mk/extract/extract.mk: enclose extract_file in quotes

This prevents unintended shell word expansion.

It also makes that argument visible in "bmake show-all-extract". Before,
it was left out entirely from the output. Now it is printed as an empty
string literal, which at least gives a hint that "there is something".

(gson)

2020-03-20 12:46:15 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

misc/py-anita: update to 2.3.

Changes from 2.2:

Deal with curses sometimes optimizing away the final "s" in "Debug
symbols", causing the debug set to not be installed.

Increase default memory size for amd64 from 128M to 192M, as the
installer no longer runs reliably in 128M without exhausting memory.

Keep logging the console output for a few seconds after shutdown to
catch the autoconf detach messages and possible panics on detach.

When logging shell commands, avoid line breaks between options and
their arguments.

Support the "virt" machine type for evbarm-eamv7hf as an alternative
to the default of vexpress-a15.  To enable, use the command line
option --machine virt.

Changes:

NOTE

* This list isn't complete. There have been more changes
and fixes than are listed here. This release contains a
  lot of bug fixes.

* My main priority was to release this... release. It's been
a while and I'd rather not let this take up too much time.

* I've also made the release process quicker and easier to
do with the intent to push more updates in shorter
intervals. Expect quicker and more frequent releases.

In the case of pkglocaledir, the SUBST_FILES are generated by a shell

math/py-scipy12: Work around mac extraction woes

On macOS 10.13 (at least), unpacking the distfile as root results in
files that have strange permissions, including group/world writable
and executable.  The upstream distfile has these, but extracting on
other systems or on mac not as root applies some sort of umask.  On
Darwin only, chmod these spurious bits away.  Tested to work as
non-root and root on macOS 10.13, and by inspection will not affect
!macOS.

git: updated to 2.52.2

Git 2.25.2 Release Notes
========================

Fixes since v2.25.1
-------------------

* Minor bugfixes to "git add -i" that has recently been rewritten in C.

* An earlier update to show the location of working tree in the error
message did not consider the possibility that a git command may be
run in a bare repository, which has been corrected.

* The "--recurse-submodules" option of various subcommands did not
work well when run in an alternate worktree, which has been
  corrected.

* Running "git rm" on a submodule failed unnecessarily when
.gitmodules is only cache-dirty, which has been corrected.

* "git rebase -i" identifies existing commits in its todo file with
their abbreviated object name, which could become ambigous as it
goes to create new commits, and has a mechanism to avoid ambiguity
in the main part of its execution.  A few other cases however were
not covered by the protection against ambiguity, which has been
  corrected.

* The index-pack code now diagnoses a bad input packstream that
records the same object twice when it is used as delta base; the
code used to declare a software bug when encountering such an
input, but it is an input error.

* The code to automatically shrink the fan-out in the notes tree had
an off-by-one bug, which has been killed.

* "git check-ignore" did not work when the given path is explicitly
marked as not ignored with a negative entry in the .gitignore file.

* The merge-recursive machinery failed to refresh the cache entry for
a merge result in a couple of places, resulting in an unnecessary
merge failure, which has been fixed.

* Fix for a bug revealed by a recent change to make the protocol v2
  the default.

* "git merge signed-tag" while lacking the public key started to say
"No signature", which was utterly wrong.  This regression has been
  reverted.

* MinGW's poll() emulation has been improved.

* "git show" and others gave an object name in raw format in its
error output, which has been corrected to give it in hex.

* Both "git ls-remote -h" and "git grep -h" give short usage help,
like any other Git subcommand, but it is not unreasonable to expect
that the former would behave the same as "git ls-remote --head"
(there is no other sensible behaviour for the latter).  The
documentation has been updated in an attempt to clarify this.

Also contains various documentation updates, code clean-ups and minor fixups.

mk/subst.mk: add SUBST_NOOP_OK to catch typos and outdated definitions

In a bulk build with very strict settings (WARNING_MSG fails, as well as
no-op substitutions), it became clear that nearly all of the cases where
SUBST didn't replace anything were bugs in the package definition.

Most of them were just outdated, which is no surprise given that some
packages are already over 20 years old.

For backwards compatibility, SUBST_NOOP_OK defaults to "yes" right now.
After correcting the affected packages, the default will change to "no".

doc: Updated net/tor to 0.4.2.7

(wiz)

2020-03-18 16:43:49 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

tor: update to 0.4.2.7.

Changes in version 0.4.2.7 - 2020-03-18
This is the third stable release in the 0.4.2.x series. It backports
numerous fixes from later releases, including a fix for TROVE-2020-
002, a major denial-of-service vulnerability that affected all
released Tor instances since 0.2.1.5-alpha. Using this vulnerability,
an attacker could cause Tor instances to consume a huge amount of CPU,
disrupting their operations for several seconds or minutes. This
attack could be launched by anybody against a relay, or by a directory
cache against any client that had connected to it. The attacker could
launch this attack as much as they wanted, thereby disrupting service
or creating patterns that could aid in traffic analysis. This issue
was found by OSS-Fuzz, and is also tracked as CVE-2020-10592.

We do not have reason to believe that this attack is currently being
exploited in the wild, but nonetheless we advise everyone to upgrade
as soon as packages are available.

o Major bugfixes (security, denial-of-service, backport from 0.4.3.3-alpha):
    - Fix a denial-of-service bug that could be used by anyone to
consume a bunch of CPU on any Tor relay or authority, or by
directories to consume a bunch of CPU on clients or hidden
services. Because of the potential for CPU consumption to
introduce observable timing patterns, we are treating this as a
high-severity security issue. Fixes bug 33119; bugfix on
0.2.1.5-alpha. Found by OSS-Fuzz. We are also tracking this issue
      as TROVE-2020-002 and CVE-2020-10592.

o Major bugfixes (circuit padding, memory leak, backport from 0.4.3.3-alpha):
    - Avoid a remotely triggered memory leak in the case that a circuit
padding machine is somehow negotiated twice on the same circuit.
Fixes bug 33619; bugfix on 0.4.0.1-alpha. Found by Tobias Pulls.
This is also tracked as TROVE-2020-004 and CVE-2020-10593.

o Major bugfixes (directory authority, backport from 0.4.3.3-alpha):
    - Directory authorities will now send a 503 (not enough bandwidth)
code to clients when under bandwidth pressure. Known relays and
other authorities will always be answered regardless of the
bandwidth situation. Fixes bug 33029; bugfix on 0.1.2.5-alpha.

o Minor features (continuous integration, backport from 0.4.3.2-alpha):
    - Stop allowing failures on the Travis CI stem tests job. It looks
like all the stem hangs we were seeing before are now fixed.
      Closes ticket 33075.

o Minor bugfixes (bridges, backport from 0.4.3.1-alpha):
    - Lowercase the configured value of BridgeDistribution before adding
it to the descriptor. Fixes bug 32753; bugfix on 0.3.2.3-alpha.

o Minor bugfixes (logging, backport from 0.4.3.2-alpha):
    - If we encounter a bug when flushing a buffer to a TLS connection,
only log the bug once per invocation of the Tor process.
Previously we would log with every occurrence, which could cause
us to run out of disk space. Fixes bug 33093; bugfix
      on 0.3.2.2-alpha.

o Minor bugfixes (onion services v3, backport from 0.4.3.3-alpha):
    - Fix an assertion failure that could result from a corrupted
      ADD_ONION control port command. Found by Saibato. Fixes bug 33137;
bugfix on 0.3.3.1-alpha. This issue is also tracked
      as TROVE-2020-003.

o Minor bugfixes (rust, build, backport from 0.4.3.2-alpha):
    - Fix a syntax warning given by newer versions of Rust that was
      creating problems for our continuous integration. Fixes bug 33212;
      bugfix on 0.3.5.1-alpha.

o Testing (Travis CI, backport from 0.4.3.3-alpha):
    - Remove a redundant distcheck job. Closes ticket 33194.
    - Sort the Travis jobs in order of speed: putting the slowest jobs
first takes full advantage of Travis job concurrency. Closes
      ticket 33194.
    - Stop allowing the Chutney IPv6 Travis job to fail. This job was
previously configured to fast_finish (which requires
allow_failure), to speed up the build. Closes ticket 33195.
    - When a Travis chutney job fails, use chutney's new "diagnostics.sh"
tool to produce detailed diagnostic output. Closes ticket 32792.

security/heimdal: Prefix kerberos commands by default

It has long been an issue that heimdal installs "su" which shadows
system su and behaves differently.  Now, with openssl 1.1, many people
are getting heimdal installed that did not expect it or ask for it.

(Really, heimdal should be split into libraries and apps, so that
programs can have kerberos support without adding commands to the
user's namespace, but this is vastly easier.)

(In response to on-list complaints, and believing this will not be
contoversial.)

Updated lang/nodejs, www/py-bleach

(adam)

2020-03-18 10:08:16 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

py-bleach: updated to 3.1.3

Version 3.1.3:

**Features**

* Add relative link to code of conduct.
* Drop deprecated 'setup.py test' support.
* Fix typo: curren -> current in tests/test_clean.py
* Test on PyPy 7
* Drop test support for end of life Python 3.4

Version 3.1.2:

**Security fixes**

* ``bleach.clean`` behavior parsing embedded MathML and SVG content
with RCDATA tags did not match browser behavior and could result in
  a mutation XSS.

Calls to ``bleach.clean`` with ``strip=False`` and ``math`` or
``svg`` tags and one or more of the RCDATA tags ``script``,
  ``noscript``, ``style``, ``noframes``, ``iframe``, ``noembed``, or
``xmp`` in the allowed tags whitelist were vulnerable to a mutation
  XSS.

This security issue was confirmed in Bleach version v3.1.1. Earlier
  versions are likely affected too.

Version 3.1.1:

**Security fixes**

* ``bleach.clean`` behavior parsing ``noscript`` tags did not match
  browser behavior.

Calls to ``bleach.clean`` allowing ``noscript`` and one or more of
  the raw text tags (``title``, ``textarea``, ``script``, ``style``,
  ``noembed``, ``noframes``, ``iframe``, and ``xmp``) were vulnerable
  to a mutation XSS.

This security issue was confirmed in Bleach versions v2.1.4, v3.0.2,
and v3.1.0. Earlier versions are probably affected too.

doc: Updated www/viewvc to 1.2.0

(wiz)

2020-03-17 22:14:15 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

viewvc: update to 1.2.0.

ViewVC 1.2.0 is a sort of interim release (and release line) intended
to be the last ViewVC release line that offers Python 2 support.
Rather than bundle into the next major post-1.1 release both the
switch to Python 3 plus all the ViewVC-1.1-incompatible changes
that have been baking unreleased for the past decade, we decided
to roll out those changes as ViewVC 1.2 without the Python 3 upgrade
bit.

ChangeLog:

bumped minimum supported Python version to 2.4
implemented support for property diffs (Tigris #383)
allow user-configurable cvsgraph display (Tigris #336)
allow rNNNN syntax for Subversion revision numbers (Tigris #441)
display revision numbers in CVS tag/branch selector (Tigris #546)
allow roots to have optional context (#58)
use a more secure temporary file generator (#159)
fix problems with make-database and special characters (#141, #182)
fix bogus default ci_when value in cvsdb (#200)
    standalone query interface removed (#206)
GUI support (--gui) removed from standalone.py

py-wrapt: updated to 1.12.1

Version 1.12.1

Bugs Fixed

Applying a function wrapper to a static method of a class using the wrap_function_wrapper() function, or wrapper for the same, wasn't being done correctly when the static method was the immediate child of the target object. It was working when the name path had multiple name components. A failure would subsequently occur when the static method was called via an instance of the class, rather than the class.

Version 1.12.0

Features Changed

Provided that you only want to support Python 3.7, when deriving from a base class which has a decorator applied to it, you no longer need to access the true type of the base class using __wrapped__ in the inherited class list of the derived class.
Bugs Fixed

When using the synchronized decorator on instance methods of a class, if the class declared special methods to override the result for when the class instance was tested as a boolean so that it returned False all the time, the synchronized method would fail when called.
When using an adapter function to change the signature of the decorated function, inspect.signature() was returning the wrong signature when an instance method was inspected by accessing the method via the class type.

powerdns: updated to 4.2.1

4.2.1
This release fixes several bugs and makes a few features more robust or intuitive. It also contains a few performance improvements for API users.

New Features
Add SLAVE-RENOTIFY zone metadata support
Add configurable timeout for inbound AXFR
Add CentOS 8 as builder target
gmysql backend, add an option to send the SSL capability flag

Improvements
API: reduce number of database connections
Register a few known RR types and remove an unknown one
bindbackend: use metadata for also-notifies as well
pdnsutil increase-serial: under SOA-EDIT=INCEPTION-EPOCH, bump as if it is EPOCH
API: optionally do not return dnssec info in domain list
Basic validation of $GENERATE parameters

Bug Fixes
LUA view: do not crash on empty IP list
API: Accept headers without spaces
Avoid database state-related SERVFAILs after a LUA error
Just before 4.2.0, some SQL-related fixes broke edit-zone and other features with the LMDB backend. This has been fixed now.
rfc2136, pdnsutil: somewhat improve duplicate record handling

4.2.0
Compared to the last release candidate, one more bug has been fixed.

The LMDB backend is incomplete in this version. Slaving zones works, loading zones with pdnsutil works, but more fine grained edits (using edit-zone, or the REST API) fail. We hope to fix this soon in a 4.2.x release.

For an overview of features new since 4.1.x, please see the 4.2.0 announcement blog post.

(adam)

2020-03-17 18:59:16 UTC MAIN commitmail json YAML

mysql56: updated to 5.6.47

Changes in MySQL 5.6.47:

Bugs Fixed

Replication: When GTIDs are enabled on a replication master and slave, and the slave connects to the master with the MASTER_AUTO_POSITION=1 option set, the master must send the slave all the transactions that the slave has not already received, committed, or both. If any of the transactions that should be sent by the master have been already purged from the master's binary log, the master sends the error ER_MASTER_HAS_PURGED_REQUIRED_GTIDS (1789) to the slave, and replication does not start.

The message provided for the error ER_MASTER_HAS_PURGED_REQUIRED_GTIDS has been changed to provide advice on the correct action in this situation, which is for the slave to replicate the missing transactions from another source, or for the slave to be replaced by a new slave created from a more recent backup. The message advises that the master's binary log expiration period can be revised to avoid the situation in future. In addition, the master now identifies the GTIDs of the purged transactions and supplies them in its error log in the warning message ER_FOUND_MISSING_GTIDS (11809), so that you do not need to calculate the missing GTIDs manually.

With multiple sessions executing concurrent INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE statements into a table with an AUTO_INCREMENT column but not specifying the AUTO_INCREMENT value, inserts could fail with a unique index violation.

A SELECT using a WHERE condition of the form A AND (B OR C [OR ...]) resulting in an impossible range led to an unplanned exit of the server.

An incomplete connection packet could cause clients not to properly initialize the authentication plugin name.
