier versions of Tor,
  including one that could lead to a denial-of-service attack. Everyone
  running an earlier version, whether as a client, a relay, or an onion
  service, should upgrade to Tor 0.3.5.16, 0.4.5.10, or 0.4.6.7.

  o Major bugfixes (cryptography, security):
    - Resolve an assertion failure caused by a behavior mismatch between
      our batch-signature verification code and our single-signature
      verification code. This assertion failure could be triggered
      remotely, leading to a denial of service attack. We fix this issue
      by disabling batch verification. Fixes bug 40078; bugfix on
      0.2.6.1-alpha. This issue is also tracked as TROVE-2021-007 and
      CVE-2021-38385. Found by Henry de Valence.

  o Minor feature (fallbackdir):
    - Regenerate fallback directories list. Close ticket 40447.

  o Minor features (geoip data):
    - Update the geoip files to match the IPFire Location Database, as
      retrieved on 2021/08/12.

  o Minor bugfix (crypto):
    - Disable the unused batch verification feature of ed25519-donna.
      Fixes bug 40078; bugfix on 0.2.6.1-alpha. Found by Henry
      de Valence.

  o Minor bugfixes (onion service):
    - Send back the extended SOCKS error 0xF6 (Onion Service Invalid
      Address) for a v2 onion address. Fixes bug 40421; bugfix
      on 0.4.6.2-alpha.

  o Minor bugfixes (relay):
    - Reduce the compression level for data streaming from HIGH to LOW
      in order to reduce CPU load on the directory relays. Fixes bug
      40301; bugfix on 0.3.5.1-alpha.

  o Minor bugfixes (timekeeping):
    - Calculate the time of day correctly on systems where the time_t
      type includes leap seconds. (This is not the case on most
      operating systems, but on those where it occurs, our tor_timegm
      function did not correctly invert the system's gmtime function,
      which could result in assertion failures when calculating voting
      schedules.) Fixes bug 40383; bugfix on 0.2.0.3-alpha.

  librsvg: update to 2.50.7

  This includes a crate dependency update due to a security issue,
  RUSTSEC-2020-0146.

  ==============
  Version 2.50.7
  ==============

  Two cairo-related bug fixes:

  - #745 - Fix mismatched cairo_save/restore when running in inside the Cairo test suite.
  - #746 - Possible cairo_save() without cairo_restore() in render_layer().

  ==============
  Version 2.50.6
  ==============

  This release fixes an important bug about text spacing.  The bug fix
  requires an update to at least Pango 1.44.  Sorry for the increased
  requirements!

  - Librsvg now requires at least Pango 1.44.

  - #730 - Incorrect text spacing when the transform is not 1:1.  You
    can see this when a small font-size is scaled up due to a
    transform.  It is less visible for a large font-size scaled down.

  - #704 - Fix circle/ellipse in paths when they are made out of a
    single Arc command.

  ==============
  Version 2.50.5
  ==============

  - #699 - Images embedded as data: URLs didn't render if they had a
    MIME type with a charset parameter.

  - #691 - Don't allow number lists with unbounded lengths in
    tableValues attributes, for feComponentTransfer and
    feConvolveMatrix (Madds H).

  - #718 - Negative rx/ry in rect element should be ignored.

  ==============
  Version 2.50.4
  ==============

  Update dependent crates that had security vulnerabilities:

    generic-array to 0.13.3 - RUSTSEC-2020-0146

  - #686 - Reduced stack usage (Sebastian Dr旦ge).

  - #698 - Add limit for too-large radiuses on the feMorphology filter (Madds H).

  - #703 - Properly ignore elements in an error state inside the "switch" element.

doc: Updated ham/xnec2c to 4.1.5

(mef)

2021-08-16 13:43:49 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

(ham/xnec2c) Updated 3.5.1 to 4.1.5

(doc/xnec2.html)

Version 3.6-beta: I migrated Xnec2c to the latest GTK+-3.22 toolkit to bring it
up to date. A lot of changes were needed to both the GUI and parts of the
Xnec2c source code, mainly the use of GTK3's GUI Builder for creating the User
Interface and the revised drawing model of GDK for presenting the Graphics
displays. A new autogen.sh script has also been incorporated in the source
package and internationalization has been migrated to the GNU GetText system.
Because Xnec2c is very complicated and thorough testing is difficult, I am
releasing this version as a beta.

Version 3.6.1-beta: After a request by Don Walters W9DKI I modified the
xnec2c.glade file to reduce the default size of the drawing areas as they would
not fit in displays with reduced resolution. I also removed some legacy code,
left over from the migration of xnec2c to GTK3, which was producing error
messages from GTK3 during the dragging of structure or radiation pattern
displays. And I modified the Makefile.am file to get "make install" to install
program files and documentation to the right places.

Version 3.7-beta: After some feature requests by users of xnec2c, I implemented
a number of changes to xnec2c so that it can save the state of the GUI at exit
and restore it on start up. To this effect xnec2c now produces a configuration
file xnec2c.config in the user's ~/.config directory. In this file xnec2c saves
the state (position, size, active toggle buttons, projection parameters for
structure and radiation pattern displays, the state of the frequency loop etc)
of the main windows, e.g. structure, radiation pattern, frequency plots and
NEC2 editor.
I have also added keyboard accelerators for a number of buttons and menu items,
more commonly used in the main windows of xnec2c, and a new "Zo" NEC2 "card" to
specify transmission line impedance.

Version 3.7.1-beta: Fixed a reported bug that prevented wire diameter entries
less than 0.01 in the Helix (GH) card editor. This was due to specifying a
minimum value of 0.01 in the xnec2c.glade file.

Version 3.8-beta: I edited some of the code so that when a NEC2 file is saved,
the Center x and y offsets (the change of position) of the structure and
radiation pattern are not changed. I also arranged for the offset values to be
saved in ~/.config/xnec2c.config when closing xnec2c, and to be read back and
restored when starting.

Version 3.9-beta: I have arranged for some user actions to be "nested", mainly
regarding the saving of NEC2 editor data followed by the opening of another
file or starting a new project. Some such functionality already existed in
previous versions but it is now more comprehensive.
Another useful change is fixing a bug in the original NEC2 code for producing a
helix (as specified by the GH "card"). This bug resulted a division by zero if
the helix length was specified as zero, possibly intended to produce a spiral.
The GH card can now be used to produce both a helix or a spiral with no
floating point exceptions.

Version 3.9: Since I have not received any bug reports for some time after
releasing version 3.9-b, and having fixed a bug that resulted in a
gtk_widget_destroy() command to be passed on an invalid widget pointer, I am
releasing xnec2c as version 3.9.

Version 4.0: I have changed the code that saves the state of the
View-Polarization menu items, as it would only correctly save the state of
these items in the Main (structure) window. I also changed the code that
handles the removal of "card" entries in the NEC2 editor, as it was causing
crashes of xnec2c under some user action combinations.

Version 4.0: I corrected some mistakes in the GUI interface code, which handles
the creation of windows and dialogs from the glade UI description file. These
mistakes were such that they did not effect the operation of xnec2c but in any
case I fixed them for the sake of correct programming. Also changed the wire
designer dialog to include the Tapered Wire selection check-button in the
dialog's frame and the relevant code to deal with this better.

Version 4.1: I corrected some mistakes in the GUI interface code, which handles
the creation of windows and dialogs from the glade UI description file. These
mistakes were such that they did not effect the operation of xnec2c but in any
case I fixed them for the sake of correct programming. Also changed the wire
designer dialog to include the Tapered Wire selection check-button in the
dialog's frame and the relevant code to deal with this better.

Version 4.1.1: I made a small change to the Radiation Pattern code to allow the
drawing of both horizontal an vertical "cuts" in the radiation pattern, in the
zx and zy vertical planes and the xy horizontal plane. Also changed the
accelerator keys for the Add, Remove, Clear, Save As, Save and Revert buttons
to be Modified by the Control button as the original accelerator keys were
being activated when writing in the Comments Treeview.

Version 4.1.2: Changed the installation commands in Makefile.am so that all the
relevant files (desktop file, application pixmap, configuration file,
executable binary etc) are installed under any location specified to the
configure script by the --prefix= option. Also modified the program so that on
first start up after installation, the application will create its working
directory by copying files from the relevant directories under the installation
prefix.

Version 4.1.3: Arranged the pipe reading function for the parent process to
re-read from the child processes if not all data is transferred at the first
read(). In this case xnec2c was crushing with "Resource temporarily
unavailable" error message.

Version 4.1.4: Added the stdint.h include file to common.h to fix a compilation
error reported by Nick G3VNC.

Version 4.1.5: After an inquiry by Eric Wheeler KJ7LNW regarding the use of the
GH card to create spirals, I found a bug that caused the GH editor to delete
the GH entry in NEC2 Editor's treeview. I also found a bug that caused the
number of turns of a spiral to be rounded to the nearest integer. Both bugs
have been fixed in this version.

grep: update to 3.7.

** Changes in behavior

  Use of the --unix-byte-offsets (-u) option now evokes a warning.
  Since 3.1, this Windows-only option has had no effect.

** Bug fixes

  Preprocessing N patterns would take at least O(N^2) time when too many
  patterns hashed to too few buckets. This now takes seconds, not days:
  : | grep -Ff <(seq 6400000 | tr 0-9 A-J)
  [Bug#44754 introduced in grep 3.5]

* Noteworthy changes in release 3.6 (2020-11-08) [stable]

** Changes in behavior

  The GREP_OPTIONS environment variable no longer affects grep's behavior.
  The variable was declared obsolescent in grep 2.21 (2014), and since
  then any use had caused grep to issue a diagnostic.

** Bug fixes

  grep's DFA matcher performed an invalid regex transformation
  that would convert an ERE like a+a+a+ to a+a+, which would make
  grep a+a+a+ mistakenly match "aa".
  [Bug#44351 introduced in grep 3.2]

  grep -P now reports the troublesome input filename upon PCRE execution
  failure.  Before, searching many files for something rare might fail with
  just "exceeded PCRE's backtracking limit".  Now, it also reports which file
  triggered the failure.

doc: Updated graphics/openexr to 3.1.1

(wiz)

2021-08-15 14:15:03 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

openexr: update to 3.1.1.

## Version 3.1.1 (August 2, 2021)

Patch release that fixes build failures on various systems, introduces
CMake ``CMAKE_CROSSCOMPILING_EMULATOR`` support, and fixes a few other
minor issues.

## Version 3.1.0 (July 22, 2021)

The 3.1 release of OpenEXR introduces a new library, OpenEXRCore,
which is the result of a significant re-thinking of how OpenEXR
manages file I/O and provides access to image data. It begins to
address long-standing scalability issues with multithreaded image
reading and writing.

The OpenEXRCore library provides thread-safe, non-blocking access to
files, which was not possible with the current API, where the
framebuffer management is separate from read requests. It is written
entirely in C and provides a new C-language API alongside the existing
C++ API. This new low-level API allows applications to do custom
unpacking of EXR data, such as on the GPU, while still benefiting from
efficient I/O, file validation, and other semantics. It provides
efficient direct access to EXR files in texturing applications. This C
library also introduces an easier path to implementing OpenEXR
bindings in other languages, such as Rust.

The 3.1 release represents a technology preview for upcoming
releases. The initial release is incremental; the existing API and
underlying behavior has not changed. The new API is available now for
performance validation testing, and then in future OpenEXR releases,
the C++ API will migrate to use the new core in stages.  It is not the
intention to entirely deprecate the C++ API, nor must all applications
re-implement EXR I/O in terms of the C library. The C API does not,
and will not, provide the rich set of utility classes that exist in
the C++ layer. The 3.1 release of the OpenEXRCore library simply
offers new functionality for specialty applications seeking the
highest possible performance. In the future, the ABI will evolve, but
the API will remain consistent, or only have additions.

imath: update to 3.1.2.

## Version 3.1.2 (July 31, 2021)

Patch release that fixes a Windows header issue.

* Improve handling of ``#include <*intrin.h>``

## Version 3.1.1 (July 20, 2021)

Patch release that fixes a build failure on ARM64 macOS

## Version 3.1.0 (July 13, 2021)

Minor release with new features:

* Optimized half-to-float and float-to-half conversion, using F16C SSE
  instruction set if available. Non-SSE conversion eliminates the
  float-to-half exponent lookup table, and half-to-float conversion
  provides a compile-time-optional bit shifting that is slower but
  eliminates the need for the lookup table, for applications where
  memory is limited.

  Half-to-float and float-to-half conversion is also available as
  C-language functions ``imath_half_to_float()`` and
  ``imath_float_to_half()``.

  All new conversions produced identical results, and new options are
  off by default to ensure backwards compatibility. See
  https://imath.readthedocs.io for more info.

* NOEXCEPT specifier can be eliminated at compile-time via the
  ``IMATH_USE_NOEXCEPT`` CMake option.

* Python bindings:
  * FixedArray objects support a "read only" state.
  * FixedArray objects support python buffer protocol.

* Optimized 4x4 matrix multiplication.

mk/install: fix documentation and speed up install-dirs-from-PLIST

The documentation did not mention that conditional entries in PLIST
files are skipped.  Pkglint doesn't know this either and issues wrong
notes that some directories are redundant in INSTALLATION_DIRS when in
reality they need to be listed there.

While here, filter out some duplicate directories.  This invokes the
command for creating a single directory less often.  Since PLIST files
are usually sorted, files in the same directory tend to be listed near
each other.

The fallback to the plain 'uniq' is needed for SCO_SV, which does not
define TOOLS_PLATFORM.uniq.

  Added:

    * RGBFIX now supports the homebrew TPP1 mapper! (The emulators BGB 1.5.9
      and SameBoy 0.14.3 do too)
    * New \<10> and \<num_sym> macro arg syntaxes
    * SIZEOF("section") and STARTOF("section")
    * CHARLEN and CHARSUB for working with charmap output units
    * OPT L, OPT W, and OPT h
    * REDEF EQU
    * Linker scripts can use character escapes in section names ("\n \r \t
      \" \\")
    * RGBFIX now reports when it's overwriting non-zero header bytes,
      helpful for spotting mistakes (thanks @GreenAndEievui!)
    * rgbfix -m help will list the accepted MBC names
    * rgbfix -m accepts $-prefixed hex literals

  Changed:

    * Parentheses in macro args implicitly escape commas now, like C. For
      example, macro STRCAT("foo", "bar") used to be 2 arguments, now it's
      only one!
    * STRSUB and CHARSUB allow negative start positions, relative to the end
      of the string
    * STRSUB's second parameter can be omitted to read until the end of the
      string
    * A lot more errors are non-fatal now
    * Any constant expression equal for $FF00 can be substituted to $ff00 in
      ld [$ff00 + c], a and ld a, [$ff00 + c]; and arbitrary whitespace,
      line continuations, and block comments are allowed

  Removed:

    * LOAD FRAGMENT had buggy behavior, and its use cases can be done
      differently

  Fixed:

    * Symbols in some SECTION UNION/FRAGMENT could be missing from the .sym
      file
    * Interpolations could recurse infinitely outside of strings
    * ld hl, sp - <expr> was broken in 0.5.0 (workaround: ld hl, sp +
      -<expr>)
    * $ff00 + constant (or any symbol name starting with "c") would cause a
      syntax error since 0.4.2 (workarounds: ($ff00) + constant, constant +
      $ff00, or $ff00 + /**/ constant)
    * Fixed a lexer bug that could crash RGBASM on "piped" input files
    * jr could be incorrect within SECTION FRAGMENT
    * PUSHS didn't reset the section scope correctly (regression), and
      didn't save the LOAD state
    * REDEF EQUS had a few bugs
    * RGBFIX incorrectly parsed options on some platforms
    * RGBLINK should no longer leak memory
    * Fixed some compiler warnings, notably on 32-bit platforms and macOS
    * The source now uses _ISO_C11_SOURCE; this notably fixes building on
      FreeBSD (see #789 for more info)

PostgreSQL 13.4, 12.8, 11.13, 10.18, 9.6.23

Security Issues

CVE-2021-3677: Memory disclosure in certain queries

Versions Affected: 11 - 13.

A purpose-crafted query can read arbitrary bytes of server memory. In the default configuration, any authenticated database user can complete this attack at will. The attack does not require the ability to create objects. If server settings include max_worker_processes=0, the known versions of this attack are infeasible. However, undiscovered variants of the attack may be independent of that setting.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

This update also fixes over 75 bugs that were reported in the last several months. Some of these issues affect only version 13, but many affect all supported versions.

Some of these fixes include:

Completely disable TLS/SSL renegotiation. This was previously disabled, but the server would still execute a client-initiated renegotiation request.
Restore the Portal-level snapshot after COMMIT or ROLLBACK within a procedure. This change fixes cases where an attempt to fetch a toasted value immediately after COMMIT/ROLLBACK would fail with errors like "no known snapshots" or "missing chunk number 0 for toast value".
Avoid misbehavior when persisting the output of a cursor that's reading a volatile query.
Reject cases where a query in WITH rewrites to just NOTIFY, which would cause a crash.
Several corner-case fixes for numeric types.
ALTER EXTENSION now locks the extension when adding or removing a member object.
The "enabled" status is now copied when a partitioned table's triggers are cloned to a new partition.
Avoid alias conflicts in queries generated for REFRESH MATERIALIZED VIEW CONCURRENTLY. This command failed on materialized views containing columns with certain names, notably mv and newdata.
Disallow whole-row variables in GENERATED expressions.
Several fixes for DROP OWNED BY behavior in relation to row-level security (RLS) policies.
Re-allow old-style Windows locale names in CREATE COLLATION commands.
walsenders now show their latest replication command in pg_stat_activity, instead of just showing the latest SQL command.
pg_settings.pending_restart now shows as true when a pertinent entry in postgresql.conf is removed.
On 64-bit Windows, allow the effective value of work_mem * hash_mem_multiplier to exceed 2GB.
Update minimum recovery point when WAL replay of a transaction abort record causes file truncation.
Advance oldest-required-WAL-segment horizon properly after a replication slot is invalidated. This fixes an issue where the server's WAL storage could run out of space.
Improve progress reporting for the sort phase of a parallel B-tree index build.
Fix assorted crash cases in logical replication of partitioned-table updates and when firing AFTER triggers of partitioned tables.
Prevent infinite loops in SP-GiST index insertion.
Ensure that SP-GiST index insertion can be terminated by a query cancel request.
In psql and other client programs, avoid overrunning the ends of strings when dealing with invalidly-encoded data.
Fix pg_dump to correctly handle triggers on partitioned tables whose enabled status is different from their parent triggers' status.
Avoid "invalid creation date in header" warnings when running pg_restore on a file created in a different time zone.
pg_upgrade now carries forward the old installation's oldestXID value and no longer forces an anti-wraparound VACUUM."
Extend pg_upgrade to detect and warn about extensions that should be upgraded.
Fix contrib/postgres_fdw to better work with generated columns, so long as a generated column in a foreign table represents a generated column in the remote table.

rust: Do not mix i586-unknown-netbsd and i686-unknown-netbsd

The mix of i586-unknown-netbsd and i686-unknown-netbsd targets
leads partial misdetection of external llvm from lang/llvm.
It adds -DLLVM_RUSTLLVM to CFLAGS and -DLLVM_RUSTLLVM breaks
PassWrapper.c build with external llvm.
Fix PR pkg/56304.
